It’s on again! A new rap chart battle between Kanye West and 50 Cent will likely happen this December as both will release new albums. West won the last showdown when his album Graduation outsold 50’s Curtis last year (Sep07), after both records were released on the same day. Supposedly 50 said before the last album showdown: “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on Sept. 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”
And now the rappers are set for another pre-Christmas showdown, with Interscope record bosses confirming 50’s new album, Before I Self Destruct, will hit stores on December 9, (08) - a week before the release of West’s 808’s & Heartbreak.
Both rappers are warming up for the showdown. At a show in Albany, New York, 50 jokingly performed a bit of West’s recent single, “Love Lockdown,” while G-Unit member Tony Yayo pretended to smash a camera, referring to West’s arrest after a confrontation with paparazzi in Los Angeles last week.
West has already taken to his blog posting on Friday in good humor: “I guarantee this (808’s & Heartbreak) will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year.”
It’s still possible that one of the record labels might blink and change the release dates but somehow with so much pride on the line we doubt it.

The New York Post reports that Nicole Richie became so enraged when a Swedish fan tried to take her picture outside an after-party for Charlotte Ronson's show, that she "jumped over the velvet rope, ripped the camera out of the girl's hand, and smashed it to the ground," and screamed "I am not an animal!"

Kanye West had plenty of time today to enthuse about the latest in art, fashion and music - or at least to post links and photos for the stuff, but so far all he’s only written two lines on his blog about the incident at LAX yesterday which resulted in his arrest:“We back in the lab!!! I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool. I gotta work now… I’ll rant later!” [From Kanye West’s official blog]
Kanye was videotaped throwing down a paparazzo’s camera at the airport on Thursday morning. His road manager approached another photographer videotaping the scene and then smashed his camera to the ground. The police came and arrested the two, and according to an eyewitness photographer’s account, shown on TMZ, Kanye lunged at him when he heard that he had video of the incident and had to be restrained by the cops.
Kanye and his road manager were arrested for felony vandalism and released on $20,000 bail. Kanye apparently had enough time to post 12 other brief entries on his blog today about art and fashion, but couldn’t be bothered to take the time to explain what happened yet. It’s more important for Kanye to cement his status as a trend setter than set the record straight on his biggest PR disaster. He probably has someone else posting that other stuff, though, and maybe he’ll soon explain what went down in his half-caps flow of consciousness style. The paparazzi can be incredibly invasive and obnoxious, but Kanye’s behavior has just shown that he can dish it out but he can’t take it.

Kanye West was arrested and later released on bail yesterday after what police are charging as “felony vandalism.”
On Thursday, TMZ.com reported that West was arrested after grabbing a camera — valued at more than $10,000 — that belonged to a member of the paparazzi and throwing it to the ground, smashing it.
This goes to show you that Kanye is more than a simple money grabbing whining baby whore –he’s also sincere. Only a man with a big heart would observe 9/11 by opting to obstain from the public eye and then throwing a beat down at the airport. Bravo.

Just days after his remarkable performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7) it seems that Kanye West has had a run in with the law.
Reports say that the “Gold Digger” singer, 31, was arrested earlier today (September 11) at 7:51 a.m. outside of the passenger screening area at LAX International Airport by airport police. He was charged with vandalism after supposedly damaging a paparazzo’s camera that was valued at $10,000.

Kanye's bodyguard Don Crowley just got taken into the LAPD Pacific Division in cuffs, after his altercation with a photographer at LA International Airport this morning.
The police department says Kanye's already inside the department building -- probably bailing himself out, according to what the Pacific Division's Sgt. Probst told me earlier:
- "He's got about a million billion dollars, so he'll probably bail out. I doubt he wants a jail burrito for dinner."
- Entertainer Kanye West and Don Crowley, his road manager and body guard, were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, today by Los Angeles World Airports Police following an altercation with two members of the paparazzi. The incident occurred at 7:51 a.m.
West and Crowley were at Terminal 4 to depart on a flight to Honolulu. In the public area prior to passenger screening, they were met by a photographer and videographer who were taking their photos. An altercation ensued between the two cameramen, West and Crowley.
The cameras of the paparazzi were damaged in the altercation.
West and Crowley were taken into custody, each charged with felony vandalism. Airport Police had initially received the call as also involving a potential battery. However, following initial investigation, it was determined that no battery occurred.
Both men have been transported to Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division for booking.

