Adding to the family, Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck welcomed their second daughter into the world on Tuesday (January 6).
Of the oh-so-happy moment, the “Juno” actress’s rep simply stated: “Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck gave birth to a healthy baby girl.”
Jennifer Garner has finally given birth to her second child with Ben Affleck. The baby girl was born on Tuesday and both mother and baby are doing well. The baby’s name has not been released to the public yet, but we should be hearing soon.
With Violet Affleck, their three-year-old, voted the cutest celebrity baby several times, magazines are certainly going to be clamoring to get the first shots of her little sister. The Afflecks didn’t sell the first photographs of Violet to a celebrity magazine, so it’s doubtful they’ll be posing for photos with their second child. They didn’t even officially announce the pregancy until it was obvious.
Garner confirmed the pregnancy in August after joking, “Oh, I’m not pregnant. I just had a lot of carbs for breakfast. It’s just - what do they call it - a breakfast pouch.”
“It always makes me laugh when people say ‘Is she?’ ‘Isn’t she?’ It’s like eventually you will know, so just chill out for a minute,” she said in the interview with Access Hollywood, adding: “We’re so excited, obviously.”

This family seems so normal. Although they haven’t been hitting the red carpet lately, with Jennifer focusing on being a mom and Ben directing rather than acting, it may be their outwardly perfect life that has kept them in the tabloids. That and the adorable Violet.

She's probably just going in for last-minute checkups.
As the date grows closer, though, we'd suggest she stay at a hotel or a friends house. Having all those paparazzi follow you when you're actually in labor would be super annoying!!!

With a baby due any day now, Ben Affleck hurriedly took his pregnant wife Jennifer Garner to Cedars Sinai Medical Center on Sunday (January 4).
With Jen dressed in black and trying to shield herself by standing behind her “Good Will Hunting” hubby, the twosome quickly made their way from the parking garage and into the hospital entrance.

Many were left wondering if the happy couple were arriving for the birth of their second child.
But that doesn't seem to be the case.
Later on Wednesday, Garner was spotted out with baby Violet while shopping at a Williams Sonoma store in Santa Monica.
So turns out Jen hasn't popped - yet.
But. by the looks of things, she's about to any day now.
And seriously, with a stomach as big as hers, is it still a good idea to be lugging around Violet everywhere she goes?
Is it healthy for her to be carrying that much weight while preggers?

The loving parents to the adorable Violet Affleck were spotted entering the Cedars-Sinai medical hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
So were they just there for a check up?
Is Jen in labor?
Will they induce the labor today?
Maybe they'll have the baby now during the holidays so the paparazzi won't hound them as much.
Either way, they are definitely going to have that baby - soon.

Looking more and more like she’s ready to pop every day, Jennifer Garner was spotted heading into a Los Angeles hospital with her husband Ben Affleck earlier today (December 31).
The “Catch and Release” babe looked a bit uncomfortable despite her baggy casual ensemble, including a loose-fitting blue sweater and some relaxed fit jeans.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck could soon be welcoming either the last celebrity baby of 2008 or the very first one of 2009!
E! Online reports that the pair were seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Wednesday morning, with Violet in tow. The family left the hospital a few hours later, but after looking at the pics of her belly we snapped a few hours ago, we'd expect a baby brother or sister for Violet VERY soon!

We can't really blame Ben for flipping the bird to the paps this Christmas eve. The holidays can be stressful...and with a new baby on the way and Ben taking over Jen's Violet duties (aka carrying her everywhere), he's gotta be feeling it tenfold!

