Winona Ryder has found herself in a middle of another controversy but she may be an innocent (but perhaps naive) victim this time. Winona was in Madrid Sunday for a Marie Claire event. Marie Claire loaned Winona and outfit to wear which was accessorized with some bling in the form of a Bulgari bracelet and a ring to wear, worth $125,000 to wear to the shindig.
After Winona left Madrid, the bracelet and ring turned up missing. The morning after the event, at around 6:00 AM, Winona checked out of the hotel. No one from Marie Claire was around to collect the stuff, so she left everything in her hotel room according to TMZ. There’s a report in a French magazine saying Winona claimed she went to the front desk at the hotel and gave the jewelry to the front desk, but the surveillance cam doesn’t show her doing that. The intimation being Winona perhaps stole the jewelry. However TMZ contradicts the magazine saying Winona never said she had taken the jewels to the front desk, and whoever planted the story may be covering up for someone who had access to the room after she left.
I have to say, if Winona did leave the jewelry and clothing in the hotel room instead of taking it to the front desk and making sure it was safe, that doesn’t seem like a real smart move? So far, Winona has not reportedly been contacted by the police.

Jason Chambers an American mixed martial arts fighter and actor who co-hosted a weekly television show called Human Weapon on The History Channel from July 20, 2007 to August 28, 2008, is in trouble with the law.
He was arrested earlier this month after allegedly raping someone in L.A.. Jason who’s also been in several soap operas, was arrested on November 11 on suspicion of sexual assault and drug charges — and TMZ sources hear cops think he may have used intoxicants to commit the rape. The 28-year-old was released after posting $200,000 bail, but he’s due back in court December 5. The DA hasn’t filed charges yet, but a source says that’s coming’ soon. Most recently, Jason has joined up with accomplished fighting stable American Top Team in preparation for his fights.
Update: The L.A. County District Attorney has rejected the case due to insufficient evidence.

Mark Cuban was charged with insider trading in shares of Mamma.com Inc, an Internet search engine firm, the Securities and Exchange Commission said on Monday.
Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team and a participant in Dancing with the Stars last year, faces civil charges by acting on nonpublic information and selling his entire stake in Mamma.com to avoid more than $750,000 in losses, the SEC alleged.
According to the SEC, Quebec-based Mamma.com invited Cuban in June 2004 to participate in a private placement stock offering after he agreed to keep the information confidential.
When Cuban found out that the offering would dilute the holdings of existing shareholders and be sold at a discount to the market price, he became “angry and upset,” the SEC said.
At the end of a call with Mamma.com’s chief executive, Cuban said: “Well, now I’m screwed. I can’t sell,” according to the SEC’s complaint.
However within hours of receiving the information, Cuban told his broker, “Sell what you can tonight and just get me out the next day,” the SEC alleged.
During after-hours trading on June 28, 2004, Cuban sold 10,000 of his 600,000 shares, and the following morning sold his remaining stake.
Later that day, after markets closed, Mamma.com publicly announced its private placement offering. When markets reopened the following day, the company’s stock was down 9.3 percent at $11.89.
“It is fundamentally unfair for someone to use access to nonpublic information to improperly gain an edge on the market,” the SEC’s deputy director of enforcement Scott Friestad said in a statement.
According to the complaint, Cuban later publicly said he had sold his Mamma.com stake because the company was conducting a private investment in public equity (PIPE), which issued shares at a discount to the prevailing market price and would have caused his ownership position to be diluted.
The complaint alleged that Cuban never disclosed to Mamma.com that he was going to sell his shares prior to the company’s announcement.
Mamma.com has since changed its name to Copernic Inc. Shares of Copernic rose 2 cents to 25 cents on Nasdaq on Monday.
Calls to Cuban’s lawyers were not immediately returned.
Cuban, listed by Forbes magazine as one of the 400 richest Americans with an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion, said he intends to contest the allegations. On his blog, Cuban said the matter has no merit and is the result of gross abuse of prosecutorial discretion.
Cuban one of the five finalists to buy the Chicago Cubs pro baseball team, also owns HDNet, a national high-definition television network, and Landmark Theatres. Magnolia Pictures, the theatrical and home entertainment distribution company that he co-owns through the company 2929 Entertainment, released the documentary “Enron: Smartest Guys in the Room.”
He also is the majority partner in ShareSleuth.com, a site that reports on “securities fraud and corporate chicanery,” according to its website.
A disclosure on the website says that Cuban “will periodically make personal investments based on information we uncover. Those investments will be fully disclosed, so that readers can evaluate any potential conflicts of interest.”
The SEC is seeking civil fines and disgorgement or repayments of money he made from violating securities laws.

