87-year old funny lady and icon Carol Channing (who does love the gays) suffered a fall at her California home and broke her hip and legs about two weeks ago.
She suffered these painful injuries just a day before a concert she had planned in San Francisco.
The concert was to kick off "Hello, Carol! A Celebration of Carol Channing," an exhibition on her life and work.
The exhibition is scheduled to run at the Museum of Performance & Design in S.F. through March 14.

The old dog got a lucky break.
Comedian Jerry Lewis' firearm charge was dismissed by a Las Vegas judge on Friday.
Back in July, the funny oldie attempted to carry an unloaded concealed weapon through Vegas's McCarran International Airport.
The judge was super forgiving!
It seems like Lewis lied a bunch of times about how the gun got into his bag.
The story that stuck was that the gun was a gift that he'd placed in a carry-on bag more than a year ago.
He said he 'forgot' it was in the bag until he was stopped at the airport's security checkpoint.
Jerry's lawyer calls the quick resolution "a good result for great guy."
If a regular person made the 'mistake' Jerry made and lied like he did, we're sure they wouldn't have received Jerry's light slap on the wrist.

A campaign official for Virginia's Lieutenant Governor cancelled an order for 150 tourist guides on Minneapolis-St. Paul when she discovered they included a section on gay and lesbian nightclubs. "'Having a section dedicated solely to GLBT will be a BIG problem for many of our folks. We simply can't hand them out,' wrote the aide, Melissa Busse, in an email to the guidebook publisher, Rake Publishing." However, all those God-fearing Republicans stumbling into town had Twin City's gay clubs overflowing with out-of-towners.
"'We've had quite a spike, mostly people who are curious come down and they wind up leaving and having a good time,' said Robert Parker, the manager of the Gay 90's club in downtown Minneapolis which features a popular 'drag queen' show. 'Mississippi, Alabama, California, Arizona, I've seen people from all over,' said Parker."
As for the Virginians and the tourist guides they refused to collect, Parker says, "Shame on them. [The club] is all about inclusiveness, including everybody no matter who and what you are, and I think if perhaps Republicans come and see that and they would come in and see that the world could be that way, and they may learn something."
"In a statement, Virginia Lt. Gov Bolling said he was sorry the cancellation occurred 'and wish it had not happened.' He said the delegation would reimburse the publisher for his costs." [ABC News]
This is one of those situations where you can't help but feel sorry for someone and at the same time it's hard to not laugh.
A 78 year-old woman checking in at Sweden's main airport has probably just had her worst airport experience ever.
The woman was preparing to fly from Stockholm's Arlanda airport to Germany on Tuesday.
But, unfortunately, she misunderstood some instructions while checking in and placed herself on the unmanned baggage belt, instead of her luggage!
Seriously!
Grandma was then whisked away down a baggage chute!!!!
She ended up at the baggage handling centre.
Luckily staff members were on hand to help her get up.
And, on a very good note, she suffered NO serious injuries and was even able to catch her flight to Germany.
Poor, old lady. We have a feeling she won't be flying anytime soon.
She definitely shouldn't be traveling alone!

The old timer jumped out of a plane and parachuted as part of the Chicago Air and Water Show on Friday.
He did the tandem jump with a team called the Golden Knights.
The Chi-town native did it for a good cause — the U.S.O. of Illinois.

As we mentioned last month, Jerry Lewis was busted after an unloaded gun was found in his carry-on baggage at the airport in Las Vegas.
At first, his manager said it was just a "fun gun", basically a show prop, and that Lewis didn't recall it being in there.
Lewis also stated that other people in his family had used the bag.
Now Jerry boy is changing his story!
He says the gun found was a gift from an engraver following his annual telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Lewis says, "Oh, I had a gun in my carrying case, which was given to me by a marvelous, marvelous engraver. Last year, at the telethon of '07, he presented me with this gorgeous gift. He presented it to me in the telethon office in '07. I put it in that traveling case, and I hadn't traveled since that telethon ’til that day."
He said the gun had been sitting in his office for a year in an unused traveling case.
Lewis added, "The case was sitting dormant in my office."
That's funny. We thought he said other family members had been using that bag in the mean time?
Inneresting.
As for his manager, she says there was indeed a hollowed-out prop gun that Lewis sometimes twirls during his show in his baggage, but it was apparently mixed in there with the real handgun given as a gift.
Riiiight.
She then added that she didn't know previously about the gift and that she wasn't sure which gun, the real or prop one, was the one confiscated by police.
But, Las Vegas policeman Bill Cassell said last month that if the gun was just a prop, "it wouldn't be a weapon and we couldn't cite him for carrying a weapon."

