  Hollywood Storms Washington D.C.

  The big ole' annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner was held last night, and a perfect example of how Hollywood has way too much influence on our country. Because it looked like a night out Villa. Well, would you rather look at Karl Rove or wonder if that's really a baby bump (ugh) on Ashlee Simpson?

  In attendance were Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz, Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt (I guess they found the airfare?), Pam Anderson, the Jonas Brothers, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Marcia Cross and Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick among other celebrities.

  President Bush and Late Late Show Craig Ferguson spoke, and Dubya made lame jokes. Heid Montage and Spencer Pratt? The Jonas Brothers? Politics are glamorous!

  Rumer Willis Dons A Wig And Goes To The Premiere

  Here's Rumer Willis at the premiere of her new film From Within. She stars as "Natalie" in some horror movie mess. Rumer spoke about the film and how people have the wrong impression of her. Oh?

  "There's a definite sense of shock at who I actually am," Rumer says. "People's perceptions of me are, a little bit [skewed] because of who I am."

  Rumer says she intends on proving herself as an actress. This chick is the little engine that could. She was recently linked to Gossip Girl himbo Chace Crawford and bless her heart, because she really snagged one above her pay grade.

  Celebrities Invoking Specific Era Of Diana Ross

  Seriously. Leighton Meester and that Rachel Zoe seahag are dressed like Diana Ross at the exact moment she axed the Supremes and took her ass to "MISS Ross" territory. It's the latest thing. Leighton can pull it off because she looks flawless in the face. Zoe better hope that the garden she's wearing is enough to distract from the decrepit. Here's celebs working the red carpet at the New Yorkers for Children (?!?) event. Zac Posen needs to be unwrapped, but he could seriously wear a burqa at this point and I'd be into it. He's a cherub. Someone tell Kim Raver that the pendant she's wearing is going to backfire and alert everyone to the exact moment her nipple comes out to say hi and have a martini.

  The CMT Awards!

  The CMT Awards were held last night. Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray hosted. American Idol is still informing us what the next big thing in country is, as child abused Kellie Pickler won awards for Breakthrough Video of the Year, Tearjerker of the Year and Best Performance. They seriously have Tearjerker of the Year?

  Taylor Swift was the other big winner of the evening, scoring Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year wins for her ditty "Our Song."

  "I wrote that song in the 9th grade for a talent show," Swift said in her acceptance speech. "I never thought it would be on an album, never thought I'd record it, never thought it would be a single, never thought it would be No. 1 and certainly never thought it would win video and female video of the year."

  She's basically saying all you old bitches are lame seeing as she won for a song she wrote before she was even menstruating.

  Carrie Underwood went home with nothing. Good, that will teach her. American Idol needs to stop foisting people on us. Billy Ray looks like a lesbian drag king, and he's complimented by LeAnn Rimes who looks draggish, to say the least. Faith Hill and her previously hot husband are slowly turning into that old couple who needs to relinquish the crown. She looks matronly. Why is Siquo there? Is he hustling? Is that Marcia Brady I see? And Nicole Kidman's face hasn't slid off yet from lack of Botox. That's seriously all this blogger has to say about country music. Thank you, goodnight!

  Nicole Richie And Her Dad Celebrate Pop Music

  Where's your baby? Nicole Richie, her dad Lionel, Justin Timberlake, and Fergie were among some of the celebrities who attended the 25th Annual Pop Music Awards sponsored by ASCAP. ASCAP collects public-performance royalties for its member songwriters and copyright owners. Get that paper, oldies!

  Lionel and Steve Miller of "Fly Like An Eagle", "Abracadabra", and every unimaginative musically inclined frat boy you ever met fame received Golden Note lifetime achievement awards for all their years in the biz.

  "I never saw myself receiving any awards or doing anything," Steve Miller, 64, said during his acceptance speech. Miller took to the stage and performed six songs. SIX SONGS? Did these people know they were in for a Steve Miller show at the Kodak Theatre? It must have reeked of weed. Were people playing hackey sack and drinking Keystone in between bong hits?