After a little more than an hour of deliberations this morning, a Los Angeles jury has cleared Keanu Reeves in a civil trial brought by a vengeful paparazzo who claimed he was run over by the actor.
Alison Silva had been seeking $704,974 in compensatory damages from the Matrix star, including medical bills and lost wages, stemming from injuries supposedly sustained in March 2007, when Reeves was pulling out of a parking lot while he tried to get pictures.
According to Silva, he permanently injured his left wrist after getting knocked down by the the 44-year-old actor’s Porsche. Reeves, who actually tended to Silva after the incident, denied backing in to the photog during testimony last week, asserting that camera wielder was walking backwards and tripped over his own feet.
Silva’s credibility was dinged during cross-examination by Reeves’ attorney, who played a video which occurred after the alleged incident with Reeves, showing the plaintiff scaling a razor-wire fence to shoot video of Britney Spears and then using his left hand to brace himself and keep his balance while climbing down—afterwards.
After the jury read its verdict, the Reeves smiled and patted his attorney, Alfred Gerisch, on the back.
“We obviously felt from day one that Mr. Reeves was not negligent,” Gerisch told reporters outside the courtroom after the six-man, six-woman panel rendered its decision. “It’s unfortunate that this lawsuit was brought, and it’s unfortunate that we had to go this far—a lot of time, a lot of effort and obviously a lot of money.”
This was part two of this little drama. In September a judge dismissed assault charges against Reeves brought on by Silva. The judge declared that “There was no evidence of the slightest contact or the slightest touching.” Adding that Reeves did not “act maliciously” as he pulled out of a parking space as Alison had claimed.
Now after failing twice in court, Silva says he’s accepted the outcome.
“I respect the jury’s decision,” he said. “They did what they deemed was correct, and I have to live with that.
“I wish Keanu is happy in his life. I have nothing against Keanu.”
Asked if he’ll continue to snap photos of Reeves, the photog replied, “Why not? It’s a business.”

David Caruso’s famed alleged stalker is in big trouble. The Austrian woman reportedly sent more than 100 letters to the “CSI: Miami” star, pursuing him for an autograph. When Caruso failed to reciprocate with an autograph, she then sent death threats, according to prosecutors in the Austrian province of Tyrol. The 41-year-old woman whose identity is protected under the country’s privacy laws - was charged with stalking and threatening to kill Caruso, but failed to show for her trial in July 2007 and again in April, Innsbruck Provincial Court spokesman Thomas Lechner said.
Judge Guenther Boehler has issued an international warrant for her arrest, Lechner said. The woman is believed to be abroad, possibly in Mexico, the spokesman said without elaborating.
Caruso plays Miami police Lt. Horatio Caine on the crime drama series on U.S. network CBS. Austrian authorities said a 2007 letter allegedly written by the suspect and bearing a Miami postmark was discovered in the actor’s fan mail and threatened the life of Caruso and perhaps his then-girlfriend Lisa Marquez. It read, in part: “I will locate you and your ugly Latina tramp and kill you.”
It is unclear if the Latina reference alluded to Marquez (probably) or actress Alana De La Garza, who played Caruso’s wife on the TV show until her character was killed. A court-appointed psychiatrist testified that the suspect has a “profound personality disorder.” If convicted, she faces up to three years in prison.

Terrence Howard seems to be having a pretty bad month. After seemingly losing his coveted role in the “Iron Man” sequel to Don Cheadle, the Oscar-nominated actor and singer is now being sued for allegedly beating up, a man he worked with.
According to a lawsuit, Terrence allegedly beatdown composer Tex Allen in a backstage assault as they worked together on Broadway’s “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” last winter. The suit alleges that Terrence confronted Allen while he sat at his piano during a Jan. 24 rehearsal at the Walter Kerr Theatre and punched him repeatedly in the face and head.
Now Allen, a jazz pianist and the brother of Debbie Allen, who directed the play, is demanding $5 million for his alleged battered head and face, according to court papers. Allen claims the alleged assault ruined his music playing. Perhaps Terrence recent ‘bad luck’ are tied to his not taking direction so well? It’s terrible to punch someone in the face like that, but one wonders how it ruined his music playing unless it damaged his hearing or something like that, but hopefully it’s not one of those ‘emotional scaring’ deals. Neither Howard nor Allen are commenting right now.