Apparently Kanye didn’t want his picture taken so he “rushed” a photographer, took his camera, and smashed it to the ground. TMZ videographer “Erik” caught it all on tape which didn’t sit well with Kanye’s assistant, who then grabbed the camera and smashed it to the ground. TMZ continues:
Erik says Kanye then tried to leave to board his plane, but cops stopped him before he got to security. The cops then interviewed Erik, the still photog, Kanye and his assistant. This is where it gets crazy. The cops asked Erik if he videotaped the incident and Erik said he had. That’s when Kanye lunged toward him and said, “Give me the fucking videotape.” Cops had to restrain Kanye as he tried coming at Erik. (Source)
LAX spokesman Marshall Lowe told People:
“Mr. West was arrested at 7:51 a.m. outside the passenger screening area by airport police on charges of vandalism. Initial reports say this incident involved a paparazzo and a camera valued at more than $10,000. In addition, Mr. West’s road manager was arrested for vandalism and battery. Several witnesses are being interviewed by police. West and his manager are being transported to an LAPD station where they’re expected to be booked.” (Source)

X17 has confirmed that Kayne West was arrested at LA International Airport for shoving a photographer.
Apparently the photog snapped and so did Kayne!
We're awaiting details for the LAX police department, but so far, they've confirmed to X17online that Kayne AND his assistant were both arrested. Stay tuned ...
UPDATE - A STATEMENT FROM THE LAX POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Shortly before 8 am this morning in Terminal 4 outside of passenger security screening, Kanye West was arrested by Airport Police on charges of felony vandalism. A man traveling with him (earlier described as his road manager and now being described as body guard) also was arrested on charges of felony vandalism and battery. Initial reports are that this involves a commercial photographer (paparazzi) and camera valued over $10,000. Several witnesses are being interviewed by Airport Police. West and the other man are currently in custody with Airport Police and is expected to be transported to LAPD Pacific Division where he is expected to be booked.
UPDATE #2 - Kanye's en route to the Pacific Division where he's expected to be booked and charged with felony vandalism.
Sgt Probst of the Pacific Division gave us this humorous explanation of what will happen next, to Kayne:

Ha! We love Probst for having a sense of humor -- on the other hand, Kayne's action aren't so funny ... apparently the photog suffered at least $10,000 in equipment damage - yikes!

Kanye West was arrested today at LAX for suspicion of vandalism after an altercation with a photographer according TMZ whose photographer captured it.
Erik says he was at Terminal 4 (American Airlines) when he noticed a still photog taking several pictures of Kanye West. Erik says West rushed the photog and grabbed his camera. A struggle ensued and the still guy was screaming, "Police, help!" Erik says Kanye then took the still camera and threw it on the ground, breaking it into pieces.
Erik then went over to Kanye, his camera rolling, when Kanye's bodyguard walked up to him, realized Erik was taping, and said, "Give me the camera, give me the camera." Erik responded that he had a press pass and had a right to shoot. The assistant then grabbed the camera, ripped off the mic and viewfinder and smashed it to the ground.
Erik says Kanye then tried to leave to board his plane, but cops stopped him before he got to security. The cops then interviewed Erik, the still photog, Kanye and his assistant..

