Venturing out on a rainy day in the Big Apple, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise were spotted leaving their New York City apartment on Sunday afternoon (November 30).
According to a source on the scene, the former “Dawson’s Creek” cutie was about to take Suri out without opening her umbrella when Suri said, “I neeeeeeed it!”
Treating the kids to an afternoon snack, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took daughters Suri and Isabella out to a candy shop in New York City on Saturday (November 29).
The foursome browsed the store’s selection before winding up near the M&M’s dispensers, where they happily posed with a few store employees before continuing along on their way.
Continuing along with their romp throughout the Big Apple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were back on the town with David and Victoria Beckham on Friday night (November 28).

Getting in all kinds of quality family time over the past couple of days, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted out once again with their family for lunch earlier today (November 28).
The “Valkyrie” stud and his “Dawson’s Creek” darling treated their daughter Suri and Tom’s kids Connor and Isabella to a swanky lunch on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, smiling as they passed the paparazzi.
The only thing better than one celebrity family outing is two! And yesterday Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Suri, Connor, and Isabella were joined by David and Victoria Beckham and their three sons Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn.
It was a paparazzi’s dream as the former Spice Girl joined the “Mad Money” mommy on a horse-and-carriage ride through Central Park with the kids.
Stepping out for another family outing, David and Victoria Beckham joined Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for a stroll through Central Park on Thanksgiving Day (November 27).
Along for the midday adventure were the Beckham’s three children, Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn, as well as Tom’s three kids, Suri, Isabella and Connor.

Last week Hello! Magazine in the UK featured some quotes from Tom Cruise about the state of his marriage two years on. He said “And they said it wouldn’t last. I guess we proved them wrong, didn’t we?”
This latest Hello! has more words of wisdom from the 46 year-old 5′7″ screen star in an exclusive interview. The quotes he gives about Suri refusing to wear pants have already been reported as he either said the same thing to Entertainment Tonight, or they’re quoting the Hello! Interview, but there’s some additional interesting information about how he views his daughter and wife, along with his relationship with the media.
The Daily Mail has some of these quotes, but they’re taking them from Grazia. Either Grazia just switched Cruise’s statements around a little and reprinted them from Hello! or Cruise repeated himself to them. Hello! changed some of his words to Brit-speak too: (update: it was at a press conference, see below.)
On Katie and Suri both being “determined”
“Suri’s very much like her mother. She’s open and sunny, just like her Mom is, but she’s also very determined. She’s very much a girl, and she will not wear trousers, for instance, only dresses. Claims Suri doesn’t “have to deal with” fame
“She doesn’t have to deal with it.” [Talking about the Forbes story ranking her top baby] “When we’re not working we lead a very normal life with her, with friends over and ordinary stuff. You want to protect your children, but you don’t want to bring them up to be afraid of people. Suri’s a very open and warm child, and we want to preserve that, which we’re doing by giving her a lot of love. All she knows is that she is number one to Kate and me. And that’s all that matters.

How many different ways can Tom say that Katie gets her way? Why doesn’t he just call her a stubborn pain in the ass and be done with it? It’s funny because whenever he starts to say something negative about her, like about how she’s strong willed, he immediately switches back to “incredible,” “amazing” mode and praises her.
According to the Daily Mail, he also told Grazia that some of the shots of little Suri by the paparazzi are “incredible.” Here he said that “she doesn’t have to deal with [fame]” and maybe he meant the broader aspects of fame, but Suri is often seen crying and looking visibly upset by the paparazzi surrounding her family and screaming her name. She’s surely affected by it and no amount of “love” and letting her get her way can make up for that. You get that Tom wants to play nice with the media, but he would do well to speak out a little against aggressive photographers.
Update: Cruise essentially said the same thing to The Mirror, and as Agent Bedhead points out he was giving a press conference.

Out for another go at “All My Sons,” Katie Holmes was spotted leaving her New York City apartment with daughter Suri Cruise in her arms on Saturday evening (November 22).
Giving her 2-year-old a soft kiss as they made their way to an awaiting car, the Cruise ladies were then swept away to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for Katie’s stage duties.
Tom Cruise’s manic energy is running poor Katie Holmes ragged. Tom keeps a crazy schedule and seems to always be running on way too much coffee. Katie Holmes – not being the favorite child of Xenu - is a regular person who requires sleep and rest to keep on going. And if there’s one thing Tom is not known for, it’s being empathic towards things he doesn’t experience. Since he can keep going and going, he expects the same of Katie, and has seriously exhausted the poor woman by insisting that she fly back to L.A. every single weekend she has off from her Broadway play.
“You’ve got to give me a break, Tom.” That’s the plea an exhausted Katie Holmes made to her workaholic husband Tom Cruise - after she nearly collapsed while trying to keep up with his hectic schedule.
“All the racing around is killing her,” a close source told The Enquirer. “Katie just can’t keep this pace up much longer. Something has got to give - and Katie says Tom is going to have to lighten up on her.
“Of course he wants to see her and Suri, but she can’t keep making these coast-to-coast trips. She has to get some rest. Katie loves being in ‘All My Sons’ on Broadway. It’s been a great success and a terrific experience for her, but Tom doesn’t seem to understand that she needs a break sometimes. She can’t keep going and going like he expects her to.”