Jennifer Hudson is urging the public to help find her missing 7-year-old nephew Sunday, offering a $100,000 reward. The Oscar-winning singer and actress wrote reached out to her fans online on her MySpace page saying:
“Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities.”
The Dreamgirls star issued the appeal after the double shooting of her mother Darnell Donnerson and her brother Jason Hudson at their home in Chicago, Illinois on Friday. Seven year old Julian King (photo right with his mom, aunt Jennifer and grandmother), the son of Hudson’s sister Julia, was staying with his grandmother when the murders took place, and he has not been seen since.
Julia’s estranged husband William Balfour was arrested by police later that day and is currently being questioned by police over the slayings.
Authorities have issued an Amber Alert in the search of the missing boy, meaning police have launched a statewide campaign to find the child. The FBI have been called in to assist with the search for Julian.
Hudson, who had to identify the bodies of her loved ones, has stepped up the search for her nephew by offering the money and urging anyone with any knowledge of his whereabouts to come forward.
A statement from Hudson’s representative Lisa Kasteler says, “Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian. “We ask that all inquiries be directed to the Chicago Police Department, Area 1 Detective Division at 312/747-8380.”
Update: The body of a young black boy was discovered Monday in an SUV as police continued their search for Jennifer Hudson’s missing 7-year-old nephew. The white SUV was found abandoned on Chicago’s West Side, CNN reports. Police have not yet identified the body. Julian King, 7, went missing Friday after an unidentified assailant fatally shot Hudson’s mother Darnell and brother Jason. Hudson offered $100,000 for the safe return of her nephew.
When police issued an Amber Alert for Julian on Friday, they identified a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859 as connected to the case.

Skylar Deleon, 29, a child star on TV’s “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers,” was convicted Monday of murdering three people, including a couple who were tied to an anchor and thrown off their yacht off the California coast.
An Orange County jury found him guilty of three counts of first-degree murder and special circumstances for financial gain and multiple victims.
Deleon’s attorney had conceded to the jury from the outset that Deleon was guilty but should not be put to death. The penalty phase of the trial will begin Wednesday.
Deleon’s attorney Gary Pohlson told reporters that he plans to convince the jury to spare his client’s life by having Deleon’s relatives and doctors testify during the punishment phase about his troubled past.
“He’s had a horrible, horrible life,” Pohlson said, noting that Deleon’s father abused him and later died of AIDS.
Tom and Jackie Hawks were thrown from their yacht in 2004 during a cruise to show the vessel to Deleon, whom they believed was a prospective buyer.
Prosecutors said Deleon feigned interest in buying the boat and took a test cruise where he and two other men overpowered the Hawkses, forced the couple to sign over ownership of the boat, tied them to the anchor and dumped them into the Pacific Ocean.
The Hawkses’ bodies were never found.
Deleon was also found guilty of murdering Jon Jarvi, of Anaheim, in 2003. Prosecutors had said Deleon met Jarvi in a work furlough program while serving jail time for burglary, and killed him in Mexico after Jarvi gave him $50,000.
Deleon’s then-wife Jennifer Henderson was convicted in 2006 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Three other defendants have pleaded not guilty. Two are accused of being on the yacht when the Hawkses were thrown overboard, and the final defendant is accused of planning the killings but not of being on the boat.
Ryan Hawks, Tom Hawks’ son, called the verdict a “warm up” for the penalty phase.
“It felt like a little tiny piece of the puzzle was put in justice,” he said.

Comedian Andy Dick has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor marijuana possession and battery counts stemming from an incident in in which he pulled a teenage girl’s top down after exiting a sports bar. He was arrested after officers responded to a call about an intoxicated male outside a restaurant in Murrieta, a city about 80 miles east of Los Angeles. Arriving officers found Dick sitting in the front passenger seat of a truck, “mumbling incoherently,” Officer Jason Calvert said in his police report. The other occupants of the vehicle, except the driver, also appeared to be intoxicated, according to Calvert, who said Dick “continued to be oblivious to what was going on” upon arrival at the police station and later passed out on the floor of a holding cell.
The father of three denied touching the teenager, saying several times “that he did not like girls,” and also denied using drugs, though a Xanax pill – Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders – and a small amount of marijuana were found in his pants pocket, according to Calvert.
Dick was ordered to serve three years of probation and wear an alcohol anklet monitor for the next year, court records show. “The anklet monitors the defendant’s alcohol and drug use (through sweat), and if it detects use, law enforcement is notified,” said Ryan Hightower, information officer with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. Dick, 42, must also be enrolled in the Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor, or SCRAM, program by Nov. 17, according to court records. He avoided felony charges stemming from his arrest in mid-July after prosecutors determined Dick did not commit felony sexual battery after a teenage girl accused him of pulling her top down. The “NewsRadio” actor did not appear in a Riverside County courtroom on Friday to answer to the charges, but his attorney stood in for him.

