Vogue editor "to accept a 'cultural post of some sort for the Obama White House,' according to at least one person in the magazine industry." [Scoop, second item]
The indomitable Anna Wintour attended the 5th Anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund last night in New York City, New York. Despite rumors that Anna may be forced to retire due to low magazine sales, the editor in chief of Vogue seemed no less chic. Well, of course not. If Anna ever DID go down, she’d do it looking utterly fab, we’re sure.

Anna Wintour was one of the many famous faces at the MoMa event honoring Baz Luhrmann in NYC last night, and believe it or not, her outfit was not the craziest one there! For fear that Anna will track me down and beat me with a pair of 5 inch stilettos, I'll try to refrain from saying anything nasty about her choice in clothes. I'm loving the black satin boots, the dress and even the multicolored gemstones draped around her neck, but the coat? Eh.
What do you think? Or can Anna Wintour do no wrong?
New York Magazine posted this hilarious picture of Vogue editor/devil and I just had to share. It’s nice to know that even those in ivory towers have to stand in line to vote like the rest of us on election day. You know she was hating that sh*t.
OMG! It’s Anna Wintour waiting to vote in Soho. Isn’t there just something hilarious about this photo? Wonder if she voted for Obama, because she prefers style over substance, or for McCain, because Sarah Palin showed enviable restraint with accessories?
Remember when people aspired to be magazine editors? So archaic. Editing a magazine has become pedestrian. Now one must be a magabrand curator, lording over an entire stable of loosely related titles that make up your own media mini-empire. Why should Anna Wintour settle for editing Vogue when she could become the "editorial director" of a whole slew of Vogue spinoffs? That was good aspirational thinking. Until yesterday.
Yesterday, Men's Vogue folded. That was a major embarrassment for Anna Wintour. She was a force in the women's fashion world, but she thought she was destined to build her own fashion magazine empire in her own little corner of Conde Nast. MV was supposed to be a big part of that. Now it's dead, along with Fashion Rocks, the huge advertorial project that Conde Nast put on each fall. Teen Vogue is rumored to be shaky as well! That means fashion advertising is weak overall, and Anna's dream is deferred. If not dead.
You know who this should be of concern to? Dave "Abs" Zinczenko! And every other aspiring magabrand mogul. Dave Z made his name editing Men's Health, but now he oversees a bunch of "Health" titles, writes ridiculous "Health" books, and goes on the Today show as an expert all the time. He's not an editor, he's a brand name.
Until the advertising collapses! Then he's back to being just another dude checking copy and approving pages and hopefully getting out of the office in time to go to the gym, not so he can look good on TV, but just so he can feel good for himself.
Don't worry. Pretty soon you'll be thankful just to have those editing jobs. [Pic via Reuters]
Currently staying in the City of Lights, Anna Faris hit the red carpet as she attended the premiere of “Super Blonde” in Paris, France on Monday (October 6).
The movie, which was titled “The House Bunny” in the States, sees Miss Faris star as “a Playboy Bunny who gives an awkward group of college girls a crash course in make-up and men.”

In addition to famous participants like Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, the Malibu triathlon also attracted other famous multi-hyphenates!
Cindy Crawford, who emceed the event was there with Presley and Kaia, to hand out awards to the participants, including first place winner (in the celeb division) Anna Kournikova who competed along with seasoned triathlete, The Bachelor's Andy Baldwin!
Other famous participants included Felicity Huffman and her hubby, William H. Macy.

And it was all for a good cause!
Anna Wintour is the scary domineering overlord of Vogue and, by extension, the entire fashion industry, but did you also know that she is quite old! Fifty-eight years, if you want to split one of the fabulous hairs on her perfectly bobbed head. This fascinating little tidbit was made abundantly clear by the Huffington Post, which for no apparent reason turned into WWTDD yesterday afternoon and posted large high-quality pictures of Wintour's 58-year-old skin. It's seems Vogue has lots of beauty secrets to share, but none that can turn Wintour's face and arms into the tight, baby-smooth softness that her waif-y models possess. (No wonder she's never been on the cover!) With no explanation for this bizarre swipe—and Wintour obviously still filming the video rebuttal for her MySpace page—the New York Observer took it upon themselves to remind the world that the Huffington Post is also run by a scary and equally old lady with clogged pores. So what's up with all the cheap shots?
Well ... just look at them! They old!