  Timbaland took the award for Songwriter of the Year, and Fergie and Gwen Stefani tied for the Song of the Year awards with "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "The Sweet Escape." Who voted for THAT song? If there was one pop song last year that could inspire a hack-n-slash, it was that one.

  Lionel didn't perform, but he did scream at Nicole to go home and actually hang out with his grandchild. Ok, he didn't but he should have! Da Brat obviously isn't watching the kid like she was paid $20 to if she showed up! You know she's had to resort to that ever since she and Missy Elliot broke up years ago.

  Rainn Wilson: “I Have A Gun Rack In My Prius.”

  Rainn Wilson, one of the stars of NBC’s hit The Office, has been chosen to host the 2008 Film Independent Spirit Awards on February 23rd. The event is one of the few (if any) to have the full backing of the Writers Guild of America — which has brought the entertainment industry to a near stand still as a result of the ongoing strike. With that endorsement, the Spirit Awards have permission to hire WGA writers for the program. From the article,

  “In a press release, Wilson expressed his joy at being chosen and commented on what he could offer the show. ‘It is truly an honor to be asked to host an awards show that salutes the cutting edge in cinema. I like to think that I bring a bit of an ‘independent spirit’ to the proceedings as I recently installed a gun rack in my Prius,’ Wilson said.”

  The Spirit Awards will also have a bit of an “eco” edge. In addition to in-home streaming of films and voting online, additional efforts include the use of bio-diesel fueled generators and the recycling of numerous items including all food scraps, AstroTurf, wood, and plastic. The organizers will also offer a “ride share” option for those planning to attend the awards — and, of course, all organically grown produce purchased from local farms within a 150 mile radius of Los Angeles for the catering.

  Gorgeous and Glamorously Green in San Francisco

  Once again Global Green and the ecofabulous Zem Zoquin and Nadine Weil hosted San Francisco’s most glamorous green event, Gorgeous & Green, attended by some of Hollywood’s most beautiful and eco-conscious. Unlike events of late hosting “Green Hollywood” without heart, this event also had substance. Woven around a presentation of the impactful work Global Green is doing across the country, we heard from Stephen Jenkins (looking sexier than ever) talking passionately about politics and his latest efforts to further green his biodiesel tour bus and the equally hunky Jason Lewis sharing with us that he only buys green and organic products and is always looking for ways further green his life.

  Both Stephen and Jason lambasted critics who say that the rocking green movement and continuing involvement by Hollywood’s A-list is a passing fad. Jason, says “That’s just stupid. With increasing awareness and more opportunities as individuals to live more sustainably without sacrifice, there is no going back. Stephen says “those critics will some day soon be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. For the true leaders,”—like his favorite presidential candidate, Barack Obama—”instead of being fearful of change, rather see opportunities, especially in industries like Clean Tech and greening our lives and businesses”.

  The main event was an inspiring and sustainable catwalk lead by the gorgeous and green, Josie Maran. Josie shared how she was inspired to create her pure luxury cosmetic line. “I spent long hours in make-up chairs and when I was made aware of the amount of toxins in cosmetics, I was horrified.” Josie Maran’s cosmetic line and other fine organic beauty lines adored by Hollywood, such as Duchess Marden and Jane Iredele, were distributed to the who’s who crowd of SF A-listers and eco leaders in the regal, yet LEED certified, Bently Reserve.

  The fashion show featured fantastic looks from luxury green designers Behar Shapar, Del Forte Jeans, Lara Miller and Linda Loudermilk, among others.

  Other celebrity guests in attendance included Jason Behr, Michelle Branch and Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco.

  Charity: Water Hosts A Star-Studded NYC Gala

  Ok, first I just want to get this out of the way: I DO NOT WORK FOR ADRIAN GRENIER!! I know that lately Ecorazzi has seemed more like an Adrian Grenier fan site then an eco-celebrity blog, but the dude keeps doing good deeds. Last night, Charity: Water, an organization that works to provide clean, safe drinking water to countries in need, hosted a huge gala in NYC. And who do you think were the celebrity hosts? None other than Jessica Stam and yes…Adrian Grenier.