Enjoying a mother/daughter outing on the UCLA campus, Jennifer Garner and Violet Affleck were spotted spending an afternoon at the ballet on Saturday (December 20).
Clad in a bright purple sweater covering up her baby bump, the heavily pregnant “Juno” actress and her young love took in a production of “The Nutcracker” held at Royce Hall.
Several months ago, Ben Affleck traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to bear witness to the tremendous humanitarian catastrophe unfolding. The United Nations has some resources on the ground, but nowhere near enough to take in the millions of refugees displaced by “civil” war.
While there, Affleck shot footage for a very short documentary titled Gimme Shelter that he premiered at the United Nations’ New York headquarters on Wednesday. The event was sponsered by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR), for which Angelina Jolie has been a special goodwill ambassador since 2001. After Gimme Shelter was screened, Affleck took questions.
Affleck, 36, says he made the short [documentary] “in order to focus attention on the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) at a time when too much of the world is indifferent or looking the other way.”
“We step up when these terrible crises occur,” said Affleck, who has visited the DRC four times in the last year and held discussions with leaders on all sides of the conflict including warlords, peacemakers, activists and government officials.
“I’ve had to be really judicious,” he said. “I got exposed to really smart people. [I've had] to give myself a kind of great post-graduate education.”
Affleck noted that organizations like the UNHCR need more funding in light of the financial crisis, and also urged increased diplomacy in the region. “Diplomacy won’t cost us anything,” he said.
He also joked about the UN Refugee Agency’s most visible spokesperson, Angelina Jolie: “UNHCR needs to find a Goodwill Ambassador who can get some sort of press attention,” Affleck said to laughs from the audience.
According to the U.N., more than 5.4 million people have died in the conflict, with millions more displaced from their homes.

The Congolese genocide/civil war was picked as one of the top-ten most under-reported stories of the year by Time Magazine. But you could say that about nearly every story coming out of Africa - the Sudanese genocide, the civil unrest in Kenya, the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, the hyperinflation of Zimbabwe, the plague of war crimes, the failed state of Somalia, the environmental disasters, and on and on. All are under-reported, and I applaud Affleck for doing his part to bring more attention to a situation that too often gets crowded out of the headlines. And I really do think he meant his Jolie joke in a nice way.

Back together as a happy family, Ben Affleck returned to Los Angeles on Saturday (December 13) and made his first stop that of hooking up with his two lovely young ladies.
The “Good Will Hunting” hunk was dropped off at an art class at “Step By Step” in Santa Monica, where his daughter Violet Affleck and very pregnant wife Jennifer Garner were busy working on arts & crafts.
As her due date looms closer and closer, Jennifer Garner is still maintaining her usual active lifestyle, despite her growing baby bump.
And yesterday (December 4), the “Alias” babe was spotted picking up her daughter Violet Affleck from preschool in Santa Monica, California.

Ben Affleck in eastern Congo, 11/19/08
Ben Affleck has already chronicled the dire conditions in the war-torn African Congo region with a documentary and an appearance on Nightline. He’s made three treks to the Republic of Congo, hoping to raise awareness of the ongoing atrocities brought on by civil war, including violence against women and children. One of the most prevalent forms of violence there is rape - in fact, 2 out of 3 women in the Congo are rape victims. Most of these women never seek medical help or report their rapists. Now, Ben is returning to the region, hoping to raise more awareness and to urge people to donate money or resources to humanitarian organizations servicing the Congo.
“I’m not an expert in international affairs or diplomacy, but it doesn’t take that to see the tremendous suffering here,” he told The Associated Press on Thursday in Goma, the regional capital. “It’s not something that we as human beings can, in good conscience, ignore.”
Years of sporadic violence in eastern Congo intensified in August, when fighting heated up between the army and fighters loyal to rebel leader Laurent Nkunda.
Some fear the current crisis could once again draw in neighboring countries. Congo’s devastating 1998-2002 war split the vast nation into rival fiefdoms and involved half a dozen African armies.
“I’m really glad that more people are paying more attention to (Congo) now but I’m really saddened that it’s taken this uptick in violence to make that happen,” Affleck said.
“The primary reason I am here is to urge people to give money to the NGOs and charities doing hard work in eastern Congo on meager funds,” he said. “And if people out there have an existing relationship with a charity, to urge that charity to get involved in eastern Congo. To let people know, ‘Don’t just read the horror stories in the newspapers and turn off.’”
Affleck said he first became interested in Congo a few years ago, when Hollywood’s attentions began to focus another African crisis, Darfur. After doing more research on Africa, he was shocked to learn about Congo’s four-year war, during which an estimated 5 million people died.
“I thought a lot of people are advocating on Darfur. I’d just be a very small log on a big fire. I started getting interested in Congo and I thought, this is a place where I can have a really big impact,” he said.
My daughter’s best friend, who is 13, and her family had to return to the Congo last year to help ailing family members. they own a plantation in the Congo and several family members have AIDS. Their land is constantly being attacked and set on fire and they’ve lost most of their livestock, but they haven’t been hurt yet. There are often many months that go by before we get word from her, and we always fear the worst. Some of the stories my daughter’s friend has told us are truly chilling. If I had the celebrity status of someone like Ben Affleck, or Brangelina, etc., I would probably be doing the same thing - using that status to raise awareness of situations like this.
For those who will inevitably slam Ben for having the audacity to raise awareness of an atrocity outside of the US borders, keep in mind that Ben is a co-founder of an annual charity poker event along with Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler which benefits U.S, organizations such as The United Way and the American Red Cross. He’s also hosted charity benefits for elementary schools and colleges in the Boston area and in the hometown of wife Jennifer Garner.

