  Heartthrob Johnny Depp, 45, is playing the Mad Hatter in a Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. A photo reportedly of Johnny in costume and makeup has been leaked online. His hair stands out in curly coils from the sides his head and Depp’s face is white with red streaks on his cheeks and around eyes. Talented at playing nearly unrecognizable, eccentric characters, Depp will bring his unique take to the role.

  Alice in Wonderland also stars Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, and Crispin Glover. It will be part Beowulf-type live action CGI and part live footage. Alice is due out in theaters in March, 2010 and given how far away the release date is this seems like a genuine photo leak and not an attempt to drum up publicity for the film. You never know, though.

  Doesn’t it look like Depp has gained a little weight? His cheeks look a little fuller, although it could be the makeup. Like some of the advance photos of Heath Ledger as the Joker that came out ahead of The Dark Knight, there’s always the possibility that someone cooked this up in Photoshop.

  Here is a first look at what appears to be Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, in Tim Burton’s adaption (written by Linda Woolverton) of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Depp who recently played as Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd and Captain Jack, must be spending hours in the make-up room again. Based on previous projects one shouldn’t be surprised to see Burton and Depp create a very bizarre twist to the classic story penned  by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. The film will combine performance-capture imagery, currently seen in Beowulf, with live-action footage. Depp’s co-stars include Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas, Crispin Glover, Stephen Fry and Alan Rickman. Expect ‘Alice’ in theaters on March 5, 2010.

  Here ya’ go kids, your first sneak peek at Johnny Depp and Tim Burton’s interpretation of ‘The Mad Hatter’. I normally heart all Burton/Depp collaborations and to date I have adored every one of Johnny D.’s characters…even that creepy Willa Wonka. But I’m a bit disappointed with this one…..Am I the only one that thinks it skews a little too ‘Edward Scissorhands‘ and not enough ‘Mad Hatter‘.

  Frankly, I expected something much more reminiscent of a bad acid trip, didn’t you? Johnny will be starring in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland along side co-stars Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter (natch), Michael Sheen, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas, Crispin Glover, Steven Fry and Alan Rickman.

  The movie will combine performance-capture imagery (like in Beowulf) with live-action footage and should hit theaters in March 2010.

  Vanessa Paradis talks about her relationship with Johnny Depp

  Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp have generally been pretty quiet about their ten-year-old relationship. They live a pretty quiet life in France with their two children; Lily, 9 and Jack, 6. For some reason Paradis has given an interview with Elle – very out of character for the private singer/actress/ model. Celebitchy thinks she must be promoting her next album.

  Paradis talks about why she and Depp haven’t gotten married yet, how they met, and says that their relationship works because they are good for each other.

  “Each summer people say we’re supposed to be getting married, but we don’t talk about it that much,” Paradis – Depp’s girlfriend of 10 years and the mother of his two children – tells the U.K. edition of Elle in its November issue. “He’s got me, and he knows he’s got me.” Adds Paradis, 35: “I love the romance of ‘let’s get married,’ but then, when you have it so perfect … I mean, I’m more married than anybody can be – we have two kids [Jack, 6, and Lily Rose, 9]. Maybe one day, but it’s something I can really do without.”

  When French singer-actress-model first met Depp, it was not quite love at first sight.

  “We were in two different worlds – him in America, me in France – but we had friends in common,” explains the current face of Miu Miu. “We saw each other sometimes over the course of four years. But then, the day we found each other in Paris, we were both in the same world and free and it was just instant. There was no more time to waste – just no way around it.”

  Asked if she’s “tamed” the Pirates of the Caribbean star, whose previous girlfriends include Kate Moss and Winona Ryder, Paradis says: “Tamed. What’s that? Like a lion? Noooo, no, we did it to each other. Maybe I’m a good girlfriend because I’m his girlfriend. I’m not sure I’d be a good girlfriend to anyone else; the same for him. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s something that’s natural, obvious and beautiful.”

  Paradis also notes that Johnny is “very charming” and understands why women the world over have a crush on him. These two have always been so cute together, and it seems like it’s pretty clear they’re together for the long haul, whether they formalize it or not. They seem to have a very close bond and have figured out how to balance fame with living a happy, close, quiet life.

