Okay, so he hasn’t really been relevant since the early 90s, but that doesn’t mean Canadian singer Bryan Adams doesn’t have fans. I’m talking crazy nutjob fans who follow him everywhere he goes. A mother and son who first met Bryan in a restaurant have been showing up at his home and other places - to the point that Adams is seeking police protection. Turns out these devoted fans have a long history of mental illness. Lucky him!
Rock star Bryan Adams has called in police after being stalked by a mother and her son, it emerged today.
The 49-year-old, who lives in Chelsea, has been hounded by the obsessed fans for a number of weeks, and has now involved Scotland Yard.
The pair, understood to be from Romania, first saw the Canadian singer in a restaurant and approached him for an autograph.
They later turned up at his west London home and have been shadowing him ever since. It is thought they are suffering from psychiatric problems.
Adams, who is famous for the hit song Everything I Do (I Do It For You), which spent 16 weeks at number one from July 1991, is said to be “very concerned” by the harassment.
A source said: “They have become obsessed with Bryan, turning up at his house and following him everywhere.
“It started when they saw him in a restaurant. Bryan likes to keep a low profile and is hardly the most recognisable rock star.
‘He was happy to sign an autograph, but this woman and her son have become obsessed with him.
‘He doesn’t want them to get in any serious trouble, but he really wants to be left alone by them.’
Romania- maybe they’re vampires! With really bad taste in music! Maybe I’m just being cruel today, but when I picture someone stalking Bryan Adams, I imagine them stepping straight out of 1987 - pegged jeans, Reebok high tops and teased up mall hair. If I were Bryan, I’d call the cops too. Who needs to be reminded of those hideous fashions ever again?
Bryan has actually been doing quite well lately as a photographer. He had a major exhibit of his work earlier this year in Germany, featuring photos of musicians such as Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse and Rod Stweart.
By the way, Bryan’s hit, “Straight From the Heart,” was my high school prom song. Yeah. Time to take my Geritol now.
Bryan Adams is shown at the grand opening of his photo exhibition at Roemische Hoefe in Berlin. The exhibition is part of the “Hear the World Initiative” charity project. Photo credit: WENN.

Amy Adams and Ben Stiller got up close and personal for a scene from Night at the Museum 2, in which Amy plays Amelia Earhart!
I didn't see the first one, but I just saw Tropic Thunder, and if Ben's performance is half as funny, it should be one heckuva movie!
He was no Tom Cruise, but he was damn funny!
Amy Adams is engaged to her boyfriend of six years, Darren Legallo, according to USA Today. Actor/artist Darren proposed to the Enchanted actress with a diamond by French jewelry designer Jean Dousset - tres romantique!
The couple met in acting class in 2001, and began dating after being friends for a year. USA Today reports that the two plan to marry sometime next year.
This couple sounds like they're doing things the right way - but will it stand the test of time (and Hollywood)?

"During [the American Society of Magazine Editors Awards], I sat between two of my all-time favorite people - one was Tina Brown's husband, Harry Evans; the other was the young writer Christopher Buckley," writes 85-year-old NY Post gossip columnist Liz Smith. "Young" Christopher Buckley, author of Thank You For Smoking, is a fresh-faced 55 years old. (The Post's other gossip columnist, Cindy Adams, is just 82). [

Today's Cindy Adams column is about some trashy Heather Mills tell-all book. Probably. It's sort of hard to tell. Translator? "The narrative then osmoses into her realizing the key to power and, thus, selling that horrifying story of losing her leg for the highest newspaper bid. It included this woman Doing It in her hospital bed. It was about losing a leg but the sex being as incredible as ever. Resolved to use this newfound power, she said, 'And I'll flirt with anyone.'" [