It seemed little Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern/Birkhead had just been born when her mother, Anna Nicole Smith, died in her hotel room in Florida under bizarre circumstances. The drama that ensued was every gossip monger’s dream: questionable post mortem photos, certifiable mother, disputed paternity, crazy fake-prince public statements. You couldn’t have made that $%*@ up!
But looking at the face gracing the cover of this week’s Us Weekly, it all seems like a really bad, really old TV movie. Dannielynn, who recently had surgery to correct strabismus (a condition where one eye tends to move inward), turned 2 years old on September 7 and is just as much a cover girl as her mother was! While it’s obvious who her father is, there is just no disputing Dannielynn is her mama’s mini-me.
“On Dannielynn’s second birthday, Larry Birkhead opens up in the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, about raising Anna Nicole Smith’s little girl and shares with Us his own family album of their time together.
“When I take pictures of her she likes looking at them just like her mom did,” Birkhead tells Us.
“Some days I think she looks just like her,” he says of the tot, who who turned 2 on Sept. 7.”
[From US]
Dannielynn is gorgeous and if these pictures are any indication, she could easily follow in her mother’s modeling footsteps. We just all have to send up a prayer that that’s as far down that path as she’ll go.
Like him or not Larry Birkhead seems to be doing a pretty damn good job of raising Dannielynn. She’s always smiling and looks like she loves being with her dad. You also have to give credit where credit is due to Birkhead. While he’s received some money in exchange for doing press with Dannielynn, he’s also moved back to Kentucky to be near his family and ensure that his daughter has a normal life. I would say the last person in this world who actually loved Vicki Lynn Hogan for Vicki Lynn Hogan is making sure her daughter knows it, too.

NOTE: “. . . is better than you” is a Friday feature showcasing multi-million dollar celebrity homes in the hopes of generating feelings of jealousy, hatred, and animosity towards said celebrity. When you get down to the entertainment-dollar-spending core of it, you helped buy that home. Sucker!

Anna Kournikova might not be in Beijing - but she's still goin' for the gold!
The blonde bombshell appears on the cover of the latest issue of Maxim wearing a barely-there gold bikini. Sure, it's not exactly news - but hey, Anna K! Gold bikini! Do you really care?
Of course, now we're just wondering when we can expect a similar cover out of Maria Sharapova!
As the star of the new sorority flick “The House Bunny,” Anna Faris is taking her acting career to the next level. And at last night’s big LA premiere, she was looking fine.
Sporting a beautiful white spaghetti-strap evening gown, Miss Faris told FOX Pop Tarts’ Hollie McKay that getting ready for the role wasn’t all fun and games.
Sure, it may not be the next “Dark Knight” or anything, but the college sorority comedy “The House Bunny” is still making quite a splash.
And last night CosmoGirl magazine hosted an exclusive party and screening event for the new film (slated to hit theaters this Friday, August 22nd) at the Hearst Tower in New York City.

Here are some sweet, sweet photography of Anna Kournikova for the next issue of Maxim. After looking at her flat stomach, tight ass and supple breasts, someone has to make a law prohibiting Anna from wearing anything other than a bikini. It would be a crime to not constantly admire such an excellent body.

Headed out of town on a short trip, Anna Faris was spotted going through a security check point at LAX International Airport on Wednesday afternoon (August 13).
The Scary Movie cutie was ultra casual, wearing a loose fitting blue t-shirt with jeans and tennis shoes while topping off her look off with a grey sweatshirt tied around her neck, a pair of celebrity shades and a large brown tote.
Australian born actress and cute-as-a-button star Anna Torv walks to the set of her new TV series “Fringe” on East 10th Street in Greenwich Village in New York. Fringe is anticipated to be the fourth hit TV series co-created by J. J. Abrams who created shows such as Felicity, Lost, and Alias. This show should be a great one considering its cast, its creators and its plot. Fringe is said to be a cross between The X-Files, Altered States and The Twilight Zone. We will be watching Anna!

- Anna Kournikova gets tired of the same lame questions reporters ask her.
The tabloid said semi-retired Anna Kournikova wants to work for Vogue's Anna Wintour, but really it was the other Russian tennis blonde, Maria Sharapova, who does. Easy way to keep them straight: Sharapova calls her blog posts "doodles," while Kournikova calls them "blogs," just like Arianna Huffington. [Observer]

For his own strange reason Larry Birkhead decided to buy his daughter Dannielynn Hope, lingerie that belonged to her dead mother. Larry spent $3,000 of Danni’s money on lingerie worn by Anna Nicole Smith during a Playboy shoot.
Birkhead told AP that he bought the lingerie for his 1-year-old daughter to remember her mother by, “I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn’t really know about. Playboy was such a big part of Anna’s career.”
“You know, it’s not something I can show today, but something down the road. It’s not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon.”
Birkhead bought a pink bustier for $1,800 and a white negligee for $1,000 at the auction, run by Julien’s Auctions and held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. And perhaps until Dannielynn is old enough, Larry can play a little dress up on the side.
This photograph was taken around 1994 in the parking lot of the old Barfly on Sunset Blvd. Pictured with Anna is one half of Buzz Foto! Well, we were kind of talked into posting this picture, but it is all great fun. We actually had not seen it in years and just received it from our pal paparazzo, Dave Keeler.
Back then, we had another photo agency at the time, Online USA which we eventually sold to Getty Images. Anna was a friend of ours and we met her via our pal Christian Audigier. This was years before Ed Hardy or Von Dutch.
Anna was incredibly warm and kind and had a wonderful quality about her where she could really make you welcome to hang with her. She did not care where you came from or what you had in your pocket.
Look at the size of our cell phone back then! Thank you Dave! You are the best!