The Enquirer goes on to say that Tom often has a 24/7 work schedule and can function fine with just a few hours of dozing on a plane. When Katie told him he had to give her a break, he apologized for not being more considerate. And then, to show what a kind dad he is, he let Katie sleep in late that Saturday morning. The idea of him “allowing” her to sleep in is very parental and sorta creepy. Did he wake her up with chocolate chip pancakes too? Actually never mind, it’s all good.
Katie sounds like she’s seriously exhausted, and I can’t blame her. I’m sure she’s got help, but it still sounds like she’s overwhelmed and she often looks tired in photos. I would never want to keep up with a toddler AND Tom Cruise. I’m sorry but that’s just too much energy right there. I would spend most of my time trying to exhaust both of them so they were sleepy by bedtime. Hopefully Katie will really put her foot down and make Tom come to her just as much as she goes to him. Or just fall asleep whenever he sees her and see if he takes the hint.

With Tom Cruise out of town doing his own thing, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise ventured out for a little mother/daughter bonding time in New York City on Thursday (November 20).
After finishing up with their errands, the Cruise ladies ventured back to their apartment, with Katie dropping off Suri and changing clothes before heading to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater for an evening of “All My Sons”.
First Madonna for Louis Vuitton, and now Katie Holmes for Miu Miu? New York Magazine reports that Katie may be the latest celeb to lend her famous face to Miu Miu's Spring 2009 ad campaign. Katie would join a long list of starlets including Lindsay Lohan, Drew Barrymore and Kirsten Dunst who have previously appeared in Miuccia Prada's sexy print ads.
Katie may be an A-list celeb, but is she really that much of a fashionista? And will she be able to strike some fierce poses? I guess we'll find out!

Some of Hello!’s sources are named, and seem to have dependable, maybe pre-approved, insight on the Hollywood couple who look, dress, speak, and smile vacantly alike. They even have a few tidbits from Cruise himself, who says he was taken by surprise by the romance. Hello! says that Katie met Tom while auditioning for a role on MI3, and it sounds like that information comes directly from Cruise, although it’s hard to tell. Katie was largely rumored to have been among a pool of actresses to have been invited to a personal meeting with Cruise with the purpose of finding him a famous girlfriend. Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba are among the other young women who were asked to an interview with him at the Scientology Centre. It turned out well no matter the intent of their meeting, and Cruise says that they proved their critics wrong by lasting two years.

So, on the occasion of their anniversary on 18 November, here’s the true story of their modern-day fairytale.Back on 11 April 2005, Katie flew from NY to LA to audition for a possible role in the Tom Cruise movie, Mission: Impossible III However, after she met Tom, the movie became the farthest thing from her mind. “The chemistry between us was instantaneous,” she later explained. “If ever there was love at first sight, that was it. Tom was the most lethally attractive man I have ever met.”
His intellect, his drive, his sense of humour… his good looks - Katie said she was bowled over by all of it. As it happened, he felt the same way about her. “She is an absolutely spectacular woman,” is how he put it. In fact, the two spent so much time savouring each other’s company, they didn’t even discuss the movie.

The insiders quoted by Hello! give some information about the goings-on in the TomKat marriage. Katie is said to have been overwhelmed and afraid by the paparazzi attention right after Suri was born, but Tom told her that it would pass. She soon learned to handle it and matured quickly in the past two years to say the least.
A source claims that Tom was reluctant for Katie to return to work after Suri was born because he thought it would be too much given his dual career experience with his ex Nicole. She gradually convinced him though by waiting and letting him warm up to the idea before she took the role in Mad Money and then on Broadway.
There does seem to be some trouble in paradise as Katie is said to want to stay in NY while Tom is jetting back and forth from LA. That isn’t in Hello! though, and is reported in the November 24 issue of Star, so it’s likely completely fabricated. These two aren’t going away anytime soon unfortunately, although lasting two years isn’t really proving critics wrong. Maybe by Hollywood standards it is.

