The James Bond movies have been on of the most succesful action movies…but Quantum of Solace failed.
They not only provide you action, romance and humour- they provide you an original plot. However, after viewing this movie all I could think about was… THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good film, but it did not reach or surpass expectations. It was completely unoriginal.
It made me wonder why I was wasting my money on the movie. Oh and the Alicia Keys/ Jack White song…bullshit. Seriously, that reminded me of a coke commerical or a vodka commerical. All the other theme songs are classicis and are memorable. There was nothing memorable about this song. I don’t know why the hell the producers thought Alicia and Jack would make a hit. They should have taken Amy Winehouse in her prime to sing the theme song.
Now, the women in Quantum of Solace were HOT! There was really no plot, just James Bond wanting revenge on the death of his hoe from the previous movie…
I really hope the next Bond movie will not make James Bond look like an angry heart-broken fool.

Sometimes we forget that when celebs get all dressed up in their best (or in Mayer's case, his worst), that they're actually being charitable!
And last night's 5th Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball was no exception.
The event, which raised money for children living with AIDS, drew everyone from fashion, movies and music, including Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, David Bowie & Iman, John Mayer, Queen Latifah, Tyra Banks, Michelle Williams, Alicia Keys, Padma Lakshmi, Clive Davis and more!
Check out the monster gallery below!
But since they're being so charitable, doesn't mean we have to be! Whose outfit was a fashion disaster?

And you know what, I kind of like this look on John Travolta.
He doesn’t look like he has hair-plugs sticking out of his head anymore. However, he does resemble a badass biker. Who doesn’t want to resemble the kings of the road? This suits his age better.
He’s not super skinny Grease badass high school drop-out anymore! He looks like a man now!
I’m sure you will have to agree with me.
According to the NY Daily News, Alicia Keys could be named as “the other woman” in the divorce of hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz and R&B singer Mashonda.
Apparently a birthday party Alicia threw for Swizz at the Manhattan Louis Vuitton store last attended by celebs included Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Robin Thicke, was the last straw for Mashonda. Where: “Alicia introduced Swizz as ‘The man of the hour and my boo,’”
A friend reveals: “Mashonda has had enough. She put her career on hold to be a wife and mother. She’s tired of pretending she’s deaf, dumb and blind to what’s going on. She can’t believe how disrespectful Alicia is being.”
A friend of Swizz told the media, “His relationship with Alicia began after their separation. He hasn’t kept it a secret. He still has great love for Mashonda and has promised to take care of her and their son and support her career.”
The couple first announced their separation in April but a friend of Mashonda argues: “That was his announcement. She got sucked into it. She thought they were trying to put their marriage back together. Meanwhile, he’s apparently been telling Alicia that his marriage was over.”
Since then Swizz may have been doube dipping. He accompanied Alicia on her European tour last summer, while continingto live, off and on, with Mashonda and son Kasseem Jr. at their Westchester mansion.
Mashonda is said to have exploded when she found a flirty e-mail from Alicia on Swizz’s BlackBerry. According to sources, she fired back a reply, reminding the singer he was still her husband.
Mashonda has now hired some big time lawyer to fight her case.
“This could have been handled quietly. But now Mashonda has taken the gloves off,” says a friend.
Alicia Keys’ Indonesian concert just slapped on the patch.
Philip Morris International, the original sponsor of the Grammy winner’s gig in Jakarta tonight, pulled down all its promotional billboards and posters after the singer spoke out against the tobacco company’s sponsorship of her show.
Keys was clued in to the company’s aggressive sponsorship—featuring the logo and slogans for the brand’s A Mild cigarettes—by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

Bond producers have just announced that Alicia Keys and Jack White of The White Stripes have teamed-up to record the “Quantum of Solace” theme song. This is the first duet in Bond song history.
Jack wrote, produced and also plays drums, on the song called “Another Way to Die.” A perfect title for a Bond song, indeed!
Alicia Keys an 11-time Grammy winner, become the front runner for the job, after Amy Winehouse dropped the ball and never finished a song that was slated to be the Bond theme. The new Bond flick comes out in November.

The new bond movie still doesn’t have a bond theme song yet. But E!’s Marc Malkin reports that Alicia Keys has just become the front runner for the Bond job.
A source claims Keys has allegedly beat out Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Duffy, Duran Duran, Annie Lennox, and Jack White for the honor of recording the theme for Quantum of Solace.
Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson originally had the job, but apparently never finished the song as recording got in the way of Winehouse’s drug usage. The new Bond flick comes out in November.