Kanye West, despite his tough “I am amazing and deserve nothing less than all of your praise” exterior reveals a little portion of his flaky side.
A year after vowing never to perform on the MTV Video Music Awards again, hip-hop star Kanye West will close the show’s 25th annual ceremony in Hollywood on Sunday, joining a lineup that includes Christina Aguilera and the Jonas Brothers, organizers said.
West also failed to win any prizes, and accused the music cable network of exploiting Britney Spears, who inadvertently stole the show by badly lip-synching and dancing to her new tune.
“Money is money” seems to always be the media industry’s motto. When you have an opportunity to whore yourself out to a bunch of screaming teens you do it, and regardless of all the panting and heavy petting, you have to make like a girl and act like you didn’t like it. When they decide to eventually rear their ugly head around again, you make sure you’re desprite and horny enough to take it…Wait, what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, Kanye West. Our talented paparazzo LA Xclusive is bringing us these EXCLUSIVE shots of Kanye West a couple days ago! Kanye was looking completely happy when he arrived ate Los Angeles International Airport in sunny L.A. Kanye was very friendly at first, but quickly began to block his face from the camera. The reason soon became apparent as the camera flashes alerted hordes of screaming girls to his presence. Kanye West was extremely kind to his fans as he smiled and posed for pictures with them. Honestly-I’m, so effing content with SNL’s choice of guests on their season opener on Sept. 13.
Michael Phelps as the host and Lil’ Wayne as the musical guest. That’s so amazing. Lil Wayne is one of MY favorite rappers. He fits in after Kanye and Lupe. But he’s better than 50, or Jay-Z or YES even Tupac. I love Lil Wayne just as much as Michael Phelps does.
Did you know that before winning the races Phelps plays Lil Wayne’s I’m Me on his iPod. Ever since then, right before I head to the gym…I play it too!

Kanye West is pretty well known for taking himself super-seriously - but his latest line of ads are an Absolut laugh riot!
The rapper has been appearing on a series of hilarious ads for "Be Kanye Tablets", a product which promises to "unleash the superstar within". As it turns out, the ads are simply part of a larger contribution by 'Ye to an advertising campaign for Absolut vodka, titled "In an Absolut World" - but that hasn't stopped more than half a million people from logging onto BeKanyeNow.com for more information!
What do you think of the campaign? Personally, we think it's hilarious - especially with 'Ye playing along so eagerly!

Just when I think I can write Kanye West off as a completely narcissistic jerk, he does something so awesome that it reminds me why he is so successful despite his massive ego: he is really, really good at what he does. He talks himself up more than anyone I can think of, but he can back it up, it’s that simple.
Kanye’s video for his latest single champion just came out, and it completely shocked me. Why? Because Kanye himself isn’t in it at all: instead it features an amazingly realistic Kanye puppet. Before you judge and think puppets aren’t cool, watch the video. Because this is easily the hippest, most musically-inclined puppet since Rowlf the Dog. The video is charming, funny, and all-around down to earth – which is sort of ironic since the lyrics are all about how awesome Kanye is.
That Kanye West. He’s always got something new to entertain us.
The video for “Champion” not only gives in to our current Olympic fever (Michael Phelps, yeah!) but also a deep-seated love for all things puppets developed over the course of a childhood filled with Sesame Street and The Muppet Show.
In fact, we believe there are not enough puppets at work in Hollywood, so we hope an endorsement from Kanye will change all that. Give the video a view and try to tell us Puppet Kanye isn’t the most adorable thing ever.

Sick of hearing Kanye West talk about himself? Well, you might want to cancel your subscription to HBO - the pay network is developing a show with the chart-conquering rapper!
Entertainment Weekly reports that HBO has moved forward in their plans to create a single-camera show following Mr. West through his busy days and dealing with his family and friends. According to a key insider, the network is currently searching for a writer to help bring the as-yet-unnamed project to life.
But Kanye won't be the only star to be working on the project - HBO wants to team him up with Curb Your Enthusiasm executive producer Larry Charles! Hey, if you're gonna try to put together a single-camera show, you might as well work with the master of the form!
Maybe HBO can get Larry David to swing by for a guest appearance - although between Larry and Kanye, we're not sure who would stop talking first!

Kanye and Sway surprised them at their homes and were there to listed to the stories of these soldiers. MTV captured these moments and will air them on July 28th. I will def. be watching.
And you know what’s the coolest part? On behalf of MTV and the Dr.Donda West Foundation, the guys paid off the debts of each veteran and took care of their rent/tuition. I think that’s a beautiful gift. Hell, I’ll probably shed some tears when I watch this. Kanye released a statement:
“There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about. I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more. I teamed up with MTV and took the opportunity to share the spotlight with these veterans and hear their stories. I went to their homes to listen and get their firsthand experiences. I wanted to hear their stories.”

