Is Camila Alves mad at employee who sent a bag to Matt’s ex, Penelope Cruz?

Camila Alves is more than just Matthew McConaughey’s baby-mama. She is the designer and owner of her own line of purses and handbags, called Muxo.

According to the Muxo Web site, Camila and her mother make every bag by hand: “every stitch sewn, every piece of iron detail, every tassle of fringe, custom made, designed, and crafted by me and my mother’s two hands. It takes us 5 to 8 hours to make each handbag. No machines, no assembly line…so every one is not only original, there’s really no two alike.”

To get top stars to wear their clothes, designers often send out free samples, and Muxo’s PR reps are no exception. They sent out freebies to Hollywood’s biggest stars and trendsetters, but one employee made a big oops by sending out a purse to Matt’s ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz. According to Star, Camila wasn’t at all happy.

A source says she’s jealous of the sizzling Spanish actress. “Camila is a little insecure about her relationship with Matt because they’re not married. The fear that he might reconnect with Penelope is still lurking….She’s just praying Penelope marries Javier Bardem soon.”

I’m guessing the Muxo employee who sent Penelope the bag is now shopping around her resume.

I don’t think Camila has too much to worry about. I don’t pretend to even vaguely comprehend what thoughts go through Matthew McConaughey’s head, but Camila seems like a much better match for him than Penelope, who is more high-maintenance. I wouldn’t expect to see Penelope carrying her new baby in a sling to a Texas Longhorns game, as Camila recently did.

After participating in a 10K run in Austin, Matthew even told People that Camila is the love of his life.

Also, I can’t see Penelope dumping the smokin’ Javier Bardem for Matt. She’s surely had her share living in an RV.

Note by Celebitchy: Take the Star story about Camila getting jealous with a bunch of salt on top of a cold margarita glass. It could be true, or it might just be wishful thinking.

Matthew McConaughey’s saved Levi’s placenta to plant in fruit orchard

Whoever thought anything as gooey and gelatinous as a placenta would become so hip in Hollywood? I’m telling you, it is the foetomaternal organ of choice for celebrities these days. A few years ago there was that whole “I swear I was joking incident” when Tom Cruise said he was going to eat Suri’s placenta. Which we all know was not a joke. Although I still think it was rude of Tom not to offer it to Suri. It was her placenta after all.

Now Matthew McConaughey has jumped on the celebrity placenta bandwagon. Actually since there’s only two celebs involved, I think it’s more like a tandem bike at this point. So Matthew has taken up the seat right behind Tom Cruise and decided to go indigenous on son Levi’s placenta. He’s going to bury it underneath a fruit tree.

Matthew McConaughey is giving new meaning to the term “fruit of one’s loins.”

The quirky hunk has saved the placenta from the birth of his son, Levi, and he says he’s going to plant that membranous fetal envelope in his yard, according to McConaughey’s recent interview with CNN’s House Call With Dr. Sanjay Gupta, which will be televised in two parts Aug. 9 and Aug. 16.

“It’s going to be in the orchards, and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit,” the actor said, per a transcript of the very informative sit-down. “When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river…and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.

“This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it. It was gorgeous.” Beautiful sentiment, yes. Tribal and earthy and natural, yes. But we still recommend taking a pass on the fruit salad when you’re partying at McConaughey’s house.

This is actually not that uncommon. I spent a little time on Wikipedia and Googled “afterbirth” (by the way, never do that and click the “images” button; those pictures will stay with you for a long, long time); and it turns out all sorts of cultures do interesting and useful things with placentas.

The Māori of New Zealand traditionally bury the placenta from a newborn child to emphasize the relationship between humans and the earth… The Kwakiutl of British Columbia bury girls’ placentas to give the girl skill in digging clams, and expose boys’ placentas to ravens to encourage future prophetic visions… Nepalese think of the placenta as a friend of the baby’s; Malaysian Orang Asli regard it as the baby’s older sibling. The Ibo of Nigeria consider the placenta the deceased twin of the baby, and conduct full funeral rites for it. Native Hawaiians believe that the placenta is a part of the baby, and traditionally plant it with a tree which can then grow alongside the child.

So everything considered, Matthew and Camila planting Levi’s placenta actually has a long and interesting – and some might say beautiful – history to it. And they haven’t made any threats of consuming it. Which, I found out, would be called “placentophagy,” if they actually pulled a Tom Cruise. Wikipedia is absolutely fabulous.

She’s ready for the runway! Matthew on the other hand…… well, he looks like he just got done stocking inventory at a Walmart Warehouse. We like the shirtless version of McConaughey lots better!

Tending to her newborn son like a responsible mother, the Brazilian beauty was spotted doing a little shopping while toting Levi around in a sash-style carrier.

Ok magazine published more pics of Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves and newborn son, Levi.

There is no doubt in mind that little Levi is going to be just like his daddy. Matthew says his little guy already has a wetsuit! “He’ll be surfing next weekend,” he says. “I can’t wait to get him out there. All the new sights and sounds and smells are so great around here.”

Camila says that he even looks like his daddy. “Everybody thinks he looks like me because of the hair and skin tone,” she says. “I think he looks more like Matthew every day.”