While wife Jennifer Garner is just weeks away from giving birth to their second child, Ben Affleck is visiting war-torn refugee camps in the Central African country of Congo.
This is Ben's fourth trip to the country since 2007 and he's said to be working on a documentary to raise awareness about the country's plight.
"I'm not an expert in international affairs or diplomacy, but it doesn't take that to see the tremendous suffering here," he told The Associated Press. "It's not something that we as human beings can, in good conscience, ignore."
Ben says he first became interested in Congo when many Hollywood stars were focusing on the situation in nearby Darfur. He says he was shocked when he learned an estimated 5 million people had died in only 4 years during a war in Congo.
"I thought a lot of people are advocating on Darfur. I'd just be a very small log on a big fire. I started getting interested in Congo and I thought, this is a place where I can have a really big impact," he said.
"I think that, for better or worse, people with some profile in the arts have some currency to spend as celebrities. And for a time, I didn't spend that in any particularly productive way. And I got to a point where I thought, this is wasteful."
The situation there is so tragic, we certainly applaud Ben's efforts to raise awareness.
Jennifer Garner is one of my favorite celebrities, but I try not to publish all the photos that come out of her because she just looks harassed, especially in this last stage of her pregnancy. Yesterday the news came out that she’s being stalked by an obsessed mentally ill guy who has been trying to contact her since 2002. It sounds like she not only has to worry about all the paparazzi trailing her every day, she also has this crazy guy to be concerned about. That could easily explain why she’s looking so troubled.
There are some cute stories about Garner in the tabloids that are about to become puppy training paper that I didn’t want to pass up. They mainly focus on compromises that Affleck and Garner have made for each other.
Garner made SNL trash Guy Ritchie skit because it was “insensitive”
According to Mike Walker in the Enquirer, Jennifer Garner was on set while her husband Ben was rehearsing for his Saturday Night Live gig. She saw a skit he was working on in which Guy Ritchie was “whooping it up post-bustup with horning hotties decades younger than dear old Madge!” They decided not to run the skit at the last minute, though, because Garner didn’t agree with it and thought it was “insensitive.” She is said to have noted that the couple has children and that it’s not nice to make fun of a failed marriage. Affleck didn’t agree with her, but “killed the skit to keep the peace.”
Garner helps decorate poker room for Affleck in new mansion
Garner may get her way on some issues concerning her husband’s career, but she’s willing to compromise when it comes to his favorite hobbies. Also in The Enquirer is a story that she’s helping convert a spare room in their new Brentwood mansion into “a plush gaming den” for her poker-loving hubby. The room was even her idea.
“When it’s done, Ben’s poker room is expected to look just like a private high-roller suite at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, which is where he likes to play,” a close friend told The Enquirer.
At first, 36-year-old Jen disapproved of her husband’s poker habit, and he cut back on his Vegas junkets. But last year he reportedly spent up to four nights a week playing the game online, and dropped up to $20,000 a night!
“Jen wanted Ben to cut out playing poker completely, but she knew that wasn’t realistic,” said the source. “So she decided to build a room at home where Ben could have the boys over once a week.”