I meant to post this yesterday but got distracted by ice cream and forgot (don’t judge!). It seems Eric and June Emmett, who have worked as housekeepers for the Beckhams’ for over 10 years, were recently arrested. Apparently Eric and June pretty much had the Beckhams’ palatial estate in England to themselves, while the family is living in Los Angeles and allegedly decided to make a little extra cash by selling off some of their valuables on ebay. Posh’s parents discovered some of the family’s stuff being auctioned off, shuttled over to Beckingham Palace and found the items missing. They called the police and the housekeepers were arrested. Their 25-year-old son was also taken in by the cops. Posh flew in from L.A. on Sunday to see what else was missing from their house. A source told The UK Sun, “They are both very shaken. The idea someone has been rifling through their personal possessions is bad enough, but to think it is allegedly people they trusted so much is even more horrific.”
It’s really a sad commentary on the state of our world I think. Greed is just so pervasive, it’s just hard to trust anyone!

Hugh Hefner doesn’t seek alone time after breakups. In his typical style the 82-year-old playboy icon is already on the hunt for new girlfriends just days after longtime loves Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson announced the end of their respective relationships with the Playboy founder.
Hef has admitted he’s considering making 19-year-old twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon official girlfriends. This wouldn’t be Hefner’s first foray into twindom: The 82-year-old dated Bentley sisters Sandy and Mandy in early 2000.
The Shannon sisters, who partied with Hefner on Oct. 4 wearing little more than body paint and briefs, “very much want to be girlfriends,” Hefner told E!. “Now under the present circumstance, they probably will become my girlfriends.”
Hef might just want to do a background check on his prospective new girlfriends. Turns out the handpicked twin successors to the throne apparently come with a checkered past. TMZ reports Karissa and Kristina were both busted by St. Petersburg, Fla. police for felony aggravated battery back in January. The twins went out after work with one of their Wing House co-workers, Erica Civello, to a house party. Kristina allegedly started arguing with Erica, and Karissa came up behind her and hit Erica over the head with a bottle of beer and they both “jumped her.” Erica suffered a concussion. They both received probation and were ordered to pay restitution to the two victims. Karissa also has a misdemeanor battery charge on her record from 2007. Also Karissa was arrested just two months before she and sister Kristina were pinched for the aggravated assault back in January. In this case, however, she was popped for kicking her own twin sister in the face. According to the charge report: When cops showed up, Kristina was lying on the ground outside their apartment “wearing only blue jean pants” and “bleeding from her nose,” while Karissa was standing over Kristina asking who had done this, “as if she had no idea what had happened.”
However a neighbor said he witnessed the one twin kicking the other twin in the face, though “he could not identify which sister was which.” Karissa eventually owned up. Lovely girls these two. Hef might like wild women but maybe not one’s that could seriously kick his ass if he pisses them off.
Amy Leigh Andrews, a 24-year-old college senior from Georgia ( photo right in red dress), is also angling for a spot in the bedroom line-up. “She was testing here this past weekend and she said she’d like to be a girlfriend, too,” Hefner said.

In the latest in a series of clashes between celebrities and paparazzi in Los Angeles, Gerard Butler is under criminal investigation for allegedly assaulting a photog. It allegedly went down early Tuesday in L.A. where Gerard was leaving Crown Bar at 2:00 AM and got into his limo.
The photographer said Butler got out of the car and threw three or four punches at him, which resulted in a hospital visit for stitches to his lip. TMZ found witnesses with a very different account. They are saying the photog was tailing Gerard for hours. And, they say, the pap was driving “recklessly” as he “chased” Butler’s limo, almost hitting several pedestrians. The photog of course says he endangered no one.
The witnesses say after Gerard allegedly got out of the limo and struck the photog in the face, the photog continued following Butler for more than an hour before going to the hospital. But the agency the photog works for says Gerard struck their man at 1:45 AM and he was at the police station at 2:10 AM. Ultimately Butler could be in big trouble regardless of the photogs behavior, for taking matters into his own hands fists instead of calling the cops.