  Tim Burton may take on directing Pirates of the Caribbean 4

  Johnny Depp is reason enough for many people to look forward to a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  He’s classic as Captain Jack Sparrow and men, women and children will sit through a barely adequate script just to watch Depp become the charismatic pirate.  Now rumor has it there may be two more reasons to anticipate the upcoming Pirates movie.  Jack may have a brother, and Tim Burton may be directing!

  Our proven informant (who we’re forced to keep anonymous) wants you to know the following info should be taken with a “grain of salt and a dose of pepper,” things are still in motion, but here goes anyway. Wondering how they’re going to make a whole Pirates movie with just Jack Sparrow? Or who else might return? Read on!

  Most excitingly, there are talks of Captain Jack having a brother in the next movie, possibly to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen (perfect!) or Russell Brand (even more perfect!) Of course, that’s probably just fantasy casting, but why would either of those comedians turn the role down? As we’ve mentioned before, the new movie might kick off a trilogy, which would revolve around Captain Jack’s search for the Fountain of Youth.

  Geoffrey Rush and director Gore Verbinski are apparently both planning to return, but… and this is a big maybe… Tim Burton might direct instead. Tim Burton! If there is a single director who could make people excited for a fourth Pirates movie, it has to be Burton.

  Russell Brand and Johnny Depp could be magic.  They have a general resemblance, especially with the eye makeup.  They’re both fearless and could certainly dial up the comedy playing off each other.  My personal preference would definitely be Brand over Sacha Baron Cohen.  It goes without saying that Geoffrey Rush is essential to any sequel, but it might be time for Verbinski to consider other projects and let new blood take over the Pirates franchise.  I think most people agree that the movies’ magnetic charm has weakened as the series has progressed.

  Depp and Burton have proven time and time again how well they work together.  Tim Burton is a prolific hit movie maker and has capably handled everything from stop-motion animation to musicals.  He brings a depth of color and scenery to his movies that would serve him well in a Pirates movie, too.  If anyone could make a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie truely interesting again, beyond Depp and Rush, it’s Burton.

  Johnny Depp has agreed to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for a fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. His salary? $56 million. As in dollars. $56 million dollars. The sum eclipses Tom Hanks’ record payday 0f $50 million for Sony’s Da Vinci Code prequel, Angels & Demons. A source told the Daily Mail:

  Disney recently announced that Johnny Depp will be returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 4: The World’s Most Unnecessary Sequel. This caused a lot of comment that the third instalment of the series wasn’t very good, and that he should be moving forward, and is selling out. Everyone has their price – is yours more than $56 million?

  Johnny Depp has struck gold by landing £32million ($US56million) for a fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean adventure.

  The bumper cheque is the highest up front pay-out in movie history.

  It smashes the £29m ($US51million) paid to Tom Hanks, 52, for the Da Vinci Code follow-up Angels & Demons, out next May.

  And it means Depp will leapfrog Will Smith into top spot on Hollywood’s rich list when he reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

  A movie insider said: “It’s a hell of a lot of swag for one movie but there’s only one man who can play Captain Jack Sparrow – and that’s Johnny Depp.

  “Pirates just wouldn’t be the same without him, so they were more than willing to smash the record books to land Depp again.

  “He’s been the star of the show every time.”

  Johnny Depp deserves to be one of Hollywood’s highest paid, I’ll go see anything with him in it, and although I’m sure I’ve seen Pirates 3 and have absolutely no recollection of it. While the salary reports surfaced in the sometimes unreliable British tabloids, I’d have to say that the figure is not unfeasable. There is no movie without Captain Jack!

  I also can’t believe that the prequel to The Da Vinci Code is being made, considering how awful this was, and that Tom Hanks is being paid $51 million. The Dan Brown books are just too complex to translate well to the big screen, and I’d have to say that Tom Hanks was too old for the first film, let alone a prequel! Then again, if Harrison Ford can play Indiana Jones in his 60s, I guess Tom Hanks can play a university professor at any age. My mental image from reading the books was of a man about ten years younger than Hanks though.

  The highest paid actor ever is, a little surprisingly, Keanu Reeves, who reportedly made $200+ million for his role in The Matrix, based on a merchandise ands sales agreement. Many stars make money from these kinds of deals, and take a lower salary than they might be worth. HollywoodToday.net has a breakdown of how this works, and suggests that Johnny has made almost $150 million from the previous three Pirates films using this system.

  Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley have both indicated they’d like to move away from the series, but if Disney thinks the films, which grossed around $3 billion at the box office, have more life in them, I wonder what their price is? And will Disney be willing to pay it? It’s an awful lot fo buried treasure (I couldn’t resist a little pirate reference).

  Johnny Depp has supposedly begged fellow actor Matt Lucas for a role in the Little Britain movie  after loving the debut of the American series. A quick background first. The first episode of Little Britain USA on BBC1 pulled in five million viewers. Little Britain USA is an American spinoff of the successful British BBC television series Little Britain. As in the British series, the show will mainly focus on characters played by Matt Lucas and David Walliams and features many established characters such as Daffyd Thomas, Sebastian Love, Marjorie Dawes and Vicky Pollard but will also include new ones; According to the makers, Little Britain USA “…is effectively series four…” of the BBC instalment. The new series was first shown on HBO and in Canada on The Movie Network on September 28 2008, at 10.30pm EST, then was shown on BBC One on October 3 2008 in the UK.

  So Little Britain star Lucas and Depp are now filming Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland in Los Angeles and have struck up a friendship. Lucas is playing Tweedledum and Tweedledee opposite Depp’s Mad Hatter - said of plans for a Little Britain film: “We thought it would be interesting to make a movie where we play lots of characters.”

  A movie insider said: “Johnny was laying it on thick saying how much he enjoyed the first episode of the series. He said he would do anything to have a part in the movie.”

  Depp is a fan of UK comedy and has already made a cameo appearance in The Fast Show.

  Disney announces ‘boatload’ of new projects: Johnny Depp to star in 3 features!!

  Disney Studios unveiled a boatload of new projects at a media showcase at the Kodak Theater on Wednesday.

  The Mickey Mouse empire had many exciting announcements but the big star, however, was Johnny Depp, who has proved to be Disney’s golden boy in the Pirates of the Carribean franchise that brought in a combined $2.6 billion at the box office.

  And staying with a good thing, Johnny is coming back for a fourth Pirates installment. It was also announced Depp will also be playing Tonto in a film adaptation of The Lone Ranger, another Jerry Bruckheimer production (he did all the Pirate installments as well).

  And, to top ‘hat’ it off, Depp is also set to star as the Mad Hatter working with in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, a role that should suit him to a ‘T’!

  Walt Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook also announced a major slate of upcoming 3-D animation films, a format the Mouse House has competitively dedicated itself to.  The sequel to Cars is being moved up a year to the summer of 2011, to coincide with a new attraction at the California Adventure theme park in Anaheim. In addition to shifting the date for “Cars 2,” studio also announced that it will produce a series of animated short films starring Mater and other characters from the first feature. Shorts will air on TV, including the Disney Channel, and in theaters in front of films.

  Then there is a new cartoon called Bolt that was previewed, and in the more traditional animation vein, it was announced that Oprah Winfrey will be voicing a character in The Princess and the Frog.

  In all Disney has five live-action and animated pics set to unspool in 3-D next year, and a slate of 16 in development.

  Besides the impressive clip reel of all of Disney’s future releases, the event also featured the cast of High School Musical, Dwayne Johnson, Miley Cyrus, John Travolta, Robin Williams, and a recorded appearance from Adam Sandler.

  The cast for the next Tim Burton movie, a 3-D live-action/CGI animated version of Alice In Wonderland, was announced today and in keeping with the perfect movie partnership they discovered 18 years ago, Johnny Depp will be playing the Mad Hatter. 

  If any story for a movie is appropriate to be filmed in 3-D, it would be Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.  The live-action/CGI is the method used in the recent Angelina Jolie movie Beowulf and it’s a good combination of animation and live acting for the fantasy and allegory of the classic “children’s” book.  Disney is still the distributor, but you can bet with Burton at the helm, it won’t be your mother’s Alice!

  Depp and Burton have been one of the best pairings in popular cinema since they teamed up for Edward Scissorhands in 1990.  Ed Wood, in ‘94, was the beginning of crazy, Depp brilliance, it just wasn’t quite appreciated yet and flopped at the box office.  Burton’s darkness and Depp’s quirky intesity played perfectly together in Sleepy Hollow, breathing new life and interest into a much played story.  And while Depp’s Willie Wonka was a little creepy, Burton’s dark but colorful rendering of his Chocolate Factory was captivating.  Sweeney Todd was just genius, from both of them.  Even Corpse Bride was intriguing and fun to look at, whether you’re into animated films or not.

