We really don't know much about this Phantom star, but she always seems about as sweet as that spun sugar she's holding in her hand!
Why hasn't she become a break out star along the lines of Anne Hathaway?

Still trying to put her devastating loss on “Dancing With the Stars” out of her mind, Kim Kardashian was spotted getting down at One Sunset restaurant and lounge in West Hollywood last night (October 2).
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” babe looked stunning as she goofed around with Caroline D’Amore, sporting a grey dress with a thick black belt and black heels.

Phantom of the Opera star Emmy Rossum spent some of her summer in the Bahamas kissing dolphins and blogging about it.
The actress, 22, blogged about the experience at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas on her MySpace page. “The dolphin’s skin is so smooth and soft,” Rossum writes. “They are the sweetest, most intelligent creatures. It was an awesome, albeit a little man-made, experience.”
It would be fun to swim with dolphins, even in a “man-made” situation…
Ok, I’ll be honest, that’s not really why I’m telling you this. Emmy Rossum isn’t why I’m telling you this, either. It’s really just an excuse to show you this amazing dolphin clip a friend emailed to me yesterday. The Rossum story just served as a celebrity segue.
If you haven’t seen it, take a minute and enjoy!
The video is of dolphins playing with silver colored rings which they have the ability to make under water to play with. It isn’t known how they learn this, or if it’s an inbred ability. As if by magic the dolphin does a quick flip of its head and a silver ring appears in front of its pointed beak. The ring is a solid, donut shaped bubble about 2-ft across, yet it doesn’t rise to the surface of the water! It stands upright in the water like a magic doorway to an unseen dimension. The dolphin then pulls a small silver donut from the larger one. Looking at the twisting ring for one last time a bite is taken from it, causing the small ring to collapse into a thousands of tiny bubbles which head upward towards the water’s surface. After a few moments the dolphin creates another ring to play with. There also seems to be a separate mechanism for producing small rings, which a dolphin can accomplish by a quick flip of its head. An explanation of how dolphins make these silver rings is that they are ‘air-core vortex rings’. Invisible, spinning vortices in the water are generated from the tip of a dolphin’s dorsal fin when it is moving rapidly and turning.. When dolphins break the line, the ends are drawn together into a closed ring. The higher velocity fluid around the core of the vortex is at a lower pressure than the fluid circulating farther away. Air is injected into the rings via bubbles released from the dolphin’s blowhole. The energy of the water vortex is enough to keep the bubbles from rising for a reasonably few seconds of play time.

The 60th Annual Primetime Emmys, held last night at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, was one of television’s biggest nights of the year. And once the action inside the theater was over, there was plenty of post-awards show fun to be had.
Stars like Hayden Panettiere, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Robbins headed over to the HBO Post-Emmys Reception to chill out and relax. The “Heroes” hottie looked stunning in a navy blue dress with black accents.
There’s been all kinds of buzz about her Emmy gown design, but as it turns out that was only one facet of Lauren Conrad’s fabulous night at the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
The “Hills” hottie had the esteemed pleasure of joining hunky “Bones” stud David Boreanaz onstage to present an award, clad in her gorgeous strapless navy blue floor-length gown.
Coming off a successful battle with breast cancer, Christina Applegate was spotted arriving at the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, looking amazing.
The “Samantha Who” actress walked the red carpet in a powder blue one-shoulder dress with gold accents topped off with some stunning earrings and a prom-style updo.

Tina Fey and her awesome show 30 Rock scored some major Emmy victories last night. They took home seven awards including best comedy, best actor and actress for Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey. She also won a best writer award.
Family seemed to be on her mind a lot during the evening, as she thanked her parents but gave them a most unusual (and self-deprecating) compliment.
“I thank my parents for somehow raising me to have confidence that is disproportionate with my looks and abilities. Well done. That is what all parents should do,” said Fey, who also won for best actress and writing in a comedy series.
[From Yahoo News]
There’s a similar theme surrounding Fey’s character on 30 ROCK, who often seems hard to distinguish form Fey herself. Although she’s obviously being funny, that’s one of those jokes you can tell has a lot of truth behind it, especially because it’s a reoccurring theme. Nonetheless, it’s also a funny way of thanking her parents for always making her feel good about herself and feel like she had self-worth, so I bet she makes sure to be that kind of parent.
There were also a lot of questions about Tina’s Sarah Palin impersonation, which got rave reviews and became the number one most watched viral video on NBC.com. Fey said Palin is not a character she plans on playing again, and she was initially hesitant to even acknowledge the uncanny resemblance. However she gave in when her daughter was watching Palin on TV and thought she was Fey.
As it turns out, Fey would rather not see Palin become a regular character on “SNL.”
“I want to be done playing this lady November 5th,” Fey said when asked backstage about how she feels about the election. “So, if anyone can help me be done playing her on November 5th…”
Fey added that Palin “seems like a perfectly nice lady,” but that she had been reluctant at first to admit that they look alike.
“I was very resistant to acknowledge that there was a resemblance,” Fey said. “Then my kid saw Sarah Palin on TV and said ‘That’s Mommy.’”
Finally, Fey asked enlisted reporters’ help in finding her purse, which disappeared after she left it under her seat in L.A.’s Nokia theater. “If anyone sees a small purple purse with an iPhone in it with a picture of a naked toddler,” she said.