The shit economy must be hitting him hard!
Actor Richard Dreyfuss is suing his father, who must be very very old by now, and uncle over an $870,000 loan he says was never repaid.
Dreyfuss claims he loaned his pops and uncle the money in 1984 for an interest in a downtown Los Angeles office building.
Now, about 24 years later, Dreyfuss says that loan — and interest — remains unpaid.
Dude, Dick. You gotta nip things in the bud!
It's all about boundaries, right? If you were serious about getting your dinero back, we think you should've put them on a repayment plan!
In a lawsuit filed Friday, the thesp says his uncle, Gilbert Dreyfuss, has repeatedly refused to turn over records that would show its financial status. He also went on to say his uncle and father, Norman, have acted with "fraud" and "malice."
The actor wants repayment of the loan, plus interest and punitive damages.
Beware, y'all!

Betty "Rose" White is setting the record straight!
As y'all know, the living Golden Girls got a bit of flack for not attending the funeral of their recently deceased co-star Estelle Getty.
Betty spoke with Entertainment Tonight to explain her absence.
"We were with Estelle when it mattered," she says. "I didn't go to her funeral and Paul, her wonderful caretaker, knew I wasn't going to her funeral…Funerals are about [journalism] … who was there and who wasn't? That's not about Estelle. We adored her. To tell you the truth, her passing is tough on us, but it's a blessing for her. She's been so ill for so long, she's in a better place now, wherever she is."

The old dog just can't catch a break!
In addition to trying to save his house, Ed McMahon has a new lawsuit to deal with.
Attorney Norman Solovay has just filed suit against McMahon for $275,168. The Star Search alum had hired Solovay to act as his daughter's divorce attorney. The attorney claims that Ed has not paid his outstanding bills.
A representative for the former Johnny Carson sidekick was not available for comment.
Will we be seeing a McMahon estate sale soon?
His alleged shopaholic wife must have some expensive Hermes bags and jewels she can sell to help the cause!

When you have this much money, you can waste it on anything - like on a $47 million two-story condo in Century City, California.
The indidivual responsible for the lavish purchase?
Well it's Aaron Spelling's widow of course, Candy Spelling.
It's easy to spend money that you didn't have to work hard to get!
The condo, which is still under construction, has 16,500 square feet. That works out to be $2,848 a square foot.
Crazy!
That's a record price for a Los Angeles condo unit.
The previous record was $2,700 a square foot at the same Century City tower in February.
Her new condo will have a 4,000 sq ft master bedroom suite, a dining room for 25 people, a conservatory with a rose garden, and even a swimming pool and deck.
Her bedroom will be bigger than some peoples' houses!
So what's the reason for the move?
Apparently she's tired of living in her 123-room mansion, which she calls The Manor.
The former home of Tori Spelling has 11 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a bowling alley, and even a doll museum - all which sits on six acres of land.
That makes Spelling's home the largest in Los Angeles County at 56,500 square feet.
So, with the purchase of the condo, let's get ready for a soon to be house sale of The Manor.
With the market the way it is, though, good luck trying to sell it!

Who would ever have pictured the Fonz from Happy Days as a classical actor?
Well, while not busy appearing at your local car show, Henry Winkler will now be joining the British Milton Keynes Theatre as Captain Hook for this year's pantomime, Peter Pan.

Winkler is one of the first American stars to ever be cast in a British pantomime by First Family Entertainment.
Milton Keynes Theatre's Chief Executive Officer, Elizabeth Adlington, said "We are extremely privileged that such an iconic international star will be enjoying the family pantomime tradition here in Milton Keynes, and I look forward to welcoming him to our theatre".
Winkler adds, "Being in panto equals joy, and playing Captain Hook gives me joy. How great to share this fantastic adventure with the audience in Milton Keynes."
The show will premier this December 5th through January 18th.
If we're in England during the holidays, we might just have to drop on by.

Talk about bad luck.
Veteran Hollywood actress Debbie Reynolds has just lost her 75-foot boat.
The ship sunk near Jacksonville, FL in the St. Johns River.
Apparently, there was severe deterioration on the side of the boat which created a large enough hole to sink it in about 10 minutes.
Reynolds had paid $350,000 for her boat, The Jean Marie.
The boat also contained about $100,000 worth of valuable antiques when it sank last week.
It had to be removed by a crane this Wednesday from the river.
Thankfully everyone is ok.
Debbie's gonna have to hit the casino circuit hard to get a new boat!

