After the election of Barack Obama, Daniel Craig, star of Quantum Solace, suggested that maybe the next Bond should be black. Jamie Foxx was quick to respond saying he would love to land that role.
He told Access Hollywood,
“Of course! I’d put a little swing in it. A little hip-hop, you know. Maybe not drinking martinis, but drinking some Hennessey maybe. Bond would drink dark liquor.
“I was in London and I had to give an award to Daniel Craig and I went up and said, Bond. Black Bond. And everybody just lost it. Black Bond would be cool.”

in April of this year. The story is so compelling that it was made into a screenplay and production was started on the film before the book was released. The Soloist will be out in the US on November 21, just in time for Oscar season. Judging from the trailer it’s likely to be nominated in several categories. It looks like an incredible mix of a highly watchable and meaningful film and I know I’m looking forward to seeing it.