One would have to say the headline ‘O.J. Simpson Found Guilty’ is rather ironically belated. But ‘The Juice’ just couldn’t stay out of trouble and the legal system was more then ready to welcome him back to trail. Thirteen years to the day after being acquitted of killing his wife and her friend, O.J. Simpson and his co-defendant, Clarence “C.J.” Stewart, were found guilty on all 12 counts they faced, including conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery, assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon. Both could face life in prison. The jury deliberated for more than 13 hours before pronouncing the verdict. The 61-year-old former football star released a heavy sigh as the charges were read and was immediately taken into custody. Perhaps just thirteen years too late though!

This is really sad to hear. Race car driver Helio Castroneves who recently gained wider fame by winning “Dancing with the Stars,” is in big trouble with the IRS. He has been indicted today in Miami for allegedly not paying taxes on more than $5 million. Helio was indicted along with his sister, Katiucia Castroneves, and Alan Miller, Helio’s lawyer on charges of Conspiracy to Defraud the U.S. and Tax Evasion.
Helio and two others are accused of using “an offshore Panamanian shell corporation, Seven Promotions, to conceal and disguise the true and correct amount of Helio Castroneves’ income from the Internal Revenue Service.”
The three are charged with conspiracy “for the purpose of impeding, impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful government functions of the Internal Revenue Service.”
They are accused of trying to “conceal and disguise” Helio’s income. One of the charges is that Helio received $2 million in salary from a Brazilian trading company but made it appear that he only received $200,000.
The Conspiracy and Tax Evasion charges are each punishable by a maximum of five years in federal prison. Yikes!!

Shia LaBeouf won’t be charged with drink driving following his July 27th car accident in Hollywood that left him with a shattered hand. Authorities arriving at the scene suspected the Transformers star had been drinking, but the Los Angeles District Attorney has declared there isn’t enough evidence to bring a case against the actor. LaBeouf, who was arrested before undergoing hand surgery after the collision, has already avoided blame in the near-fatal accident. A 21-year-old man was cited for running a red light and causing the crash last month.
LaBeouf’s Transformers director Michael Bay has never doubted his young star’s sobriety on the night of the crash. At the time of the accident, Bay said, “He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before… That’s (DUI rumour) gonna go away.?
However he is not getting off scot-free. Shia will almost certainly have his license suspended because he refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. TMZ reports Shia’s DMV hearing is tomorrow.
Shia had no idea he’d smashed his left hand to smithereens in a near-fatal car accident in July (08) because he was too concerned about his passenger, actress ISABEL LUCAS.
The movie star flipped his truck twice after he collided with another vehicle in Hollywood.
He has since undergone surgery on his hand and must now undergo a second procedure so he can have full functionality again.
But he admits that, immediately after the crash, he had no idea that he needed hand-saving surgery.
He says, “You’re in fight or flight mode. There was a lot going on.
“It hit on her (Lucas) side, so I was extremely fearful of that and then it was about getting her out, getting the people in the other car out, and only after everything’s settled, then you realise what’s happened.” The other driver, Simon Herbert has been cited for running a red light and causing the 70 mile-per-hour crash.
By the way Shia’s new movie ‘Eagle Eye’ is now in theatres and iit appears to be getting good reviews.

A judge in California has ruled that Sharon Stone will no longer share joint custody of her oldest son Roan with her ex-husband Phil Bronstein.
In October 2004, the court gave Phil and Sharon joint custody of Roan. Sharon recently filed papers asking for changes to the arrangement, but she still wanted to keep joint custody. According to the court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight from a Sept. 12 custody hearing, Phil Bronstein “shall have permanent sole physical custody of child. Court finds that Respondent (Sharon Stone) failed to meet her burden of proof and denies Respondent’s (Sharon Stone’s) request for modification of custody.”
The judge said that the ruling is permanent unless circumstances change. The ruling seems harsh but we are hearing that Sharon’s request involved some kind of move, so the judge ruled in favor of Roan staying with his dad in the bay area.
Phil, a newspaper editor and Sharon were married in 1998. They adopted Roan in 2000. They divorced in 2004. Sharon also adopted two other sons, Laird Vonne Stone and Quinn Kelly.