  It pretty much went without saying when Burton signed on for this project that Depp would take the Mad Hatter role, but now it’s official.  Also official is Mia Wasikowska, a Heath Ledger memorial scholarship recipient for up and coming Australian actors, as Alice, and Matt Lucas, of Little Britain and Little Britain USA, doing double as Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

  Alice in Wonderland is currently in pre-production and is scheduled for release in March 2010.

  Johnny Depp returned to his old stomping grounds this weekend, reuniting with his old band The Kids for a fundraiser in Pompano Beach, Florida. The Kids played in South Florida clubs during the 1980s. Depp joined The Kids when he was a high school student in Miramar, Florida, and moved to Los Angeles with them in search of a record deal. After the band broke up, Depp decided to pursue a career in acting.

  On Friday With his girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, and their 9-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, screaming in the crowd of 2,500, the 45-year-old actor looked at ease strapping on a guitar and singing backup vocals during the power-pop group’s 90-minute set.

  The second annual Sheila Witkin Memorial Reunion Concert honors The Kids’ late manager who passed away in 2006 at age 66, and was well-known in South Florida’s music scene. All proceeds from the benefit go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs. The band also reunited in January 2007 for the same cause.

  Johnny and The Kids are scheduled to rock out again tonight on day two of the benefit.

  Cher ‘to play Catwoman’ in next Batman film??

  I got to say, as far as rumors go I don’t think people are trying very hard anymore.  The Dark Knight, has become the most successful of the Batman movies. Warner Bros expects the film to make about $530m and speculation has been crazy about who would take a turn as the next villain. Rumors were recently flying that Angelina Jolie was interested in pouring into Catwoman’s tights. But the Daily Telegraph claims Cher who is 62-year-old is in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third Batman film from British director Christopher Nolan.

  They further claim she will join a cast that includes Johnny Depp as The Riddler as she plays the whip-carrying burglar. The character has been played previously by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

  Supposedly a studio executive said: “Cher is Nolan’s first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years.

  “The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry’s purring creations.”

  Cher kind of has the Catwoman look even without the costume and is an award winning actress, but would they dare to make such a huge departure in the character? Filming of the new Batman, working title ‘The Caped Crusader’, is due to begin in Vancouver early next year.

  Kate Moss says that her most memorable kiss was with non other than Frank Sinatra. The then young supermodel was just 21 when the extraordinary event took place in 1995 at the singer’s star-studded 80th birthday party in Hollywood. Kate was escorted to the party by her then boyfriend, actor Johnny Depp (talk about name dropping). Despite Depp’s presence Kate reveals in a new interview how Sinatra out flanked him.

  ‘There was still a twinkle in his blue eyes. Yeah, major,’ she says. I was sitting down having a cigarette, and he spotted me and made a beeline to me. He got all of his security to close in so Johnny couldn’t get to me. So we were encircled and he’s like, “How are you doing, little lady?   Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law who took over the role that Heath Ledger played when he died, have given the money they earned from The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassu to his daughter Matilda Rose according to what the director told The Sun!

  Director Terry Gilliam, 67, said: “They didn’t take money — it goes to Heath’s daughter.

  “That’s extraordinary! And wonderful . . . and when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people.’

  "And we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help.”

  When the three heard that Heath did not have a will that protected her, they took it among themselves to help her. I think it so admirable what the fathers did for another kid. Just for that I will go see this movie to support those who support others.

  Tim Burton has teamed up with Disney to do an over-the-top update of Alice in Wonderland.

  The big-budget production is being financed by Disney, and will be shot in 3-D. Filming will start next year, with release slated for 2010. Unknown Australian actress Mia Wasikowska has won the title role, although no other roles have had casting confirmed.

  But our sources tell us there is nobody else that Tim Burton would allow to play The Mad Hatter besides his movie-making BFF Johnny Depp. Natch.

  Johnny Depp thrilled a young fan by keeping his promise to send the boy his hat. Playing 1930’s bank robber John Dillinger – American’s Most Wanted at the time – for his upcoming movie Public Enemies, Depp was shooting on location in Wisconsin in April when he was observed on the set by local 12-year-old boy Jack Taylor, who especially liked Depp/Dillinger’s hat.