  The event was held at The Metropolitan Pavilion and featured live performances by Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues. Also included, was an auction with products supplied by Prada, Kenneth Cole, Diesel, Banana Republic, and many more. Oh yeah, and the cocktails…courtesy of Grey Goose Vodka–thank you very much. Charity: Water wants you to know that “water and lack of basic sanitation causes 80% of all sickness and disease, and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.” And of course, all donations from this fancy schmancy party went directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. The event also featured an exhibit created by the organization’s founder, Scott Harrison along with Metropolitan Events & Production. The exhibit included photographs, video instillations, interactive displays, and soundscapes.

  So Adrian, if your reading this, I really appreciate all this green stuff you’ve doing lately, but people are gonna start spreading rumors, man. Can’t you just drive an SUV, get lots of plastic surgery and flash the camera your naughties like all the other celebrities do…JEEZ!!! Check out our photos below from the event.

  Adrian Grenier Dishes Out Some Hot Chow For The Hungry

  Is Adrian Grenier becoming the Ecorazzi golden boy? It looks like it. Just a few days ago, Ecorazzi reported that Grenier would be going greener by hosting a new show for the Discovery Channel’s upcoming network, Planet Green. Well, it turns out this eco-star has a charitable side too.

  This weekend Grenier took some time out of his busy schedule to head home to Brooklyn and volunteer at the Neighbors Together Soup Kitchen. Grenier made it a family affair by bringing along his mother and uncle to help pitch in. “It isn’t right that millions of families suffer from hunger and worry about getting their next meal. We all need to help in whatever way we can”, Grenier said while dishing out a couple of hot meals.

  Not the first celebrity to roll up his sleeves for the sake of others, Kevin Bacon also participated in a similar event this month and was “shocked to see so many empty shelves in the Food Bank for New York City.”

  Stevie Wonder Signs, Seals And Delivers It For House Full Of Toys Charity Event

  When I grow up I want to be Stevie Wonder-plain and simple. Why you might ask does a 24-year-old half Jewish white kid from Tampa, Florida want to be Stevie Wonder? Cause Stevie is the man…duh.   

  This weekend, Stevie Wonder hosted his annual House Full Of Toys charity event at the Kodak Theater to benefit underprivileged children during the holiday season.  Never short on friends, Stevie invited a slew of well-known, celebrity musicians to stop by and play some tunes.  John Mayer showed up and performed a version of Waiting on the World to Change and also joined in on that Wonder classic, Superstition. John Legend also appeared for a rendition of Ordinary People.  Other singers featured included Danny Carreras and Edwin Hall, and helping with backup vocals was Wonder’s daughter, Aisha Morris.

  Let’s face it: the only thing better than a Stevie Wonder concert is a Stevie Wonder concert benefiting a noble cause. That’s all I called to say…

  Republican Candidates Cast Their Vote On Global Warming

  On Wednesday, Carolyn Washburn, editor of the Des Moines Register and recent debate moderator, asked the current republican candidates for president to raise their hands in response to a question regarding global warming (a.k.a climate change, a.k.a that thing that is melting us). Here were some of the responses:

  Fred Thompson- Hollywood actor turned politician: “I’m not doing hand shows. No hand shows.” 

  John Mccain- Arizona Senator: “It’s real, we’ve got to address it, we can do it with technology, with cap and trade, with capitalist and free enterprise motivation. And I’m confident that we can pass on to our children and grandchildren a cleaner, better world.”

  Rudy Giuliani- Former NYC Mayor and part-time cross-dresser: “Climate change is real. It’s happening. I believe human beings are contributing to it.” 

  Mitt Romney- Former Massachusetts Governor: “It’s going to help our economy because we’re going to invest in new technologies to get ourselves off of foreign oil. And as we get ourselves off of foreign oil, we also dramatically reduce our CO2 emissions.”

  Mike Huckabee- Former Arkansas Governor and weight loss expert: “But climate change and who’s causing it is of less importance…We have done no harm if we take better care of this planet and give it to our children with cleaner air, cleaner soil and cleaner water.”

