Vince Vaughn is ‘the best bang for the buck’ going in Hollywood

According Forbes magazine, comedic actor Vince Vaughn has topped a list of Hollywood stars giving studios the best returns on their investments. He must come cheap!Forbes says it compiled the list by looking at a star’s last three films that opened wide before January 1, 2008 and were made in the past five years — and were not animated.

Forbes then took half of each film’s box office income and added the first three months of wholesale DVD revenues, subtracted the budget, and used the star’s gross income to work out payback.

Vaughn’s films earned $14.73 for every dollar he was paid.

Until recently Vince wasn’t paid the big-bucks that other actors make, and the films he starred in, like Wedding Crashers, had modest budgets but awesome box office returns.

Here’s Forbes’ list of the top payback stars:

A-listers Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and George Clooney reportedly helped their standings in the list quite a bit, because of their work in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, as they all took pay cuts to appear in the popular sequels.

People Magazine missed out on those first baby pictures of Matthew McConaughey’s daughter, but they got the next best thing. Here we have former Pregnant Man - Thomas Beatie, with his new baby girl Susan Juliette. Just in case you have been away for awhile, Beatie, 34, a former female beauty pageant contestant, made cultural history as perhaps the first legally transgender male to give birth! Beatie conceived through artificial insemination with donor sperm.

He told the magazine that he was in labor for 40 hours and gave birth naturally. Susan weighed in at 9 lbs., 5 oz (wow!). Pregnant Man’s wife, Nancy Thomas, is breastfeeding Susan through induced lactation.

Say what you will of this situation, but baby Susan is gorgeous!

Here’s an alleged celebrity affair story that I wasn’t expecting. Star Magazine is reporting that Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband Matthew Broderick has been having an affair.

With a mysterious. gorgeous 25 year old woman, said to be a youth counselor!

The tabloid tattles that Matthew met the redhead almost half his age earlier this year. After meeting at a bar, they apparently swapped contact info and the two began text messaging each other.

The woman’s friend claims the two got very passionate shortly after meeting at a friends Manhattan Townhouse (sex in the city).

While Jessica was in Los Angeles filming Sex and the City: the movie, allegedly multiple eyewitnesses say they saw Matthew make late-night visits to the redhead’s apartment building.
Heather Locklear released from rehab

Heather Locklear has reportedly completed her stint in rehab at Sierra Tucson in Arizona, supposedly for anxiety and depression.

We say supposedly because a source with connections to the center (Sierra Tucson) treating Locklear, told InTouch Weekly, that she was being treated for alcohol and prescription-pill dependency.

Heather was supposedly driven all the way from LA to the Arizona facility by boyfriend and Melrose co-star, Jack Wagner, to keep her admission to rehab a secret.

In any case the actress spent four weeks receiving treatment and is now currently home in Los Angeles and is said to be looking radiant.
Christian Bale apparently ‘on edge’ lately

As we reported in this post here, there may have been mitigating circumstances which perhaps point to Christian Bales’, mother and sister as not so innocent victims, even though they accused the batman star of assault.

The Daily Mail claims Christian completely flipped out on Sunday night after his mom insulted his wife. A source said, “Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife.“

The source said that Christian’s marriage is in trouble and his relationship with his mother sucks, so it just all came to a head that night. Christian has already denied the assault allegations.

A new report on a recent incident also indicates Christian Bale may be in a bit of a fragile state right now.

Bale was on set last Friday shooting Terminator 4 at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico when all of a sudden he exploded!

During one scene, the director of cinematography, messed up a shot - or so Bale thought.

Christian reportedly went ballistic, screaming “I will kick your ass“, amongst other harsh things. Several hundred people - cast, crew and extras - heard the outburst. It was later said that Bale was “extremely tired and having a bad day.”

Basically, Christian probably has a temper (like most of us), his family might be annoying, they had a very loud argument, someone called the police, he was arrested, he was released and that’s it.

Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves, are on the cover of this weeks OK! Magazine with their first child Levi Alves McConaughey. Born on July 7th at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, Levi weighed a healthy 7 lbs., 4 oz.. Matthew reveals a few interesting tidbits in his interview with OK!:

- Camila wanted a natural birth and chose not to have an epidural. But in the end, Matthew told OK! it came down to what was safest for both mom and baby. We ended up having an epidural because, on the large contractions, the umbilical cord was being compressed.

- that Matthew cut the umbilical cord in “one snip” and got to hold his son for the first 15 minutes while doctors worked on Camila.

-Matthew kept a detailed diary of his and Camila’s hospital experience. “I have it all chronicled,” he explained. “Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10.

Courtney Love has gone on the attack against singer Ryan Adams, claiming he failed to pay back money he borrowed to fund his 2003 album Rock N Roll.

Love posted a bizarre rant (does she do any other kind?) on her MySpace.com page on Saturday, claiming Adams had taken $858,000 from her daughter Frances Bean’s trust fund to pay for his LP release. This is metaphorically speaking as apparently Adams used an American Express card(s) of hers to ring up the expenses.

She writes: “There were all the bills for Ryan Adams’ worst record and one of the worst records I can think of in rock and roll history ironically called Rock and Roll (sic) and it was paid for by ME and mostly by my child.

“Here on Amex 28 (she apparently had 29 American Express cards at the time) is the entire invoice for Ryan - your ENTIRE album and meals and drugs and hotels and outboard gear and wasted fabulous guitars STRAIGHT OUT OF FRANCES’ TRUST FUND.

“Ryan… YOU spent 858,000 dollars on this record of MY DAUGHTERS (sic) MONEY. So what’s your paying me back plan?”

The post has now been taken down from the social networking site. Ex-boyfriends Ed Norton, Billy Corgan, and “Gollum” (Jim Barber, who produced Rock n Roll) all got name-checked in the diatribe. (Ryan and Courtney had “very safe sex” too, it is revealed.)

Meanwhile the former Hole frontwoman’s business managers are suing her over claims she failed to pay them after selling a portion of the NIRVANA song catalog.
In a lawsuit filed yesterday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, London & Co. allege their client owes them five per cent of the sale of a portion of her stake of Nirvana’s back catalog, owned by frontman Kurt Cobain’s widow Love and his former bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the financial firm claims they are entitled to $975,000 as the rights were sold for $19.5 million in 2006.

John Edwards caught with alleged mistress and love child?

Some potentially highly explosive stuff here! The National Enquirer reports that they caught former Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards sneaking into a Beverly Hills hotel at 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 22nd, so he could see his Santa Barbara based mistress and their love child!

Edwards was reportedly in Los Angeles on business to attended a press event with the city’s mayor about homelessness.

The Enquirer cites a months-long investigation to advance its claim that Edwards was visiting the woman he was having an affair and fathered a child with, while his wife was/ and is still battling cancer.

The Enquirer originally broke the story of Edwards’ love child scandal last year, when the mistress was still pregnant and John was still considered a strong candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Both parties denied the report and a close friend of Edwards’ came forward and said he was the father of the mistress’s baby. The Enquirer insists that Edwards was engineering a massive cover up of his infidelity.

A commenter by the name of “Edna” posted a supposed “first hand” account on what really went down between Christian Bale and his mother and sister at London’s Dorchester hotel on Sunday. She proclaims:

My father works security at the hotel, and he said it was a mess. His mom and sister wanted the front desk worker to let them into his room to wait for him. When they were told no they started cussing and yelling. They sat in front of his door for an hour until he finally arrived.

His mom and sister are alcoholics and drug addicts, they showed up at his hotel uninvited and highly intoxicated. They were calling him big shot and that he needs to take care of his own. His mom was yelling that he would be nothing without her and he owed her. His sister was begging for money and when he was pushing her toward the door his mother came from behind and started hitting him on his head and kicking him. He managed to push them both out the door and his mom fell, they called the police and wanted him arrested. I believe that Chirstian [sic] is the victim here not his mom or sister.

Take this for what it’s worth considering the sketchy source but after doing a bit of research the story does sound plausible. Christian has already made a statement to the police and left the station without being charged. His rep released this statement:

“Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister,” the star’s lawyers said in the statement. “Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.”