  Depp then promised he would send the tan and grey headwear to him once filming had finished, and Jack was amazed when Depp made good on his promise and the hat arrived in the post.

  The hat was posted along with gifts for Taylor’s four siblings said to be promotional items from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, in which Depp played eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.

  The package arrived with a note signed by Depp which read: “Here is a hat for you. Hope you like this and assorted fun bits.”

  Now Taylor is at work on a thank-you note with a little help from his parents.

  I’m nearly certain that Johnny Depp really is one of the nicest celebrities out there. After his daughter Lily-Rose nearly died from E.coli blood poisoning last year, Depp didn’t just do the easy (yet still amazing) thing of donating money to the hospital as a thank you. Though he did give $2 million, he also did something far less common for someone with a great deal of money – he gave his time. Depp had his Pirates Of The Caribbean costume flown to London from Los Angeles and spent an afternoon visiting the children at the hospital wearing the costume.

  Again proving his kindness and follow-through, Johnny sent a 12-year old boy his hat. He promised it to the boy after he met Depp while he was filming “Public Enemies” in Oshkosh, Wisconsin this past April. And he sent things for his four brothers and sisters, too.

  The next time Jack Taylor takes his hat off to Johnny Depp, it actually will be Depp’s hat The 12-year-old southside resident received a package in the mail Thursday from Depp’s production company, Infinitum Nihil, containing a variety of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” promotional gifts along with a vintage fedora Depp told Taylor he could have when the “Public Enemies” star was in town in April for filming.

  “All I really said was ‘Can I have your hat?’,” Taylor, who will start seventh grade at Grace Lutheran Church this fall, said. “And he said ‘When I’m done with it, it’s yours.’ He was actually pretty cool.”

  Depp’s agent pulled enough merchandise to ensure Taylor and his siblings… each got a little something from what ranks as one of their favorite Depp movies along with “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

  “It’s not exactly the easiest thing to make all five kids happy, but they did a good job. It’s finally nice to see a celebrity being nice and following through on his promises,” [mom] Kris Brand said. “He promised Jack his hat and he followed through. It’s really cool.” Jack’s new hat, a well-worn fedora that’s vintage in appearance, wasn’t the only personal item enclosed with the package. Depp also wrote Jack a short, personal note telling him to enjoy the hat and the cool “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” stuff and signed it himself.

  Like we couldn’t love Johnny Depp more. I don’t think I’ve heard anything less than good about the man in at least the last ten years. He also saved a group of extras from getting run over by a car while filming Public Enemies. Johnny behaves like all those Tom Cruise urban legends you used to hear about (Tom Cruise rescues a bunch of drowning orphans on his jet ski; Tom Cruise saves a woman on a runaway horse, etc) except that Johnny Depp actually does the awesome things, instead of paying his PR rep to spread good rumors.

  Tensions are running high in Johnny Depp’s relationship with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. Depp is currently filming Public Enemies with French actress Marion Cotillard, and according to many onset snoops, the chemistry between the two is more than palpable. Paradis is said to be quite jealous – and has good reason to be.

  But industry insiders say French singer and actress Vanessa, 35, doesn’t like the way Johnny is warming up to 32-year-old Marion, who recently won an Oscar for her portrayal of French chanteuse Edith Piaf in “La Vie en Rose.”

  “Vanessa is jealous over Marion. The chemistry between her and Johnny is blatantly evident to everyone,” revealed an insider. “Marion is very flirty with guys she likes - and she adores Johnny! She frequently gives him a hug and a peck on the cheek before they start filming - and I never see him push her away. Vanessa has always trusted Johnny, but she feels as if Marion is a crossing dangerous boundary by being so affectionate.”

  Cotillard is quite the notorious man stealer. In 2003 she had an affair with French actor Guillaume Canet, her leading man in the film “Love Me if You Dare.” Canet was married to actress Diane Kruger at the time. So Vanessa Paradis has reason to worry – probably not about Johnny, but Marion certainly doesn’t have a great track record in that regard.

  Meanwhile, Vanessa’s jealousy threatens her rock-solid relationship with Johnny, who’s always had a reputation for being faithful. They’ve been together for 10 years and have two beautiful children - daughter Lily-Rose, 9, and Jack, 6.