A judge in Los Angeles has dismissed assault charges against Keanu Reeves by a paparazzo who claimed the actor hit him with his car, on purpose.
Photog Alison Silva claims he was hit by Keanu’s Porsche back in March 2007 while photographing him.
Keanu’s lawyers argued that Alison had actually placed his hand on Keanu’s car and tripped over his own feet.
The judge declared that “There was no evidence of the slightest contact or the slightest touching.” Adding that Reeves did not “act maliciously” as he pulled out of a parking space as Alison had claimed.
The judge stated that Alison could not seek punitive damages against Keanu. Alison though is continuing with a negligence claim, which will now go to trial in October.
Alison’s attorney, Joseph Farzam, says “Mr Silva is still entitled to fully recover his damages for the injuries he sustained. It’s much easier to prove that someone was being careless than to prove that Mr Reeves intended to harm Mr Silva.”
The attorney added that Alison suffered a broken wrist when he fell, which could cause him to remain partially disabled.
As for Reeves, he confirmed in a statement that, “At no time did my vehicle make contact with Mr Silva other than when [he] bent over and placed his hand on the hood of my car.”
And even after Alison fell, Keanu stopped the car and brought him some water.

Heather Mills is suing her former spokesperson Michele Elyzabeth. It only surprises that it took so long for Mills to get around to filing the lawsuit. Michele represented Heather for four years, before they bitterly split. Michele then went to the papers claiming all types of things about Heather, including that she purposely tried to smear Paul McCartney’s name during their divorce. She also allegedly called Heather money-obsessed, a pathological liar and the biggest bitch on the planet. These seem to be knownl truths but Heather now wants $500,000 from Michele for breach of confidence and illegal lie telling.
Of course if Heather sued every person who thought bad of her, she would probably have to drag most of England into court. And they don’t mess around in the UK, the case is expected to be heard within the next eight weeks.

Kanye West was arrested at LAX today for felony vandalism. While at the American Airlines terminal a still photographer started snapping his camera at him. Kanye wasn’t feeling very photogenic, and snatched the photog’s camera and smashed it on the ground.
TMZ was on the scene filming the action above and became part of the act. Kanye’s bodyguard tried to stop the shooting and tried wrestling the camera away. The bodyguard prevailed and threw the camera to the ground, breaking it.
According to the TMZ camera guy here’s what happened next. Kanye tried to leave to board his plane, but cops stopped him before he got to security. The cops then interviewed the TMZ video guy (Erik), the still photog, Kanye and his assistant.
This is where it gets even crazier. The cops asked Erik if he videotaped the incident and Erik said he had. That’s when Kanye lunged toward him and said, “Give me the fu***ng videotape.” Cops had to restrain Kanye as he tried coming at Erik. Kanye and his assistant are currently being booked for felony vandalism.

Comedian Ron White has reportedly been arrested for possession of marijuana after he was stopped by police as he stepped off a plane in Florida.
The Grammy-nominated funnyman, who performs with Jeff Foxworthy as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, is said to have been detained by cops in Vero Beach, Florida, today after flying in for a show.
Officers allegedly found a small amount of pot and a pipe, and the comedian was arrested. He was later charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and less than 20 grams of marijuana, and was released on $1,000 bail.
White turned up an hour late for his show that evening at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce.
Officer John Morrison, of Vero Beach Police, said they had received an anonymous tip-off that a passenger on an airplane due to land at 5 p.m. on Wednesday would be carrying illegal drugs. Only White and the pilot were on the plane, and the 51-year-old comedian was cooperative with detectives, Morrison said. Well I guess White has one more arrest story to use in his skits.

“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling has won her copyright infringement lawsuit against a fan and Web site operator who was set to publish a Potter encyclopedia.
Rowling and Warner Bros., maker of the Harry Potter films and owner of intellectual property rights to the Potter books and movies, filed a lawsuit against Michigan-based RDR Books last year to stop publication of material from the Harry Potter Lexicon Web site. Steve Vander Ark, a former school librarian, runs the site, which is a guide to the Potter books and includes detailed descriptions of characters, creatures, spells and potions.
Though Rowling had once praised the Web site, she testified earlier this year that the lexicon was nothing more than a rearrangement of her material.
She said she was so distressed at the prospect that it would be published that she had stopped work on a new novel. “It’s really decimated my creative work over the last month,” she said during the trial in April.
If the lexicon is published, she went on, “I firmly believe that carte blanche will be given to anyone who wants to make a quick bit of money, to divert some Harry Potter profits into their own pockets.”
Vander Ark, a devoted fan of Rowling, began work on his Web site in 1999 and launched it in 2000.
The small, Muskegon-based publisher was not contesting that the lexicon infringes upon Rowling’s copyright but argued that it was a fair use allowable by law for reference books. In his ruling, Patterson noted that reference materials are generally useful to the public but that in this case, Vander Ark went too far.
U.S. District Judge Robert P. Patterson said Rowling had proven that Steven Vander Ark’s “Harry Potter Lexicon” would cause her irreparable harm as a writer. He permanently blocked publication of the reference guide and awarded Rowling and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. $6,750 in statutory damages.
“While the Lexicon, in its current state, is not a fair use of the Harry Potter works, reference works that share the Lexicon’s purpose of aiding readers of literature generally should be encouraged rather than stifled,” he said.
He added that he ruled in Rowling’s favor because the “Lexicon appropriates too much of Rowling’s creative work for its purposes as a reference guide.”
Vander Ark will no longer be able to publish his book. He still runs the Harry Potter Lexicon website, though.

