Criss Angel was not a happy camper at the Miss USA pageant this past weekend. His girlfriend, Miss Nevada USA Veronica Grabowski, didn't make the final cut and Criss was in a pissy mood when he ran into Norm Clarke, columnist for the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Apparently, he has beef with Clarke for reporting that Criss chatted with pageant judge Sandy Mecca before the competition, urging her to give his girlfriend "high marks."
According to Page Six, Angel's displeasure became apparent when he started yelling at Clarke during a chance run-in, calling the writer a "[bleeping] idiot!" and threatening the columnist, who sports an eye patch over his right eye. Criss told Clarke, "Don't ever write another word about me or you'll need an eye patch over your other eye."
That would be such an awesome showdown--a pirate vs. a magician. I wonder if I can get these donkeys to perform at my birthday party in a cage match.
Sometimes you wonder how your life would have been if you had done things differently. If you had gone to a different college, if you had taken that other job, married that guy, got off your fat ass and worked a bit harder…
What would life be like now for Britney Spears if she had staged a successful comeback at the Video Music Awards? Criss Angel was going to get involved in the performance of Britney’s Gimme More single at the show, performing magic tricks arnd moving beyond her previous stage show. The Los Angeles Times asked him what he had up his sleeve.
“With Britney I presented concepts to create, within her performance, illusions that would happen in the open. You would see Britney and then she would split into two Britneys and then four Britneys with no boxes or covers. It would just be a visual effect using no screens. People in the past have used the art of magic in music performances but mostly in a cheesy way. Magic has not kept up with popular culture and technology.
“Other things I wanted to do with her was to literally transform her into birds and then for her to reappear in the audience. I also thought of having her levitate over the audience. It was going to be really visual moments that were all epic tableaux that were beautiful, artistic, elegant and, most important, unique — things MTV hasn’t seen in music. I wanted to captivate people in the moment. That was the essence of what I wanted to do with the Britney performance, because I think the performance she did with the snake was a highlight of her career and I wanted to trump that and I thought we had it.”
So, what happened?
“Britney is really strong with her own ideas. And what I had planned wasn’t an easy thing to do and would have required a lot of rehearsals. Ultimately, I told her I needed 100% commitment or I wasn’t going to be able to do this. I told her that, ‘You have to feel comfortable.’ So, we explored it and she decided it wasn’t for her, and I completely understand.”
That Criss Angel idea sounds awesome - it’s a pity that she deemed it too much work. Kind of like turning up for a court appearance.
If this had taken place, and Britney pulled it off with such pizazz we all exclaimed “Girlfriend is back!” and catapulted her average sounding single to the top of the charts, would she still be the crazy lady we saw walking around in her wedding dress? Or has she been a little nutty all along and has her fall been inevitable from the day she appeared scantily clad in her high school uniform?
I know it is going to take more than just a hit single to cure her crazy, but maybe she just has an attention disorder and that would be a good way of getting some positive attention. This I say in my totally unqualified speculation.
I’d really love to see Brit stomp all over her craziness, get her shit together and go back to being that totally amazing performer she actually was. Remember when she was great?

Considering the fact that Pam's successfully ruined two previous marriages of her own, I hardly think Criss is to blame. Either way, why would anyone be attracted to this man, who looks more like a teenaged goth chick who has somehow managed to shoplift a ton of bling and a pair of expensive jeans, anyways? Still, tongues are wagging after seeing Pam partying at the Club LAX in Las Vegas only days before filing her divorce from her husband of the moment, Rick Salomon. According to Criss, the two are just friends, but "people will talk about any celebrity that I'm with. It's inevitable!" Of course, isn't that his whole point for hanging out with them?

Just two short months after marrying Rick Salomon between her twice nightly Las Vegas magic shows, Pamela Anderson gave onlookers at LAX nightclub reason to believe that the magic between herself and her latest hubby has already faded.
Speaking of magic, it was none other than the “Illusionist” himself, Criss Angel, who seemed to be sticking a wrench into Rick’s long term plans of wedded bliss with his Baywatch babe.
Last night marked the 10th annual Angel Ball, put on by Denise Rich and friends to raise money for the G&P Foundation for Cancer Research.
According to Fox news, “She (Denise) stuffed 1,400 people into the Marriott Marquis ballroom, mingling her performers with big A-list names such as Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Joss Stone and John Legend with Kelly Ripa, Joan Collins, Clive Davis, Bar Refaeli, Petra Nemcova, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Chace Crawford… and so on.”
Last night was an evening of to honor the outstanding accomplishments over the past year in the horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic book industries this evening to honor the genres.
The night opened with a bang as Spike TV honored Harrison Ford with the first ever Hero Award for his cumulative work in such films as "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones" and "The Fugitive." The Hero Award is given to a true superstar - an icon in the hearts and minds of fans everywhere, a living legend, whose body of work inspires all those with a love of the fantastic. Other special honorees of the evening included "Comic-Con Icon Award" winner Neil Gaiman; The 25th anniversary celebration of "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" and the second annual "SCREAM Rock Immortal" presented to Alice Cooper.
The summer blockbuster "Transformers" blew away the competition winning several honors, including Best Sci-Fi Movie and Best F/X, while star Shia LaBeouf was named Sci-Fi Star and co-star Megan Fox walked away with Sci-Fi Siren. The stunning Jessica Alba was awarded Best Female Superhero and "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere was recognized as Breakout Star.
Memorable performances of the night included Avenged Sevenfold's rendition of "Scream" from their soon to be released album. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne took the stage tonight to a standing ovation. The night belonged to rock immortal Alice Cooper as he closed the show with an all-star rock performance of "I Love The Dead/School's Out" with rock gods Slash and Rob Zombie.

Now that they shock of Britney Spears sad VMA performance has worn off, we are starting to wonder what the hell happened to Criss Angel? After weeks of rehearsing something we assumed would be Criss Angel-esque and mindblowing, we didn’t get any magic and the only illusion going on was in Britney’s mind that she could still pull off an outfit like that.
Just minutes after Britney’s trainwreck of a show, Criss was filmed saying he didn’t have ‘much to do with Britney’s performance’. So that leads to believe that either a) she really messed up some of the special effects they worked hard on and now Criss doesn’t want his name attached to her and this big hot mess, or b) he was just getting some Britney booty the past few weeks and using her performance as an excuse to be seen out together late at night and early in the morning. Either way he bailed on her to hang with Tommy Lee. It’s sad that Britney’s being passed around more than her lollipops.
To be fair, there is a story being floated by Britney’s people that MTV made her scrap her entire show she had worked out with Criss due to insurance reasons. There was supposed to be mirrors, diappearances and floating.
It seems like it was forever ago when we first learned that Britney Spears was planning a comeback. But the fabled MTV Video Music Awards performance is already upon us.
The troubled singer is poised to pull herself out of musical obscurity with a killer performance at the 2007 VMAs scheduled for this Sunday night. She will perform her new song “Gimme More” with the help of Mindfreak Criss Angel.
It’s like that nagging cold virus that won’t go away. Britney Spears’ custody battle keeps on bugging the world around her, but this time there may be some good news for the “Gimme More” singer.
According to Brit’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, she may not have to worry about the supposed complaints to child welfare that were previously worrying her. “It does not appear the county will pursue any action at this time,” Wasser told press.
Despite numerous reports to the contrary, Criss Angel is adamant when he says that his relationship with Britney Spears is purely professional.
The Mindfreak stud recently spoke to PEOPLE, insisting that he’s merely lending a hand to the Toxic songstress as she tunes up for a possible MTV Video Music Awards performance.