And we're not just talking about her records! The 27-year-old singer has a heart of gold too, as she spent most of the day on Thursday hanging out with and talking to the students of Frederick A. Douglas High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. The best part? An hour long surprise acapella performance to top it off!
As part of the Lexus Presents the Alicia Keys “As I Am” Tour, the Grammy-winning songstress and Lexus launched “Keys to Innovation,” a program celebrating and honoring inner city high schools across America that have successfully implemented innovative environmental programs. Lexus and Alicia even handed a check to the school to keep up the program as well as chance to submit an action plan to win an extra $10,000 for the school program.

You don't get to be one of the biggest pop stars on the planet without keeping tabs on what other artists are up to - so perhaps that's why we caught Britney Spears showing up to the Staples Center for Alicia Keys' big concert!
Brit did her best to keep a low profile as the security guards waved her through the back entrance and then out again after the show wrapped up. In fact, if she hadn't been riding in her big, white Escalade, we probably wouldn't have recognized her at all!
Still, we're sure Britney had a great time - after all, Alicia puts on one heck of a show! Wouldn't it be great if they got together to work on some music?
Talk about a special guest appearance!

Well Alicia seems to be having a lot of problems lately. Problems with gangsta rap, problems with her vocal chords, and now a problem with her dress.
I guess this 'body-con' dress is the next big thing. But if you're asking me, I think it looks like a hot lycra mess, even if Alicia has poured her hot figure into it.
Now we know everything about the thong she was wearing except the color. Alicia also had to keep tugging at the grey number because it kept creeping up on her all night.
Seems Alicia didn't mind pulling the hem down too much, as she continued showing off her curves smiling big for the cameras before heading inside to make an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman last night.

Kate Hudson graces the cover of People Magazine's 19th annual "100 Most Beautiful" issue - it's her fourth time on the list.
Also in this collection of pretty people, which seems to exist to remind us regular people just how regular we are: Halle Berry, Patrick Dempsey, Salma Hayek, Jessica Simpson, and Alicia Keys.
So, the scoop on their cover girl Kate? ... She says she may consider breast implants after she's finished having kids. She says, of her son Ryder's long hair: "Why is it so weird? My son likes his hair. He likes his hair long because it's like his father's." And last but not least, she's quit smoking.
The mag's "Hall of Fame" - those who've grabbed spots on the list numerous times - includes: Nicole Kidman (9 times), Angelina Jolie (6 times), Brad Pitt (8 times), Matthew McConaughey (5 times), Halley Berry (12 times), and George Clooney (8 times).
They's also got "The New Classics" list aimed at making people old before their time! Miley Cyrus tops the list, of course; Ashton Kutcher, Kate Beckinsale, Christina Applegate, and Sarah Silverman are also part of that group.
And the "Heating Up" list names Rumer Willis as "The It Girl."
Also in the "100" are: Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Norah Jones, and Josh Groban -as well as TV stars Tina Fey (30 Rock), Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty), Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU) and Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives). The entire cast of Gossip Girl is featured as well as the ladies of MTV's The Hills, Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port and Heidi Montag.
Whadaya think of the list? Are these the prettiest people Hollywood has to offer? They ain't shabby, that's for sure! But where's Brit???!!!
Suffering from swollen vocal chords, R&B singer Alicia Keys has already canceled two upcoming shows on her North American tour. J Records announced that the 27-year-old singer would not be able to perform for Tuesday's scheduled show in Pittsburgh, nor would she be warbling her tunes for the audience slated for the Cleveland show this Thursday.
The hope is that she's up and running by Saturday, at which time she will be hitting the stage in Columbus. Tickets purchased by fans for the Cleveland show will allow the holder to gain entry to the Columbus gig.
This is all very interesting because Jordin Sparks is also suffering from throat problems. The American Idol winner has been afflicted with acute vocal chord hemorrhage and has been unable to perform. Does anyone else smell a conspiracy theory?