It think Matthew is going to be such a great daddy. He just has a calmness about him that I think will pass on to his baby boy.

Speaking of boys, Matthew says he and Cam knew all along that Levi was going to be a boy. He held his son for the first five minutes of his life as doctors worked on Camila.

He says, “I said, ‘Come here, little man. I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to her.”

Camila was in labor for an amazing 60 hours. Matthew says labor was not exactly what he had envisioned. “This is where I learned - and no one tells you this - but having a baby is a bloody, pukey, sweaty, primeval thing! And I mean that as a beautiful thing. It is wild.”

“We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”

Not only did Matthew do a dance between Camilla’s legs, he also kept a diary of the entire experience and the hospital stay.

“I have it all chronicled. Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this, let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”

Matthew McConaughey proposed to his girlfriend (and mother of his son) hours after she gave birth, according to the National Enquirer. They say that after he held his son for the first time he wanted to get married. Which makes a lot of sense; I’m sure it’s a very emotional experience. The two are keeping the information under wraps for a while.

Hollywood playboy Matthew McConaughey has been tamed at last! And all it took was a tiny 7 pound, 4 ounce baby boy to finally persuade the “Fool’s gold” star to say goodbye to his bachelor days. Matthew popped the question to Brazilian stunner Camila Alves, 25, just hours after she gave birth to their son, Levi, on July 7, The Enquirer has learned. And she said yes!

“Camila was absolutely overjoyed - a baby and a marriage proposal on the same day,” revealed an insider. “It was magic.” The source said once Matthew held little Levi, he knew that marriage was the next step. Matt’s privately been diamond shopping, and he wants Camila to design her own engagement ring, the insider added. They aren’t announcing their marriage plans yet - and just like they sold the first photos of their baby, it’s possible they’ll try to cash in on the wedding.

…”The baby made Matthew realize that Camila and Levi are now his No. 1 priority - and nothing else in the world matters.” While they haven’t set a date, Matthew hopes to be married by Christmas, the insider said. “It will probably be something small and intimate. They want to get married on a beach at sunset.”

A beach at sunset sounds very Matthew McConaughey. Then again, so does the idea of him wearing a coconut bra. But it fits with his whole relaxed surfer dude vibe. I’m kind of surprised he ended up being so traditional, but it is very sweet. Matt and Camila seem very happy together, and like they’re going to make great parents. I bet they’ll manage to get married in private and tell OK! Magazine about it the next week or something.

So after I half kiddingly hoped that Matthew McConaughey was going to name his son after his favorite beer, it seems he and Camila Alves have chosen a more predictable, suitable name for their child.

Levi Alves McConaughey.

Proud papa Matthew told the world the name of his first child, and what it meant to him.

“Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person.

Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.’”

Together, Matthew and Camila have released the following statement:

“We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin’.

Matthew McConaughey girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed a baby boy into the world Monday night.

No word on the child’s name yet, but remember when rumors were abound about Matthew wanting to name it ‘Bud’? He’s a fan of the beer, and his older brother actually named his kid, ‘Miller Lyte’. Heh. I prefer ‘Arrogant Bastard’ myself . .

Oh yeah, Matthew’s bro’s name is ‘Rooster’ - so you see where they get it!

Little Bud (let’s just call him that until we know) was born at 6:22 PM in Los Angeles and weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz.

This is the first child for both.

Matthew McConaughey’s gorgeous pregnant girlfriend, Camila Alves, seems to share his lackadaisical approach to personal hygiene. McConaughey is known for going au natural and has not worn deodorant in 20 years. He told Playboy magazine that he refused to put on a rock crystal deodorant that his costar Kate Hudson tried to get him to wear while they were filming Fool’s Gold.

Now In Touch is reporting that part of the reason that Matthew loves his pregnant girlfriend, Bralizian model Camila, is because she can also go without a shower for a week. Lest you think they’re making that up, it’s an actual quote from one of Camila’s business associates on her new handmade leather purse line:

“He said he finally met a girl who can go without a shower for a week - someone he can go mountain climbing and hiking with,” Pamela DePalma, president of DePalma Enterprises, which represents Camila’s new venture MUXO handbags tells In Touch. “Camila is incredibly easygoing.”

Camila’s business associate also says that it was McConaughey who first noticed Camila and asked her to have a drink with him.

“He chose her, she didn’t chose him,” she adds. “She was at a restaurant in LA and he walked up to her. He introduced himself, and said he would love to have her come join him for his favorite drink - a margarita - and they had a great friendship to star.”

And In Touch also talked to Camila’s manager, who hinted that a surprise marriage might be in the cards for the stinky sweethearts:

But with the baby due in July, the couple have no been talking about tying the knot. Camila’s manager, Shabi Shahryar, tells In Touch: “You never know. I mean, the pregnancy was a surprise, so why not a surprise marriage?”

McConaughey is excited to be a father and is serving as Camila’s Lamaze coach. He says he’s going to be a hands-on dad and will change diapers. It sounds like their child won’t be forced to take a bath as often as the average kid, and he or she will probably be grateful for that. I know that my son hates getting his hair washed and will do just about anything to avoid it.