Ed McMahon’s house has been bought, but as it turned out it wasn’t ‘white knight’ Donald Trump to the rescue. McMahon has found a private buyer for his hilltop home, according to Howard Bragman, the former “Tonight” show sidekick’s spokesman. McMahon’s property is located in a hilltop gated community that is also home to Britney Spears.
Bragman declined to name the buyer or the selling price to the AP. But he said it isn’t real estate mogul Donald Trump, who recently offered to buy McMahon’s home and act as a landlord. This sounds like a better situation for McMahon who was facing foreclosure on his home after he defaulted on a $4.8 million loan.
Bragman said McMahon and his wife, Pamela, will move out of the home when the sale is complete.
McMahon has said he was experiencing financial troubles because he was unable to work after falling and breaking his neck in March 2007. It’s also been speculated that his wife’s spending habits are the reason for the financial woes. TMZ ‘reported’ that Pamela McMahon is “oblivious” to the late night legend’s cash troubles, and shops like their life depended on it. The 85-year-old has for years worked as a pitchman and recently resumed that role, appearing with comedian Jimmy Kimmel to advertise Pontiac vehicles.
McMahon has faced money woes for months, with debtors filing lawsuits against him for everything from unpaid prescription medicines to loans.
One lawsuit is seeking more than $750,000 from McMahon for unpaid loans and fees attorneys say McMahon agreed to pay to handle his daughter’s divorce in New York.
McMahon also has his own lawsuit going against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and two doctors filed in July, accusing them of discharging him with a broken neck after his fall in 2007. He also alleged the hospital botched two neck surgeries.
The hospital responded in court filings on Wednesday by asking a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to throw out many of McMahon’s claims.
Attorneys for Cedars-Sinai wrote that McMahon’s lawsuit failed to prove allegations of fraud, battery, elder abuse and emotional distress. They also want to prevent McMahon from seeking punitive damages.
A hearing on the lawsuit is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Batman star Christian Bale will not face charges over claims he assaulted his mother and sister, according to reports. Bale was arrested in London last month over accusations he pushed his estranged mother and sister at the city’s Dorchester Hotel before the British premiere of The Dark Knight. The 34-year-old actor was questioned by U.K. police over the incident and was subsequently released on bail.
Prosecutors suggested their decision on Thursday to drop the case was based in part on the family members’ wishes.
Bale, who denies the allegation, said through his spokeswoman, Jennifer Allen, that he was relieved the issue had been settled.
The actor “hopes to put the matter firmly behind him” and will be providing no further comment, Allen said in a statement released by Bale’s lawyers.

This is stunning news, but Batman star Christian Bale has been apparently accused of assaulting his mother and sister. The actor’s mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, claim Bale lashed out at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night July 20th, and they reportedly filed a police report in Hampshire, England on Monday (21Jul08).
Th authorities were reluctant to speak to Bale on Monday, because he was promoting his new movie, The Dark Knight, in London, for the first European screening . A source tells The UK Sun, “It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth. A mother filed a report against their son and they have serious doubts?
“But Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened.” A police spokesman says, “We can confirm we have received allegation from another force in relation to an alleged incident in central London.”
Police are expected to make attempts to question the Wales-born actor today. But one expects with the way authorities tip-toe around celebrities that this will likely all get swept under the rug quickly, unless Christian’s mom talks with the press. Interesting side note, Christian’s father who is now deceased divorced his mother (jenny) and married Gloria Steinem.
Update: Christian Bale has turned himself into police voluntarily in response to the domestic assault charge. He went to Belgravia police station in central London earlier today and is still there, being held in custody.
When asked if Bale had been arrested, a police spokesman said “A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody.”
His family is not talking, which is a good thing right now.