  “Vanessa and Johnny are still very much in love,” the source pointed out. “In fact, there’s been talk about them finally tying the knot this summer.

  “Vanessa has been keeping close tabs on Johnny and they’ve even bickered over how much extra attention her gives to Marion between scenes. But Johnny has assured Vanessa that he only has eyes for her - and she has no need to worry.”

  Johnny Depp seems to be a pretty stand up guy. You never hear anything about him that isn’t good anymore. He certainly had has wild oat sewing days, but by all accounts he’s been nothing but committed to Vanessa for the ten years they’ve been together.

  When their daughter Lily-Rose almost died from an infection last year, the two were said to grow even closer, and supposedly that’s when the really started contemplating marriage. I understand that when you’re with a famous, sexy actor you’re going to be a little nervous. Especially around an actress who has a reputation for man stealing. But it seems like if there’s any guy Vanessa should trust, it’s Johnny.

  Johnny Depp is set to marry his girlfriend Vanessa Paradis (above), according to Life & Style magazine. The couple have been dating for ten years and have two children together. A friend told the mag:

  “Vanessa recently told Johnny that she would love to have a wedding. Johnny loves Vanessa very much, and he said if that’s what would make her happy, then he’d marry her. [Johnny and Vanessa’s children] are really excited about it. Actually the whole family is excited. They wanted to make i n convenient for Johnny’s family in Florida so the nuptials will likely take place in Georgia’s Tybee Island. They’re going to send out invitations in a few weeks.” (Source)

  Johnny Depp and long time partner Vanessa Paradis will reportedly marry on June 14th. The two have been together 10 years and have two children. Vanessa has supposedly told Johnny that she’s ready to make it legal.

  Life & Style claims the wedding will take place in Georgia, so most of Johnny’s family can easily attend.

  A Source said, “They wanted to make it convenient for Johnny’s family in Florida, so the wedding will likely take place in Georgia’s Tybee Island. They’re going to send out invitations in a few weeks.”

  Depp who was married once before in the 80’s, has previously said of his relationship with Vanessa, “For all intents and purposes, we are married,” adding that, “if [Vanessa] ever said, ‘Hey, let’s get hitched,’ I would do it in a second.”

  Perhaps that time has come.

  Johnny Depp recently saved some extras from being hit by a runaway stunt car on the set of his latest flick, Public Enemies. Of course he did. He's just a good guy. He also talks to coma victims!

  A stuntman driving a 1933 Ford skidded on some ice and was about to plow into six extras standing to the side when Depp made like the Flash and intervened. The extras had their back to the car and were unaware of the impending doom. Depp quickly rolled up and herded everyone to safety. He also probably then cured them of their arthritis and painlessly spayed their pets for them. He's everything to everyone!

  Here's Johnny Depp on the set of Public Enemies. Depp is playing famed gangster John Dillinger in the next epic crime saga directed by Michael Mann.

  The film also stars Oscar-winning Frenchwoman and 9/11 conspiracy theorist Marion Cotillard, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff and Christian Bale. Bale plays Melvin Purvis, Dillinger's arch enemy. This sounds like it's going to be hot. I know the one scene in Mann's Heat where De Niro and Pacino met in the coffee shop was a letdown but the rest of it was boss.

  it's just so refreshing to see Depp look like a human being and not a gay pirate, chocolate factory poofter, or serial-killing barber. He needed a break from Tim Burton's mindspace.

  You can bet the peeps over at the London Children’s Medical Center were pumped when they saw a $2 million check roll across their desk with Johnny Depp’s signature on it.

  It turns out that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was so grateful to the facility and its staff for healing his daughter, he decided to give back. He also got Disney to pledge $20 million toward the facility’s various renovation projects.

  That shy grin of his kills me almost as much as reading that Johnny Depp recently donated almost $2 million to the hospital, where his daughter Lily-Rose was treated last year for kidney failure. Disney, the studio behind the wildly successful trilogy starring Johnny, "The Pirates of the Caribbean," more than matched Depp's efforts by donating about $20 million dollars to the children's medical center.

  As a token of his gratitude, Depp made the donation, and gave out invites to the London premiere of his film, "Sweeney Todd," to the medical staff. In addition, he also donned his Captain Jack Sparrow costume to read stories to patients last week. I wonder how much it would take to get home to show up to my house in that outfit and...read to me.
