Every morning when he wakes up and stares out of the window of his ritzy New York apartment, Eliot Spitzer sighs and tells himself, not today. The former governor is still atoning for wearing socks during his affair with prostitute Ashley Dupre, but he has so much to say about what's happening in our country right now. Since we broke the news that Dupre's interview with Diane Sawyer would air this Friday, Spitzer evidently decided to poke his head out of his apartment. In his sermon from hell in this morning's Washington Post, he provides a naughty prescription for restoring America:
If he had just waited a year or so, Spitzer could have gotten a lower price on his fun jaunts with paid women. As his one-time paramour Dupre chose ABC for her "consulting" fee and first televised interview since the scandal, Spitzer has followed up a bland interview with Time Out New York with an editorial in today's Post.
In the essay, Spitzer renews his call for a unified regulatory agency instead of an expanding bureaucracy. The piece is mostly an analysis of the ongoing situation in the financial sector, although it does give a shout-out to his former lifestyle:
Although mistakes I made in my private life now prevent me from participating in these issues as I have in the past, I very much hope and expect that President Obama and his new administration will have the strength and wisdom to do again what FDR did.
You just know Spitzer will be back. If it takes forever, he'll wait forever. And as alert reader Chileno notes, between "capital infusions," "explosion of leverage", "ability to probe", "invisible hand" and all that "self-regulation," Spitzer will be plenty busy with his favorite subject when he does.

I just loved Donny and Marie Osmond’s music medley on GMA that I had to share it with y’all.
BTW America’s favorite brother and sister act are taking on Vegas for several months starting next month at the Flamingo, so go and see Donny and Marie do what do best live, I am know I am considering breaking my Vegas ban to see them.

Marie Osmond loves her bigger brother so much she immortalized him as doll in her collection!!! And he loves her so much he actually did a photoshoot with his mini-me for her! Seriously Donny was as cute as his doll in that behind-the-scenes video!
For those of you who are big Donny fans (like me!) you can buy his doll autographed by him at Marie Osmond’s Doll.

Marie Osmond is getting her own talk show in 2009 according to ETonline! I am so excited for this show, but does anyone else think it will be weird for her to do a show without Donny? Hopefully he will get one too, but in the meantime we can watch him on Entertainment Tonight!!!

Donny and Marie Osmond might be cashing in on her success from Dancing with the Stars and be back on TV with a new show according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources have indicated that there's been interest from networks and syndicators in the pair, who previously starred in such series as the 1970s variety show "The Donny & Marie Show" and the late-'90s daytime talker "Donny & Marie."
The talks revolve around hosting duties for reality series in primetime and a syndicated talk show for daytime, sources said.
I really hope they get a deal or two because I would watch them everyday! I am glad that the two of them are finding success again because they really deserve it!

With the judges, suddenly tough on everyone after weeks of soft-pedaling it, there were no perfect scores and no clear winner at the Dancing with the Stars finals on Monday night.
Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy lead with a total 55 out of 60 for their fun, disco cha cha cha (28) and her uneven freestyle (27). The Spice Girls were on hand to cheer Mel B on. They were pretty vocal when the judges critiqued Mel and Max as they jeered loudly.
Meanwhile, the charismatic, two-time Indy 500 winner, Helio Castroneves and his partner, Julianne Hough had a total of 54 — a technically sloppy jive (25) but the best freestyle of the night (29) with loads of difficult, dynamic and daring lifts. Mel-B though has emerged from tonight’s ballroom battle with the highest score, leading by one point over Helio in the judges scoring. Poll position for sure but one last dance and the fans vote will decide who claims the mirror-ball trophy during Tuesday’s 2-hour season finale.
And that’s where Marie Osmond comes into play. I am not going to couch my words regarding Marie. She shouldn’t have been in the final and she was justifiably scored much lower by the judges then Helio and Mel-B. The fact that she wasn’t very gracious when the judges delicately critiqued her poor technique added to the embarrasement. Let’s hope her fans are a little more realistic.

Donny Osmond broke the news on Entertainment Tonight (check the site to hear him make the announcement) that Marie and him will be doing Vegas in July. Donny and Marie signed on to do a show at the MGM Grand from July 17th to the 23rd and I can't wait to see what they do. I might just break my never go to Vegas again rule and suffer through the 120 degrees of heat just to see these two performing together again live.
I am tickled purple over the news!

OMG! I couldn’t take my eyes off of Donny Osmond! He dances like a White & Nerdy man!!!
So my friend sent me that because we all went to see Weird Al Yankovic on Saturday and one of the many many many laughs was the video of Donny in the screen behind him when he sang White & Nerdy. For years I have been hearing them talk about what an awesome show Weird Al was, so I finally gave in and boy I am glad I did. If you get a chance to see him the next time he tours (which he says won’t be for another year) I beyond suggest it! He puts on a show and then some!!!
BTW I will be posting more videos from Weird Al’s YouTube page in the future, so deal with it!!!!

Heading to the Republican convention? You could do worse than follow the advice proffered in today's Times "36 Hours in" column on the Twin Cities, penned by Minneapolitan David Carr. It's full of good advice for restaurants, culture, and entertainment. And bars. There are really just a couple of our favorite places that he missed: you can get a good (for the midwest) pizza and a cheap pitcher of Summit at Pizza Luce on Lyndale Ave. If the lot's full, there's usually street parking readily available a block away on 
Marie Osmond was ambushed on the Larry King Show by Larry himself, who asked, “if her 16 year old adopted son, Michael, was in rehab?”. Marie was surprised and asked how Larry knew but kept very composed. He is in rehab to heal his addiction for substance abuse. There was some discusion about Michael’s problems being contemporary of his generation and times. Marie strongly stood up for her son. She said that she was proud of him. I am sure Marie didn’t appreciate Larry King bringing the subject up and I sympathize for her over the troubles her family has been through in recent times. I know I am a bad person for saying this, but I really hope this doesn’t lead to her winning DWS, strictly on a wave of popularity. I think the shows credibility has suffered by some of the recent eliminations.