  A Flock Of Stars Show Up For A Concert Honoring Al Gore

  At a recent event in Oslo, Norway, a goggle of stars came out to perform at a concert honoring Nobel Peace Prize winner, Al Gore, and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The Norwegian event (sounds cold) was hosted by Kevin Spacey and Uma Thurman with performers such as Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox and Melissa Etheridge.

  Thurman explained, “The whole point is to raise awareness and communicate with everyone else in the world and share our concern for the planet.” Meanwhile, Kevin Spacey, the artistic director for London’s Old Vic Theatre, announced that next year they’ll be doing a show called, Go For Green, which is aimed to teach young children how to lead greener lives.

  It’s no secret that celebrities are society’s trendsetters, and I’m always so impressed when I see some of my favorite actors and musicians going beyond the call of duty to stand up for a cause that’s oh so important. Now if you’ll excuse me, this boy is gonna go home and watch Kill Bill for the twenty-third time.

  Planet Green Gets The After-Party Spinning

  While we’ve had our doubts that Discovery Channel’s 24-hour green network might actually get off the ground, the marketing is certainly make us think differently. Slated to launch sometime in June 2008, Discovery Channel is here at Hollywood Goes Green in full force promoting the new channel. Last night’s conference after-party was sponsored by the Planet Green network and creatively aligned the channel’s message with some slick production value.

  

  Taking a cue from Ed Begley Jr.’s bike-toaster, all blended drinks were powered by pedaling Planet Green-uniformed bikers. Yes, it was gimmicky — but it was a creative way to show how much energy these appliances require. In addition to the compostable dining ware, PG also had waste assistance on hand with two ladies stationed at the main trash bins to help people separate their garbage. Composting was high on the priorities — as were sustainable drinks like VeeV and organic wines.

  

  Overall, the green theme was in place — but unfortunately the copious amount of patio heaters, propane fire pits, and inclusion of meat in the catering tainted things a bit. It’s baby steps, folks — and the marketing machine is getting better at recognizing having such things as composting, recycling, and renewable energy front and center. It’s when these things are standard and not theme-centric that green will truly have arrived to the party.

  The Business Of Green Entertainment

  Ecorazzi contributor Melissa Rosenberg and I are in Hollywood this morning getting pumped for the first Hollywood Goes Green conference. The event is a great opportunity for studios, actors, corporations, and media entities to talk about the environmental scene and how their efforts can help push sustainability forward around the world. It’s also –obviously — about changing the way people perceive the industry in terms of “eco-friendliness” and saving some cash through greening initiatives.

  So, we’ll be talking about the biz — while also digging for some gossip — and seeing where this first-of-its-kind event goes.  Stay tuned! For a list of speakers and topics, check out the schedule here.

  Robin Leach Says “Yee-Haw” For The Sake Of Charity

  What do you get when you cross Robin Leach with a rodeo star, a country singer and the city of Las Vegas? If you guessed a topless, British redneck on a mechanical bull (which was my first guess) you’d be wrong. In fact, the real answer is: a pretty snazzy night of cards, all in the name of charity. Robin Leach, the one hit wonder from Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous, will be serving as Master Of Ceremonies for the T.J. Martell Foundation’s first annual Celebrity Poker Tournament on December 11th, at the Las Vegas Hilton. The T.J Martell Foundation helps to supports leukemia, cancer, and AIDS research and supports eight of the top research hospitals in the United States.

  The poker event will take place during National Finals Rodeo Week and will start off with the No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament which requires a 500 dollar buy in. Some of the country and rodeo celebrities planning on attending are, Luke Bryan, Charley Pride, Britt Bockius, Tracy Byrd and Justin McBride.

  Now listen here bloggers! Before you get all hot and bothered about this rodeo thing, realize that this vegan boy is in no way condoning the “sport.” However, I do think it’s grand that some of our little buckaroos down south are putting their milk money with their mouth is for the sake of a really good cause.   Gardner, Panettiere Hook Up With The Weather Channel

  Hayden Panettiere is in Washington, DC this week speaking at the Forecast Earth Summit by The Weather Channel”. The activist/actress will present on her involvement with the organization Save The Whales and the Declare Yourself to vote initiative. From JustJared,

  “Created by The Weather Channel, the Forecast Earth Summit will focus on environmental education and provide interaction with numerous environmental leaders, enthusiasts and scientists. The Weather Channel recently announced the group of 22 high school “eco-ambassadors” selected through a nationwide essay contest to showcase their passion for helping the environment. The 22 winning students, representing 14 states, will participate in the upcoming Forecast Earth Summit.”