Rapper DMX was arrested again for the 6th time in almost 3 months. Maybe he just hasn’t found a mug shot he is satisfied with yet? That’s his new one on the right. He was reportedly collared this time at a mall in Phoenix yesterday for allegedly giving a fake name and Social Security number to a hospital in order to get out of paying medical bills.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, used the name “Troy Jones” to try to allegedly get out of paying a $7,500 bill.
He was arrested and booked. Bond has not been set.
The sheriff of Maricopa County said, “He’s back in jail again. I don’t know why judges keep letting this guy out. Every time he goes in there, he gets out on bond. I’m hoping this is the one time he’s going to pay the penalty for his offense”
The sheriff also noted that if DMX should remain in jailed, he would be isolated from the rest of the inmates for his own safety. “They may not like his music,” he said.

Sadly Ed McMahon filed suit Friday against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a billionaire homeowner over a broken neck the TV personality suffered when he fell at a dinner party.
McMahon, 85, Johnny Carson’s sidekick on The Tonight Show and a longtime product pitchman, says the injury has prevented him from working and has contributed to his financial crisis. This comes when his house in Beverly Hills, California is in foreclosure, $644,000 in arrears on a $4.8 million loan!
It’s alleged that his wife’s spending habits are the reason Ed McMahon is losing his house. TMZ says Pamela McMahon is “oblivious” to the late night legend’s cash troubles, and shops like their life depended on it. That’s causing an issue for Ed’s friends, who are conflicted about bailing him out. They don’t want to see their 85-year-old friend foreclosed on and homeless, but they also don’t want to encourage Pamela’s passion for Prada. Well if Ed’s friends aren’t going to help him, it appears he is going to help himself to their money.
According to the L.A. Superior Court suit, McMahon tumbled on “unsafe entry stairs” at a March 2007 dinner party at the home of Robert Day, the founder of the Los Angeles investment management firm TCW Group. He slips and falls at a “friends” house and now he’s going to sue him!
The suit also claims McMahon was rushed to Cedars, but a doctor failed to diagnose his broken neck and then discharged him, the suit alleges. Only weeks later was the injury discovered, but treatment – including spinal surgery – “fell below the applicable standard of care.
“We had hoped to avoid a lawsuit, but our discussions were not fruitful and we were left with no other option,” says McMahon’s spokesman, Howard Bragman. “That being said, we believe our suit has great merit and we expect a favorable resolution.”
Well that’s one way to get out of debt but watch out for Karma!

Actor Dennis Farina was sentenced to two years probation today (July 17th) after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors for carrying a loaded handgun into Los Angeles International Airport.
Security guards stopped Farina at the airport on May 11 after they discovered he was carrying a .22 caliber, semi-automatic pistol in his briefcase.
Farina was scheduled to catch a flight home to Chicago. He told police that he brought the gun with him on a drive from Arizona to Los Angeles and forgot he had it.
It was an embarrassing situation for Farina, 64, a former cop who played a New York detective on the television crime series “Law & Order.” The next day he issued a statement blaming the incident on his “own stupidity.”
The actor pleaded no contest, which is roughly equivalent to a guilty plea, to carrying a weapon into a secure area of an airport. Other charges of possessing a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded weapon in a public place were dismissed. In addition to the probation sentence Farina was also ordered to pay $1,991 in fines and penalties, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Actor Paul Hogan known for his CROCODILE DUNDEE movies is being investigated by authorities in his native Australia over alleged tax liabilities.
Aussie officials probing the actor have brought in the The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help - by ordering three American banks to hand over nine years’ worth of his personal banking records.
Four companies related to the 68-year-old are also under investigation, court documents in Los Angeles reveal.
According to newspaper The Australian, Hogan is fighting the move, accusing the Australian Taxation Office of being on a “long-distance fishing expedition” to unlawfully obtain “irrelevant” information.
Hogan is the most high-profile target of a AUS$300 million ($290 million/£145 million) operation into tax fraud and evasion. It is thought attention turned to Hogan after details of a number of offshore trusts and companies holding AUS$40 million ($38.8 million/£19.4 million) was leaked to the press in 2005.
Hogan though speaking outside his mansion in Santa Barbara California, said: “They should build a statue of me up there at the tax office.”
“Come and get me,” Hogan said with a grin, in an obscenity-laced statement addressed to the Australian Taxation Office.