Magazines must love it when celebrities give controversial comments, because it’s a surefire way to get a lot of publicity. In this case singer Alicia Keys was widely quoted as telling Bender Magazine that the US Government invented gangster rap as a means to incite violence in the African American community. But Keys now says that her comments were misconstrued and she didn’t say that it was all a big conspiracy. She claims that what she meant was that the term “Gangster Rap” was overused by the media to stereotype and dismiss a genre of music that has important messages about the experience of inner city blacks. That’s a decent point, but it’s not likely to be taken at face value after the big hoopla she created with what initially sounded like a whacked out conspiracy theory:
According to an interview in the magazine’s May issue, the 27-year-old singer says: “`Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. `Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.” She also is quoted as saying that she wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead.”
“We stand by our story,” Blender spokeswoman Kate Cafaro told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
“My comments about `gangsta rap’ were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music,” Keys said in a statement issued by J Records. “The point that I was trying to make was that the term was oversloganized by some of the media causing reactions that were not always positive. Many of the `gangsta rap’ lyrics articulate the problems of the artists’ experiences and I think all of us, including our leaders, could be doing more to address these problems including drugs, gang violence, crime, and other related social issues.”
As for the AK-47 remark, Keys said Tuesday that AK-47 is a nickname given to her by friends “as an acronym for Alicia Keys and a metaphor for wowing people with my music and performances, `killing ‘em dead’ on stage. The reference was in no way meant to have a literal, political or negative connotation.”
[AP Story from The Huffington Post]
I’ve had to rely on secondhand accounts of this interview because the excerpt available on the Blender website doesn’t include these quotes from Alicia that are causing a stir. You kind of assume that she did make some broad sweeping comments like this if Blender stands by their story. As the Ent Lawyer on Crazy Days and Nights said, it’s not like the government suits were “sitting around listening to The Sugar Hill Gang and [speculating] that if they could just make it more violent that it would lead to black people killing each other.”
As for the media overusing the term “Gangster Rap” to stereotype music they didn’t understand or want to grasp the meaning of, that’s entirely plausible and probably true. A singer who wears a gun pendant around her neck isn’t the one who should be pointing that out to everyone as if it’s a big plot, though. She can really belt out a tune, though, and she should probably stick to that for the immediate future.
Thanks to The YBF for these photos from Blender.

Alicia Keys seems to have tired of all the rumors about her being a lesbian, so she's created a good diversion. She was recently quoted as saying that the U.S. government invented the term "gangster rap" and that it was all part of a plan to take out Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. The truth is out there, Leesha!
She says the government coined the term "gangster rap" to start the infamous East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry of the 1990s. Keys believes it was all part of a plot to get "black people to kill each other."
"[The murders of Shakur and B.I.G were fuelled] by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing," she told Blender magazine.
In the interview, Alicia's reportedly wearing a gold pendant of an AK-47 that she says symbolizes "strength, power and killing them dead." She also mentions that she's been reading books by militant black leaders of the past like Black Panther Huey Newton and feels that if they were around today, their influence would be "global."
"I have to figure out a way to do it myself," she said.
Is this chick going to be coming at me with a pipe bomb? Alicia's no stranger to wanting to take a bitch out. Easy there, Angela Davis. I know the Man sucks and everything. My people can only get married in one state in this country. But if you start screaming about conspiracies around every corner and publishing a 'zine, people are going to sour on you. No one likes their pop stars to get too deep or controversial. You don't see Rihanna discussing 9/11. Please don't stop the music!

Alicia Keys has made her highly anticipated red carpet arrival for the night, and she definitely lived up to the hype. Arriving at the Staples Center in Los Angeles via VIP treatment was an appropriate kickoff to the Grammy Awards.
Leaving no expense to spare, the No One singer looked absolutely smashing in a navy blue gown and her hair in an updo.

The stars came out to perform at a concert Tuesday in in Oslo, Norway, honoring Nobel Peace laureates Al Gore and the United Nations climate panel said they hoped to draw attention to global warming. Kevin Spacey and Uma Thurman were co-hosts of the concert.
“The whole point is to raise awareness and communicate with everyone else in the world and share our concern for the planet,” Thurman said at a news conference ahead of the show.
Spacey, who is artistic director of London’s Old Vic, said the theater is starting a project next year called “Go for Green” to create a play to teach children to be more environmentally aware.
Gore and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shared the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to document and spread the word about what the former vice president calls the “planetary emergency” of global warming.
Performers at the annual concert included Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Melissa Etheridge. Etheridge won an Oscar for the song “I Need to Wake Up,” which was featured in Gore’s documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.”
Etheridge said Gore asked her to write the song.
“I was deeply honored, I was deeply moved and then I had to write a song about global warming, which is not easy,” the 46-year-old singer said, adding that Gore’s efforts gave her “a great amount of hope for our Earth.”

Alicia Keys brought an early Christmas present to Japan promoting her new Album “As I Am” at the Marunouchi Building in Tokyo.
The 26-year-old singer appeared at a Tokyo office building and sang a few songs from the new album, and wish a crowd of several hundred people a happy holiday season with a three-story-tall Christmas tree behind her.
“My new name is Alicia Trees,” she joked.
“As I Am,” released Nov. 13, has risen to the top of the Japanese charts.
Keys said the album’s success shows her music has universal appeal.
“I want to reach all kinds of listeners. It means a lot to me that people from all places can appreciate the music,” she said. “I can’t wait to come back for a big tour.”
Keys said she plans to spend the holidays back home in the United States.
“Christmas is always special for me,” she said. “I like to have a big meal with my family.”