  Joining Panettiere will be Guster singer — and creator of Reverb — Adam Gardner. The rock star will talk about his involvement on greening more than 650 concert events and 45 major tours. The summit starts today and will run through Sunday.

  Kathy Griffin and Jesse Eisenberg Are Among The New Radicals Says Radar Magazine

  Radar magazine hosted the first annual New Radicals Awards on December 4th, honoring the most unique in pop culture. The New Radical Awards celebrates the achievements of those “other” stars that maybe aren’t on the cover of Vogue or even well known in every household, but have something to say.

  The New Radicals included actress/comedian Kathy Griffin (”My Life on the D-list”), musician Spankrock (aka Naeem Juwan), actor Jesse Eisenberg(”The Squid and the Whale”), actress Candis Cayne (ABC’s “Dirty, Sexy Money”), actress/comedian Kristen Schaal (HBO’s “Flight of the Concords”), director Craig Brewer (”Hustle & Flow” and “Maggie Lynn”), author Shalom Auslander (”Foreskin’s Lament”), producers World of Wonder - Fenton Bailey and Randy Borbato (”The Eyes of Tammy Faye”).

  And this wasn’t just all fun and games, both the gala and silent auction benefited the International Fund For Animal Welfare. When Radar’s Editor-In-Chief, Maer Roshan, was asked why the International Fund For Animal Welfare was chosen, he said, “As the world’s leading animal welfare group, they’ve been instrumental in changing the way we view animals. When it was founded 40 years ago, the idea that pets and people might have common interests was nuts. Today, Leona Helmsley’s dog, Trouble, has $12 million and his own chauffeur.” Muscian, Spankrock added, “I appreciate all life, so hopefully we can continue to preserve all wildlife. Anyway we can preserve our natural resources means a lot to me.”

  Well, I’m impressed. Radar, in the spirit of honoring others, I hope you will accept the Parrish Kick-Ass Award for doing something a little different and keeping it real in the name of Mama Earth!

  The Osbournes: From Reality To Charity

  You know what they say, “Every dollar makes a difference.” Well, we can all thank the Osbournes for making 800,000 differences. At a recent auction in Los Angeles, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne parted with some of their most prized possessions for the sake of The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The auction lasted two days and featured such infamous treasures as Ozzy’s famous wire rimed glasses ($5,250), an embroidered bat coat ($3,300) and a dog bed given to Sharon by Elton John ($2,375). Too sophisticated for bats? No problemo. They also auctioned off a sculpture by Edouard Drouot ($10,500) and a Gabriel Joseph Marie Augustin Ferrier (are you kidding me here with the name) painting went for $5,312. By the end of the event they had raised $800,000 for the greater good.

  And just when we thought her pockets were empty, Sharon Osbourne gave more. At a separate soiree celebrating Elton John’s AIDS Foundation and the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day (creepy name for a day), Sharon Osbourne hurled a $60,000 diamond ring into the audience just on a whim. The throw and go took place shortly after tossing her red AIDS awareness ribbon into the crowd and then shouting, “Here take the diamond too.” Ok, maybe this wasn’t for a specific charity, but I’m sure she helped whoever got that bling.

  Note to self: If you want the dough’in flowin, keep Sharon Osbourne throwin’.

  Global Green USA Lights Up NYC With Sustainability Awards

  Anchorwoman Katie Couric arrived fashionably late for the red carpet entrance but the host of the Global Green USA’s Designing a Sustainable and Secure World Awards had to first deliver the CBS Evening News to the American public.