I really have a special love for Tina Fey. That came out wrong. But I think I do have a girl crush on her. There’s this great line in 30 Rock when her character Liz Lemmon meets her idol, who’s also a television writer, played by Carrie Fisher. She greets her by saying, “You are my heroine. And by heroine I mean lady hero; I don’t want to inject you and listen to jazz.” I’m pretty sure that line right there won her at least 2 Emmys. And made her my heroine. Though if I were ever to inject anything, it’d totally be Tina Fey.

In what’s being considered one of the funnier awards shows in the recent past, the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards took over Los Angeles, being held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday night (September 21).
Keeping consistent with the nominations, the night saw HBO’s miniseries John Adams, as well as NBC’s comedy 30 Rock and AMC’s drama Mad Men, take home the most trophies.
They’re a red carpet mainstay, and earlier tonight Eva Longoria and her hubby Tony Parker showed up at the 60th Annual Primetime Emmys looking quite amazing.
The “Desperate Housewives” diva looked ravishing in a silver strapless frilly dress with matching massive silver heels, while her NBA beau rocked a grey suit with black leather wingtips.
It’s her big night- not only is she a presenter, but she also designed one of the official Emmy trophy girl gowns. And Lauren Conrad brought her fashion A-game to the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
The “Hills” hottie arrived at the festivities, held tonight at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, sporting a sexy strapless navy blue floor-length gown with a coordinating brooch and bracelet.
The stars are out on the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, as the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards are almost underway.
Among those in the crowd were “Desperate Housewives” actresses Teri Hatcher and Nicollette Sheridan, along with “The Office” actress Jenna Fischer and the night’s hosts, among others.
It’s one of television’s biggest nights of the year, and the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards looks to be full of promise. If host Heidi Klum is any indication, there will be plenty of pomp and circumstance at tonight’s festivities.

The 22-year-old reality starlet has been focusing much of her energy on fashion as of late - as she’s been promoting her latest collection and designing a dress for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Comedian Sarah Silverman thanked her former boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel after receiving an Emmy for her song with Matt Damon. The video was made to be a joke where Silverman was singing about cheating on her then boyfriend, actor Kimmel.
“Let’s be honest, Matt Damon had very little to do with this being popular,” Silverman explained while receiving her award at the Creative Art Emmy Awards (airing September 20th). “I’m F----- Matt Damon.”
The New York City shutterbugs were all over at the Loft and Garden at Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan last night. And with good reason- stars like Leighton Meester, Mena Suvari, Emmy Rossum, Liv Tyler, and Maggie Gyllenhaal were all there as well!
And it was all in the name of fashion as Piaget hosted the Limelight Paris-New York collection shindig, unveiling new looks and partying all night.
Keeping things casual in sweats and a tank top, Lauren Conrad was all about taking care of errands on what was a beautiful Wednesday (August 6) in Hollywood, California.
The MTV reality starlet first grabbed up her morning iced coffee drink from Coffee Bean before popping into Whole Foods for a bit of shopping with a friend.
Emmy Rossum was looking summery in her dress and vest yesterday in Beverly Hills. The Phantom of the Opera star got her nails did at Nails Design. Emmy Rossum gave us a very sweet smile as she walked in in a very high pair of espadrilles! Careful in those stilts, Emmy! While she was sitting at the salon chair, she asked the paparazzi about the color that they would suggest getting; they responded with purple and Emmy said that she would keep it in mind. We may be the world’s first paparazzi/nail style advisors. Next up for Emmy? The Dragonball movie, where she sports a very silly-looking wig.

Wearing her own vintage New Jersey Devil’s uniform with her name on the back, Emmy Rossum sings the National Anthem

Perhaps these singing engagements are to help publicize the release of her CD (I almost said album). It’s just out and entitled “Inside Out” (on Geffen). Her voice is kind of dreamy and she sings the lead, backup, and the chorus and her voice is even used as instrumentation here and there. It’s all fairly quiet ballad-type songs that’s really nice and relaxing to listen to. Emmy wrote the lyrics and almost all of the music, making it a very personal album.

As the who’s who of Hollywood gathered at the Shrine Auditorium for the 59th annual Emmy Awards last night, one thing was made abundantly clear… bold colors were the way to go.
The red carpet was dazzled with celebs sporting all kinds of getups, and the powerful hues were an unapologetic departure from the usual subtlety of the event.
Last night marked the 59th Anniversary of the Emmy Awards. And the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles was packed by Hollywood’s A-list to see who won what. And “The Sopranos” walked away with three awards, including the coveted “Outstanding Drama Series” honors.
The now-defunct HBO series was lucky to win the award, as it rarely goes to a show that has been canceled. Tony and the gang also snagged trophies for “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.”
Yes, that's right, guys. For the first time ever, I will actually be live-blogging the Emmys on Sunday (on FOX at 8PM/7c) giving you up-to-the-minute coverage of HOURS of Emmy happenings. I hope you guys appreciate this, because I HATE watching awards shows, but I really, really love web traffic...and entertaining you readers, of course, with my off-the-cuff commentary and complaining. Because I know I'm oh-so-entertaining when I'm griping about actually having to do my job. So, for those of you without TVs, or who would like a supplement to your Emmy watching, be sure to get online and check out ASL for your snarky Emmy coverage.
In addition, Keegan Hornbeck of Recapist will also be putting in his two cents for the red-carpet pre-show, and for those of you familiar with his somewhat maligned, misanthropic "Law & Order: SVU" and "American Inventor" recaps, I'm sure his take on this year's fashion trends will be an interesting one. I have a feeling he'll recommend more cleavage across the board.