November 18th marks the second wedding anniversary for Hollywood power couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. It’s been a weird two years since the fairy-tale wedding in a castle in Italy. But since then, there’s been a slow, steady backlash in the media against the couple - most of it aimed at Tom Cruise and his “religion” of choice, Scientology. The predominant public opinion is that Katie, once a cute, doe-eyed ingenue with a promising film career, has been sucked into the bizarre world of Scientology at Tom’s insistence - although there has been no confirmation of any of this. Some have even gone so far as to say that Katie is a prisoner of this marriage - and the reason she stays with Cruise is their little girl, Suri.
In the two years since Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wed in a lavish ceremony in Italy, their marriage has been tested. The couple has been dogged by gossip that their relationship is a sham, forced to defend their belief in Scientology and weathered career pitfalls.
As their November 18 anniversary approaches, Tom and Katie are still together - but it’s not all wedded bliss. “Life with Tom is not what Katie thought it would be,” a friend reveals. “Had they just dated a couple of years, I think they would have split up by now.”
Says another pal, “Their relationship is not perfect.”
According to an insider, there’s one big reason Tom and Katie have persevered: their daughter. “She puts up with a lot for Suri’s sake,” the friend explains.

Tom, 46, and Katie, 29, weren’t always so incompatible.
“They rushed into the relationship,” a friend explains. “Katie got swept up in it. She thought she loved him.”
But the honeymoon was short-lived. When the reality of being Mrs. Tom Cruise set in, Katie felt controlled by Tom - and Scientology.

While I think this story is a bit melodramatic and very circumstantial in nature - she was smiling with Suri and less so with Tom a week earlier, so what? - it sure is compelling with you look at those older photos of Katie from two years ago and compare them to Katie today. No marriage is perfect, and expecting perfection for Tom and Katie is unrealistic. But looking back at the old photos, it seems like this union is far from perfect or even normal. Katie seems to have aged ten years. While having a baby definitely takes its toll on any new mom, the change is so dramatic, it really makes you wonder what’s been going on behind closed doors. Maybe it’s as simple as Katie, as a young woman, struggling to find her identity as a more mature actress and mother. Or maybe it’s something darker. We’ll probably never know- or we’ll have to wait a long time to find out, like with Tom’s last wife, Nicole Kidman, who only recently started giving vague clues about what life is really like with the star.
In any case, I hope the couple makes some alone time for each other to celebrate their anniversary - no Suri, no Scientology, no paparazzi, no red carpets; just a romantic night for the two of them.

The “Mad Money” mommy has been busily continuing along with her Broadway schedule, making improvements each and every day to her role in Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons”.
I think there’s a decent chance that Suri Cruise is the most photogenic celebrity baby out there – at least when she’s not scared to death by the paparazzi. Katie and Tom take her out a lot, especially since they’re been in New York while Katie performs in All My Sons. Suri seemed especially happy yesterday as she and Katie went for a stroll – and she got to bring along her Paddington Bear.
Suri Cruise took her new best friend to the park yesterday - a miniature Paddington Bear. The two-year-old walked hand-in-hand with mother Katie Holmes, who carried the unmistakable red hatted teddy.
When they got to the park near their New York home actress Katie entertained a delighted Suri by standing Paddington on a railing.
Katie carried a warm blanket in case of chills, as the two went for their stroll.
Despite her tender age Suri is already proving to be a stylish young lady, no doubt helped by her fashionable mother. The tot held out her velvet dress as she walked down the street in silver Mary Janes and black leggings.
During the day the pair explore the city together. Then while Katie is at work Suri plays in her own VIP area at the theatre, which comes complete with a little piano.

It makes me really happy that kids still have Paddington Bears – he doesn’t talk or have a screen or buttons or anything. Well, he has buttons, but they’re on his little coat, not the kind that are attached to handheld electronics. Thus I assumed Paddington had no appeal to anyone but stick-up-their-asses sorts like me. Both Katie and Suri seem so much livelier in their expressions and body language when they’re out alone together. They obviously have a close mother daughter relationship.

Not needing their ladybug umbrella on this particular November day, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise were spotted enjoying a mother/daughter day out on Friday (November 7).
The former “Dawson’s Creek” cutie and her 2-year-old sweetheart spent the afternoon walking through Union Square, where they purchased a pie to take home.
Continuing their trend of seeing New York City on foot, Katie Holmes was spotted meandering around the Big Apple earlier today with her daughter Suri Cruise.
Undaunted by the rain, the “Mad Money” mommy came equipped with the lovely ladybug umbrella from last night, successfully keeping them from getting wet.