More trouble for the original Fat Bastard, Lou Pearlman.
Federal prosecutors have determined just how much money Lou owes all the people he has stolen from.
The answer? He owes $424.4 million!!!!
Pearlman was handed down a judgement of $297 million in losses to the people he defrauded. Then, in addition to that, prosecutors are demanding that he also pay $127 million in interest that has accrued since January 1989 through December 2006.
We hope he has that money tucked away somewhere safe!
Last month, Lou was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
However, Fletcher Peacock, Pearlman's attorney, said he will object to the sleaze-bag having to pay interest on the restitution amount which he says should only be about $300 million.
Peacock says, "The interest was fictional at best. If Mr. Pearlman made interest on the money, then certainly, I could understand how the victims would be entitled to that."
Well, the value of money fluctuates, and a dollar back in 1989 isn't worth the same as a dollar today.
Pearlman should pay back the money and interest - if he can even pay back anything at all!
As of today, only about $5 million has been recovered in other Pearlman bankruptcy cases.
Wonder what he spent all his money on?
She is not looking well!

More bad news for Ed McMahon!
According to his rep, the former Star Search host has had a third surgery for a pestering neck injury:
"Ed had his third and hopefully final neck surgery today [Friday] at an L.A. hospital. He's awake, alert and resting comfortably, and the McMahon family is grateful for all the prayers and good wishes."
Sadly, the deep in debt old dog has been unable to work the last 18 months because of the neck injury.

Everything that's old is new again in the gossip world today. Inside Edition is claiming to have "uncovered" something that we posted about two years ago. As we're all painfully and forcibly aware, beachy keen supermodel Christie Brinkley is divorcing her beefy cad of a husband, Peter Cook. Cook is a certified creep who had an affair with a 15-year-old toy store employee and "privately, secretly" masturbated on web cameras, but he was also kind of a hunk back in the day! In 1981 he posed in an itty bitty bathing costume on the cover of GQ and damned if he didn't look good. Now the ever-desperate for scoops Inside Edition, in a press release, is claiming to have unearthed the revealing cover. Except, um, it's not new!
People like us posted the picture two years ago. Hmpf. We don't get no respect. Maybe it's a different cover altogether? Or maybe some old person at the Inside Edition offices was making their first tentative bumblings onto the internet and did an image search for "peter cook," hoping to find photos of the guy who played Prentiss in A Dandy in Aspic, but found the Speedo shot instead. That's sort of uncovering something, albeit in a small, personal, and vaguely sad way. Whatever the explanation, it's a great excuse to run the picture again. [via Queerty]

Like we said before, Peter Cook should have settled his divorce case as quickly as possible.
But, luckily for us, more news of the famous split is being made public.
Christie Brinkley's soon to be ex-hubby had an affair with his teenage lover, 18 year old Diana Bianchi, in his office. And in order to keep her quiet, he paid her $300,000 and showered her with money.
Yea, most likely Brinkley's money!!!
And, even better, that slutty girl who slept with a married man is going to testify that Cook seduced her shortly after hiring her!
It's also been revealed that Cook spent about $3,000 a month on pornographic websites.
And to that, Brinkley's attorney argued, "That is the man who's come before this court and asked for custody of his 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter."
Maybe Christie wasn't satisfying him??? Seems like that was DEFINITELY the case!
Cook's lawyer said Brinkley is partly to blame for the publicity that's being given to the case.
His lawyer says about Brinkley, "For goodness sake: She's on her fourth husband. Your honor, we're here because of the self-indulgent wrath of a woman scorned."
The main focus of the case is said to be the custody of the children, not the money, especially since it was Brinkley that paid for everything through the marriage.

