It seems that more and more American celebrities are making their way to Australia these days. And the latest US imports to hit Aussie shores are the Backstreet Boys.
Touring for their latest release (sans Kevin Richardson) “Unbreakable,” Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough touched down at the Sydney International Airport earlier today.

The Backstreet Boys are really more like the Backstreet Men these days, with Nick Carter, the baby of the bunch, fast approaching thirty. Yikes. And with the boys/men set to release a new album "Unbreakable" at the end of the month, they're hoping they can pull off a comeback.
"I think unfortunately we just got - kind of got categorized...I think there was a time period where people, like, didn't want to say they liked us," Carter said. "I just think you just kind of got to get passed that whole stage and, you know, maybe people will start coming back around."Dang if Backstreet's not looking rough and stuff. Apparently Nick Carter and A.J. McLean both have their torsos in the same climate, but Nick's legs are enjoying some summer breezes in his flip-flops and long shorts. You never know when a tropical storm might suddenly break out around your knees.

I'm sure we're all shocked to hear that Lou Pearlman, the man who helped create such boy-band giants at the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, was basically a dirty old man who loved being inappropriate with his clients. An in-depth article in Vanity Fair interviewed a number of men who worked with Pearlman, either in bands or as aspiring singers, and gave reports that stated that Pearlman often made lewd advances toward the young men whose careers he was crafting. A preliminary member of the Backstreet Boys, Phoenix Stone, indicated that Pearlman's behavior towards a young Nick Carter had been "definitely inappropriate." Additionally, Nick's mother, Jane, had this to say of her son's experiences:
"Certain things happened and it almost destroyed our family. I tried to warn everyone. I tried to warn all the mothers . . . I tried to expose him for what he was years ago."Other guys talked about how Pearlman was way into groping the guys, as well as giving...well, you know. Hmm, would this possibly explain somehow why Nick is such a bastard to his ex-girlfriends? I'm not sure. I slept through that one psychology class, but I have a good excuse. It was at like nine in the morning. I'm not a farmer.