Kanye West back to being an arrogant diva

After his mother died, Kanye West seemed to have changed. There seemed to be an air of humility around him, and a newfound respect for people. Somehow the mountain of arrogance seemed to have abated a bit, which could only be a good thing. But it appears that whatever bit of dignity and self-restraint visited Kanye was only stopping by for the weekend, as he’s very much back to his conceited, egotistical rantings.
Entertainment Weekly reviewed Kanye’s Glow in the Dark tour on Friday, giving it a B+. And Entertainment Weekly can be pretty stingy with its reviews – a B+ is something to be pretty happy about. And if nothing else, it’s best to have some grace and manners about the whole thing, no? But those are two words that have never crossed Kanye West’s lips. Here’s a few highlights from the review:
For his headlining chunk of the Glow in the Dark Tour, Kanye West also takes fans on a galactic voyage, folding his hits into a wacked-out space opera that’s the ultimate ego trip. Normally, that’d be an insult, but with West, who’s made an art form out of dramatizing both humility and hubris, it’s mission accomplished…
…Okay, so he’s a nut. Still, West’s commitment to communicating inner passions and identity crises is so consuming it nearly redeems any conceptual hokeyness. Eschewing hip-hop’s buddy system, West is his stage’s sole visible human, and he’s become a riveting soliloquist. Crouching on one knee, broken up, during ”Hey Mama” — or pacing like a prizefighter during every other number — he gets you caught up in his journey to the center of the id and pulls off something rare: an intimate spectacle.

Now keep in mind that by most accounts, Kanye’s show is a massive ego trip and has a good deal of cheese to it. A spaceship named Jane talks to him and ”We need the brightest star in the universe — you, Kanye! Only you can bring us home. You can glow in the dark!” Supposedly the show is so good that you can overlook the occasional cheese though. It seems like the writer gave Kanye a pretty good review, considering most of us can’t look past the ego that he forces in our faces. Yet here was how Kanye chose to respond on his blog at KanyeUniverCity.

What a fabulous way to seem like an ungrateful asshole. And to prove the reviewer right. In fact it seems like Entertainment Weekly soft-peddled Kanye’s ego a bit. So he made sure to remind us all exactly how great he is. It doesn’t seem to occur to him that just because he’s a self-proclaimed extremist, and it’s all-or-nothing with him, doesn’t mean the rest of the world has to adjust their views to be in line with that.
As shocking and upsetting as it is, someone’s allowed to think Kanye is mediocre. The funny thing is that EW didn’t even say that – what they wrote was pretty generous. But I’ll go out on a limb here and say there’s no performance in the universe that could be good enough to merit this level of ego. So I’ll reserve my bows for now.

It was his diva weekend!
Kanyeizzle is taking to his blog to explain walking offstage at his Houston concert this past weekend and to sorta apologize for his rant against Entertainment Weekly magazine.
Oh, yeah, and he also took it as opportunity to remind us all (once again) how great he is!
Says Kanye:

Don't believe the hype! When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue. Unfortunately for certain media outlets, you will never be able 2 'Michael Jackson' me. That means 2 make it seem like everything I do is so weird or out of place… they always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old. At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artist that still cares about the fans having the best time of there lives! Thanks 2 Bossip and Perez for taking it easy on me on the EW spaz… I did go in a little 2 much on that one. I'm sure there are some cool people who work over there and had nothing 2 do with that review. With all that said…. "I'm still the greatest!!!" lol!! Oh and I was in the studio with T.I. last night…. so get ready!!! "

According to TV's Extra, the doctor involved in the death of Kayne West's mother, Donda, has a delinquent medical license.
He's still practicing? People are still going to him????????
Dr. Jan Adam's medical license has become delinquent as of Wednesday, April 30th.
An information officer from the medical board states that if physicians "do not renew their license within six months of the expiration date, they must stop practicing immediately. If the license is not renewed within five years, it is cancelled by operation of law."
Let's hope Dr. Adam doesn't renew his medical license!

The reason cited for the superstar rapper's recent breakup from his former fiancée was his grueling work schedule and true to form, shortly after their split was announced, Kanye held a concert at the Nokia Theater last night in downtown Los Angeles. Rihanna was the opening act and her boyfriend, Chris Brown, made his way into the audience just before she went on stage.
Other celebrities attending the concert were Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz and just as it often is in nature, in this pairing the male of the species appears to be the flashier of the two. Ryan Phillippe also showed up for the evening, looking low-key and it appears solo.
