Hard at work on Thanksgiving day, Halle Berry was spotted on the Vancouver set of “Frankie and Alice” on Thursday afternoon (November 27).
The Academy Award-winning “Monster’s Ball” babe joined up with co-star Stellan Skarsgard, as they filmed scenes in a scenic floral garden.
She’s been hard at work up north in Canada, and last night (October 30) was no different for Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry.
In her first role since the birth of daughter Nahla, the “Monster’s Ball” babe was spotted filming a few scenes on the set of her new movie “Frankie and Alice”.
The model that has been dubbed ‘the new Kate Moss’ seems to be following in the white powdery footprints that Kate left behind. Alice Dellal is currently working it on the runways of New York Fashion Week, meanwhile pictures of the young model at a cocaine party are floating around the internet.
Although Alice is friends with known party-girls Peaches Geldof and Jamie Winston, she has up until this point managed to keep her ‘heiress image’ clean. She’s the granddaughter of property tycoon Jack Dellal and is set to inherit an estimated £800 million.
Alice is just a hop-skip-and-jump away from becoming a household name when she takes over for Kate Moss as the face of Agent Provocateur. Lucky for her, the fashion world seems to care not that young girls are anorexic or drug addicts…so no worries Allie!

Alice Greczyn is apparently not that new in the business. She’s been in such blockbusters as “The Dukes of Hazzard” and “Fat Albert” so you should probably know who she is. If you don’t then let me introduce you to my new wife. She likes long walks on the beach and sex with me…so don’t even think about it.

This morning's New York Times begs your pardon for an error in yesterday's editorial that said no winner of a contested caucus had ever gone on to win the White House. Turns out Dubya did, in 2000. We know the Times is rabidly anticipating the end of the Bush administration, but how hard is it to look up what happened the election before last? Admittedly, this whole "caucus" concept is a toughie. Yesterday, two of the most popular searches on Google, according to Room 8 founder Gur Tsabar, were "Iowa caucasus" and "caucasus," neither of which look quite right. A Caucasus isn't so much an agonizing exercise in televised self-government as a Russian mountain range. God Bless America.
Really the best way to sum up how a caucus works is to consult Lewis Carroll on the subject:

What's this? The New York Times bestseller list "is not a completely accurate barometer of what the reading public is buying," public editor Clark Hoyt informed us last week. This, even in spite of recent adjustments to the top-secret formula, devised in order to prevent publishers from "gaming the system" that determines the list's rankings: Appalling! Well, not really. As people who work in publishing like to tell their disappointed authors, the mysteriously-weighted list has always been essentially meaningless. Unless those authors have bestseller bonuses in their contracts, in which case: The list is extremely meaningful! And so while the list does not mean everything, it must mean something. For example, the #1 spot on this week's Hardcover Fiction list is occupied by a John Grisham book called "Playing For Pizza." What's that about?
Well, this is what "Playing For Pizza" is about: "An American third-string quarterback joins the Italian National Football League's Parma Panthers." "To say that Italy--the land of opera, fine wines, extremely small cars, romance, and Football Americano-- holds a few surprises for Rick Dockery would be something of an understatement," promises Doubleday's website. We'll bet!
Basically all this means is that if something says "John Grisham" on it, people will buy it absolutely no matter what. Which: Duh.
#2 is Alice Sebold's book club lady book "The Almost Moon," about a lady who kills her burdensomely ill mother. Everyone hates this book, but your mom and mine are still going to read it. Got a problem with that? You know what you can do.
#3 is Ken Follett's enormous historical novel "World Without End," which people are reading because they, like me, like their medieval novels as smutty as possible. You know what word is in this book a lot? "Cunny." Hot, right?
There aren't too many surprises elsewhere on the list. "A Thousand Splendid Suns," the second of Khaled Hosseini's "vitamin books" (books people buy to assuage their guilt for not knowing anything about Afghanistan/some other afflicted region), is down a spot to #4. "Run," Ann Patchett's lauded latest, is down to slot 11, from 8 last week. Otherwise, it's all schlocky thrillers and paranormal mysteries.
Oh! At #13 there's a book called "The Orc King." "The dark elf Drizzt Do'Urden seeks vengeance against the orcs; the first book of a new trilogy, Transitions." YES. YES PLEASE.
And at #17 on the extended list is Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky's new translation of "War and Peace," which has convinced a lot of people that they are finally going to get around to reading "War and Peace." Hey, I am! As soon as I finish finding out what Drizzt Do'Urden is up to.
Crazy-haired poet and rock star Paul Muldoon has shown up for work at the New Yorker—he recently replaced longtime poetry editor Alice Quinn. Says some anonymous blogger: "I just introduced myself to Paul Muldoon in the elevator and can report that the new poetry editor of The New Yorker is not much taller than the old one, Alice Quinn, but he wears long pants. The era of knickers is over! He was carrying an alarmingly slim volume that was the in-house archival scrapbook of verse that has run in The New Yorker since 1967--forty years of three poems a week. Anyway, he looked like he was just dying to publish a poem about a broken plate and a dirty shirt." As long as there are no more hideous Joni Mitchell poems and he can keep the junior staffers out of the magazine, that's fine by us. We'll just keep happily not really reading the poems like everyone else!

malice: I feel like he's stealing black people clothing from the 30's. But I just woke up. And the hair!
memily: The Jezebels think it's very Grey Gardens.
malice: Hmm. Nope!

malice: You're not getting the not-subtle homage to Isabella Blow? The face hats?
malice: Her style is there in spirit, I guess he's trying to have it be a tribute to her and that's why it's such a direct reference to her style choices. It's sweet.

malice: I think the Ill-fitting dress on Uliana (the one with the yellow bag) is a mistake, too 90's Anna Sui.
malice: The print is little rainbow mice, which is very Marc. And someone else did a mice print a few seasons back but I can't remember who... Alice Roi? Jill Stuart? And the dress on Marina after it I sort of hate, but I love that she's wearing glasses. The thing about Marc is that some of his pieces really do look better on someone with a body like Isabella Blow. So it can look ghastly going down the runway but buyers should know how it fits.
malice: Oh and there were all of two black models.
memily: Right, Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn.
memily: Why does Marc's show start later every year? This year it was 2 hours late.
malice: Oh hah, weeeellll. The guy has problems, he suffers from exhaustion! Honestly, it was probably tech issues this time, that would be my guess. It could be that he makes people wait, it could be models. Also they did the whole show backwards says style.com, so maybe he decided that at the last minute.
memily: Oh good call!
malice: Okay some of the outfits are downright bad, but I think they're all inspired. It very much goes along with my theory about the taking off one accessory before you leave the house.
memily: Oh hmm?
malice: That that is bullshit unless you want no one to talk about you.