Donald Trump is a big, blustering, sexist dinosaur. The real estate tycoon and reality TV show host can "fire" us or call us a big fat dyke for saying so. Of all his delightful qualities, one of his most charming is his seemingly unlimited joy for belittling and needlessly berating women. His latest target is actress/princess of Genovia Anne Hathaway. The Donald recently lashed out at her, saying that she only broke up with be-scandaled Eyetalian Rafaello Follieri because his legal troubles caused the money to run out. “So when he had plenty of money, she liked him," he garbled to Access Hollywood. "But then after that, not as good, right?” No, actually, we suspect it's because he was arrested for stealing fucking millions of dollars that Hathaway ended the affair, not because the money trail went cold. She's been doing pretty well for herself in the films lately, so finances probably aren't a huge worry for her. But she's a woman!
You'll remember that this isn't Trump's first run-in with a member of the fairer sex. He's had nasty divorces with ex-wives Ivana ("Don't get mad, get everything") and Marla, and has raged at former business associates like Carolyn Kepcher and Martha Stewart. He fired Kepcher—who always seemed smart and capable and grounded on Trump's "hit" show The Apprentice—because she was becoming a "prima donna" whose "TV role went to her head." (He later axed his secretary for the same reason.) He publicly dissed his once-friend Martha when her Apprentice spin-off failed to attract viewers, blaming his own version's ratings dip on her failures. Then of course came Rosie, who aptly called him a "snake-oil salesman" on The View. He went completely apeshit, refusing to let the imagined "feud" die down. He kept blubbering about it for months and months, making as many jabs about her appearance as he possibly could. There was also the scuttled TV show Lady or a Tramp in which he planned to school "out of control" young women in how to be dainty, and then there was this.
So why do people still put up with him? Remember when he went bankrupt and everyone thought we were finally done with him? That was a glorious time. So what happened? Why did he come back for a thoroughly un-American second act? I mean his brand of self-aggrandizing, bewigged machismo was kind of de rigeur in the 80's and charmingly old-timey in the 90's, but now it's just passé and exhausting and increasingly offensive. And he never stops! He's seemingly impervious to criticism, his ego (and his toupee) just getting impossibly bigger and bigger and bigger.
Though maybe that's backfiring. Maybe that bullet-proof exterior will be his undoing. People do seem, finally, to be less charmed by his, well, snake-oil ways. Some are even turning their heads away from boredom. I mean, if you've witnessed time and time again how unstoppable the juggernaut is, you just stop worrying about it. There's nothing you can do. And then, after a while, you stop paying attention altogether. The Apprentice was canceled last year (though he'll tell you it was his choice to end it) and now he's been reduced to bellowing about perfectly likable actresses who have absolutely nothing to do with him. Hopefully this marks the beginning of his dimming-casino-lights fade into obscurity. We're tired.

More financial woes for Ed McMahon!
The former Tonight Show sidekick may be losing his home because he can't pay his mortgage.
And, now, he's just been sued by a creditor!
Citibank has filed suit against McMahon, claiming he owes them money.
They're asking for $179,687.08 from Ed.

According to Access Hollywood, Christie Brinkley is still soooo pissed at soon to be ex-husband Peter Cook that she's asked for the divorce court proceedings to be made public.
She apparently wants all his dirty laundry to air out for all of us to see.

Brinkley filed for divorce from Cook when it surfaced that he was having an affair with his then 18-year old assistant.

Former Nightline host Ted Koppel is desperate to sell his home.
It's actually been on the market for THREE YEARS already!
Koppel has been trying to sell his suburban Washington, DC home since 2005, when he originally listed it for $4.1 million.
And, now in 2008, he's cut the value by more than half.
Whatever it takes! Gotta unload!
Last August, he lowered the asking price to $2.3 million for the 9,000 square-foot, six bedroom home. It is located on 2.5 acres and includes an indoor pool, a maid's quarters, a gym, a sauna, and even a horse barn.
His current asking price is now $1.94 million.
As for Koppel and his wife, they have moved into a larger home a few miles away but still have not been able to sell their old place.
The economy is in such a shitter.
But, at least it's good for any potential home buyer's out there!

French law officials want to throw the book at 73-year old screen legend Brigitte Bardot for inciting racial hatred toward the Muslim community.
Brigitte (a vocal animal activist) stated in a letter that she wrote to then interior minister Nicolas Sarkozy (now President of the country) protesting the method of slaying sheep during the Muslim festival of Aid El-Kebir.
"We're fed up with being led around by this whole population which is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts," she said.
A bit harsh, baby?????
Bardot was upset because the sheep weren't being stunned before they are bled to death, which is the 'traditional' method.
The letter was published in a magazine and distributed to supporters of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
Several anti-racism groups in France filed complaints about the letter, accusing Bardot of provoking discrimination and racial hatred toward Muslims.
Bardot has been convicted of similar offenses on four previous occasions since 1997 and fined $2,250-$7,500.
The court will deliver its verdict June 3.
You'd think that after all those years of being alive the old gal would have gained some wisdom and learned some diplomacy!