For all of you Alicia Keys fans out there, November is a big month. Back on the 13th, she released her new album “As I Am” and this week she ‘s played at The Early Show and the WGA strike.
The “Falling” singer told interviewer Hannah Storm that the songs from her new album came from a newfound confidence. “There has been an overall feeling that I’ve come into my own. That’s why I named this album: ‘As I Am’ because this is really who I am.”

Alicia Keys at the AMAs (11/18)
Did anyone notice Alicia Keys at the American Music Awards on Sunday, specifically the obscene amount of makeup she was wearing? Swear to God when I first saw this picture I thought it was an artist’s rendering. I’m surprised she didn’t tip over from being so front heavy.

I didn’t realize that the “Alicia Keys is a lesbian” rumors had reached such a crescendo that she actually felt the need to address them in the media. But apparently they have, and Alicia says she’s not bothered by the rumors, but she’s “as straight as they come,” according to the Sun. Apparently Keys was “rough around the edges” and that’s why everyone thought she was gay. Didn’t realize that.
R&B superstar ALICIA KEYS can understand why she was labeled a lesbian at the beginning of her career - because she was ‘rough around the edges’. The singer’s sexuality was the subject of much speculation after the release of her 2001 debut album Songs In A Minor.
Alicia is adamant she isn’t gay but realizes her appearance and attitude may have led people to draw their own conclusions. She said: “I was definitely rough around the edges. I look back at certain interviews and I’m like, ‘Damn! Did I have to look that hard? Did I have to do my hair that way? I could see why people couldn’t see the diamond in the rough. I didn’t take it to heart. I know what I am. I know it’s not true.”
[From the Sun]
Somehow I did not pick up on that at all. Keys never came off as uber-feminine, but I liked that about her. She was also dating her high school boyfriend for a seven years or so time, and was last linked to rapper Krucial. I didn’t realize it, but according to Wikipedia she graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan at sixteen and was the class valedictorian. She also had a full scholarship to Columbia, but dropped out to pursue her music career. Normally I’d say that was a dumb move, but it seems to have worked out pretty well.

It’s been a big week on MTV’s TRL so far. First Keri Russell stopped by on Monday afternoon. And yesterday, they got a visit from hottie Jessica Alba.
The “Dark Angel” actress was in the house to promote her new movie “Awake” also starring Hayden Christensen and Lena Olin.

Such a pretty song!
Alicia Wild? Yikes! Her mom was right! "Alicia Keys" is actually a stage name that Alicia Augello-Cook uses. She was originally going to call herself "Alicia Wild" but her Mom thought "uh uh, that's a pole-dancer".
The NYC-born singer, 27 -- née Alicia Augello-Cook -- says that she had a tough time figuring out a professional name, so she began thumbing through the dictionary. She stopped on the word "wild."
But when she ran it past mom, "she said, 'It sounds like you're a stripper,'" Keys reveals in the new issue of Newsweek.

"Hello, you young fans of TRL! Here's a big beautiful smile for all of you wonderful idiots! Keep buying my albums!" Aww, I'm just kidding. Alicia Keys probably isn't thinking that about the hordes of fans gathered outside of TRL to cheer her on. Me, on the other hand--I would totally be thinking that. But it's probably just because I'm bitter that I've slowly but surely aged right out of MTV's target demographic and it totally shows. Ms. Keys looks very light-hearted, but she claims that she has only been able to successfully juggle her personal life with her highly ambitious hopes for her career once her grandmother became very sick with cancer.
"That's exactly what it was. That's why I had to totally, completely stop. I'm used to constantly going on to the next thing, but I realized at that moment, 'Man, this is it, this is all I have.'"Keys says that it was this experience that slowed down her "relentless" attempts to stay at the top of the music industry and focus on matters near and dear to her heart--like her family. Good for her. Again, we differ on this point. I've actually had to have the conversation where I explain to my grandmother that as much as I love her, blogging is a competitive industry and I have to do what I have to in order to stay at the top of my game and that's why I forgot to send her a birthday card and would she please stop looking at me with those big, sad eyes, dammit.

She will perform "No One," a song from her new CD, "As I Am," and will interact in the episode with club owner Henry Duque (Eddie Matos). She'll also have some dialogue with Pancho Duque (Hector Elizondo), Henry's father who runs the Duque family's rum-and-sugar cane empire (which is the basis for the series).Being a 'mo, I went to see Alicia Keys perform with Missy and Beyonce a couple of years back. Let me sum it up for you - Missy's my girl but she should keep it in the studio, Beyonce is a little too impressed with herself and can't sing a whole song, and Alicia Keys brings it. Brings it hard! I knew one song, but she's sweaty good.