Beginning their week on a family front, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were spotted dropping off their daughter Violet at nursery school earlier today (November 10).
The “Sum of All Fears” stud and his “Catch and Release” wife looked like the picture of parental bliss as they escorted their 2 ½-year-old to school for the day, with Ben sporting a grey t-shirt and jeans while Jen opted for a black scoopneck maternity shirt and jeans.

The happy family spent some time bonding and picking out toys.
We can't say this enough… Violet really looks like such a happy, well-behaved, adorable little girl.

Making for family time in the midst of what’s been a hectic New York City trip, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were spotted out shopping with daughter Violet at Scholastic Store in Soho on Sunday (November 2).
The trio have been away from the Los Angeles area home, staying in the Big Apple for Ben’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” last night.
McCain’s first skit on SNL, which was a hit. His second skit, below, wasn’t quite as effective
After a serious ten straight minutes of political commercials, Saturday Night Live finally kicked off with John McCain and Sarah Palin. The real McCain, but not the real Sarah Palin. Tina Fey was back with what will be, if she sticks to her word, her final performance on the Saturday show as the Alaska Governor.
McCain and “Palin” were on QVC on the skit, in rebuttal to Obama’s Wednesday night 30-minute ad, because the time came cheap as long as they would hawk a few products. As Tina-as-Palin explained as she stroked her lovely, designer jacket, running a Presidential campaign is expensive.
Senator McCain announced the pair’s first product, a 10-piece collector’s set representing the ten town hall meetings the Senators McCain and Obama had. He stepped over to reveal ten blank, white plates, because, as he explained, Obama refused to do town hall meetings.
The second product was presented by Palin, a complete set of Joe action figures, plumber, six pack, and Biden. Her favorite being the Biden doll, whose string you could pull and he would talk for 45-minutes straight.
McCain then took the opportunity to talk about the crossroads in American history we all find ourselves in this election year… until Palin interrupted to announce that there were only two minutes left to order the Washington Outsider jewelry!
Which brought McCain to his “Fine Gold” line of jewelry, presented by Cindy McCain. That joke wrote itself. The next one had to reach a bit further, Sarah Palin’s Ayers Freshners, to plug in when “sumthin’ doesn’t quite smell right.” Plus, as Tina said, it keeps on reminding you of William Ayers!
The final official product was John McCain Pork Knives, to “cut the pork out.”
Then Tina’s Palin goes rogue, taking the camera to the side with “PALIN in 2012″ t-shirts, “just wait til after Tuesday to wear them.” Whether they win or not, she says, Palin isn’t going anywhere, she’s either going to be in the White House or be White Oprah.
From off camera, McCain asks, “What’s going on over there, Sarah?”
“Oh, just talkin’ ’bout taxes.”
Before the Senator delivers the obligatory line for opening Saturday Night Live, he tells the QVC audience that he is a true Maverick, a Republican without money, so had no choice but to go on QVC. And unlike Barack Obama, he doesn’t have Hollywood connections, his only showbiz supporters are John Voight and Heidi from the Hills.
He closed with, “When you go to the polls remember “Country First”, and as a reminder, all undergarments are unrefundable.”
John McCain was as willing and funny as I knew he would be. He really seems to have a sense of humor, it’s just been markedly missing, or strangely askew, for the past couple weeks. He got plenty of laughs and alot of applause. He seemed to be a hit.
But then he came on Weekend Update. There was actual booing when he was introduced. Senator McCain delivered an interesting array of “last minute strategies.” The “Reverse Maverick”: where he does whatever anybody tells him. The “Double Maverick”: going totally berserker and freak everybody out. The “Sad Grandpa”: Obama has a lot of time left to run for president, voters should give him a chance. People laughed at his bad ideas, but not in the good way. When Seth Myers asked which he was going to use, McCain got serious for a minute and said he was going to stick with his basic strategy… connect with the voters, stand by his record, etc. And if that doesn’t work, probably the Double Maverick.
One sketch too many, Senator.
Ben Affleck was not as good as I’d hoped he’d be. He had a couple of funny moments, but more than not, he was disappointing. Singer David Cook, on the other hand was excellent.