Out of all the conspiracy theories in the world, I never thought that Sonny Bono's untimely death would be one of them. An ex-FBI private investigator think he was beaten death before he hit a tree while skiing according to AdelaideNow.
"It's nonsense for anyone to now try to suggest that Bono died after crashing into a tree. There's zero evidence in this autopsy report… to show such an accident happened. Instead, there's powerful proof he was assassinated."This was an evil plot that was carried out to almost perfection by ruthless assassins," Mr Gunderson told the paper.
The former agent, who has been researching Bono's accident for the past decade, said top officials linked to an international drug and weapons ring feared the singer-turned-politician was about to expose their crimes - so they had him killed on the slopes.
Bono, an experienced skiier, was ambushed on the slopes by hired hitmen, who beat him to death and then staged a tree collision, Mr Gunderson said.
He called for authorities to dig up Bono's remains and open a homicide investigation.
His claims have reportedly been backed by top forensics experts who fear Nevada authorities were too quick to call the death a skiing accident.
Investigator Bob Fletcher had also confessed he sent evidence of a 10-year study that linked top US government officials to arms and weapons dealers to Bono less than a month before his death, the Globe reported.
"(Bono) was going to make it his No.1 priority… There's no doubt in my mind Sonny was murdered by someone who needed him silenced," Mr Fletcher told the paper
Wow, this guy needs a life. What is the point of bringing this all up again because you know it is going to be proven that Sonny Bono's unfortunate death was due to accidentally hitting a tree.

Who knew they made blooper reels back then, but I am glad they did! I really loved The Dick Van Dyke Show and always wondered what it would be like when they messed up because it seemed like such a fun set…now we know it really was!!!
Why can’t they make more shows like this one? Maybe then there would be more sitcoms on the air today!
Last night, at the Regal Union Square's 7:35 showing of Best Picture No Country for Old Men, the audience catching up on the Oscar winner they had missed was left underwhelmed and confused. "Is you serious? asked a teenage girl, addressing the screen as the credits rolled after the final monologue. "Best picture, my ass," added another youth. Half the theater started to laugh.
When the flashbulbs fade away, and the pomp and circumstance die down, the only thing that really matters is: Who won an Oscar? In the category of “Best Picture” it was none other than “No Country for Old Men.”
The neo-western flick was honored with the top award at the 2008 Academy Awards on Sunday Night at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Nancy Reagan was hospitalized in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The former First Lady took a tumble in her Bel-Air home. She is said to be doing doing well and did not break a hip, as initially feared.
"She's joking and visiting in her room," said her doctor.
Nancy is 86 years old.

Look at the way Kirk Douglas, 92, stops and signs autographs, poses for pictures with fans and for the paparazzi and then waves goodbye as his drives away! Maybe if more of young Hollywood followed his example the paparazzi would treat them with the same respect that they paid to Kirk Douglas who earned the respect he gets by his actions.

Old Navy, the cheap clothing company that clothes the girls you want to sleep with but don't have much respect for and the guys who are better looking than you are but also not as cool, has announced it's shedding its family image. According to WWD, now it's time for the company to show the world some "big ideas." Big ideas like what? Urban safari for one. "[Old Navy president Dawn Robertson] described the first collection, for February, as an "urban safari look" encompassing African-inspired dresses, safari suiting, tank tops with touches of lace, khakis, city shorts and plenty of red and prints." Which is such a big idea that it was thought of by nearly every designer three years ago and by Project Runway contestant Michael Knight in Season 3! That was, of course, the challenge he lost with. But ever onwards. What might March bring?
"In March, it will be all about brights and whites inspired by Palm Beach, while April's collection will have a surf appeal. For May, there's a tropical, Hawaiian point of view, and for June, it's a glitzier grouping, reflecting Old Navy's sponsorship of the MTV Music Awards. "

Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the 86 year old sister of the late John F. Kennedy, has been hospitalized.
Shriver’s daughter, Maria Shriver, says her mom has had a number of health challenges recently and “in every case, she’s bounced back.”

My name is peter kennedy, today I met kathy lee. Just thought I’d let you know how it went.
So here it goes… around 11am I arrived at work, by the way I’m a waiter at a resturant in downey,ca. As I was saying around 11:45am in walks a young girl along with two women. I couldn’t help but stare at the woman in yellow, I kept thinking in my head “where the hell have I seen her at”. Once I realized who she was I asked are you kathy lee and she responded “yes, how the heck do you know who I am” in a good way not a bad way. I’m guessing she said that because I look young and I’m only 21.
She then told me she was in town because her daughter had an audition at the downey movie studios next to were I work. I then showed her to her table and I politely asked her if I could take a piture with her when she was threw with lunch.
She was extremely nice and agreed. By the way I wasn’t her server someone else was. About 2 hrs later I was standing around when I hear my name being called… it was kathy lee haha she said “peter hi do you still wanna take a picture with me?” I said yes of course… she was great one of the nices celebrities I’ve met besides anna faris whose also had lunch there too. Before kathy said good bye she told me she was working on a book and a couple plays and her focus rite now was her daughters acting career.. And that was that great day wouldn’t you say… At least she wasn’t like