  The awards event was held at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park City and was packed with eco-friendly celebs, active environmentalists and green innovators. Speakers included actors Josh Lucas, Josie Maran, playwright Eve Ensler, and the beautiful and talented Glenn Close. Other notable celebs in attendance were comedian Chevy Chase, actress Kyra Sedgewick, CNN contributor Jeff Greenfield, and Matt Peterson, President & CEO, Global Green. Josie Maran, who recently launched a green beauty product line, proudly also announced that her baby wears G Diapers. She shared and interesting green fact that I was unaware of: flying on a red eye gives off more carbon gas than other flights so she tries to avoid doing so.

  New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg excitedly shared the details and video of plans for the city’s first Green School in the Lower Manhattan. Sloan & Roger Barnett, owners or Shaklee Corp. and winners of the Organizational Design Award, explained how they got started. Their son was diagnosed with severe asthma. After extensive digging they discovered no family history of asthma and realized their son must have gotten asthma from the environment. They urged for every school to use natural cleaning products.

  Pratt Industries earned the Industrial Design Award and was accepted by Anthony Pratt, CEO & Chairman. This year’s winner for the Green Building Design Award Media and Entertainment Design Award given to Discovery and accepted by David Zaslav, President & CEO. The Founder Award was given to Scott Seydel, President, EVCO.

  The night included a silent Eco-Auction and contributors included BOSCH, Citizen Watch, Farm 2 Market, EDUN. My personal favorite was the ME & Ro bracelet. During the delicious, organic dinner I had a chance to talk to some attendees and a heard repeated sentiment about the great Brad Pitt. Most agreed he has been doing a stellar job getting people aware, but several people expressed mild disappointment that he did not even mention the name Global Green on the Today show interview yesterday in New Orleans.

  The Fortune Forum Summit Brings Out Hannah, Gore And Many More

  Ever thought about grabbing a brew with Al Gore or playing canasta with Daryl Hannah? Well if you were in London this week you could have (no promise about the canasta) at the second ever Fortune Forum Summit. Never heard of it? Well, the Fortune Forum Summit is basically an event for people who have way more money than you and I will ever see to get together and donate, donate, donate in the name of c-h-a-r-i-t-y. Exactly how much cash must you have to play with the big boys? Well, just to get in the door you would have paid £1,000 and if you’d like to have seen Al Gore in the special V.I.P room, that would have set you back an additional £10,000. By the end of the night it was calculated that the 400 or so guests were worth over £100bn. You get the point.

  Never afraid of big spending, this year a slew of the generous and famous came out to show their support. Some celebrities included: Daryl Hannah, Damien Rice, Jerry Hall and Christian Slater. And who exactly got the loot? The good folks at The British Red Cross, Cancer Research, African Renaissance, Water Aid and clean energy promoters Ice Circle all benefited from the night of fun.

  Now there’s only one question left. Where can I sign up my charity, The Parrish Monthly Room And Board Allowance, for next year’s big show down.

  France Follows NYC And Goes Green This Holiday Season

  French fries. French toast. French Eco-Friendly Christmas? You better believe it!! Paris (not Hilton) just unveiled plans to follow New York City’s lead and bring in the New Year with their own resolution: a greener, more energy efficient holiday season.

  Paris Mayor, Bertrand Delanoe, and French singer and actress, Vanessa Paradis, were on site at the annual lighting of the trees which kicks off the holidays and has been a Paris tradition for 26 years.  However this year marks a new tradition: energy efficient light bulbs.  As you walk the path between the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde you will notice that all one million bulbs are completely energy-efficient. They’ve estimated that it will provide eight times the shine and cut the bill by 70 percent.  As Ecorazzi reported earlier, NYC has also decided to green it up this holiday season with the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center, where celebrities such as Carrie Underwood and Celion Dion performed.

  Celebrities Hit The Green Carpet With Movies Rock

  Is Chevrolet making Hollywood’s elite a little gassy? Looks like it! On December 2nd, the Kodak Theater in L.A will be receiving a eco-facelift as they host the Movies Rock event- a two hour star-studded bonanza celebrating the historic ties between music and film. Why in the world should you care? BECAUSE THEY’RE DOING IT GREEN STYLE BABY!!! Sorry, I get excited! This year, celebrities such as Beyonce, Kate Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Harrison Ford and Charlize Theron will be pulling up in a new line of automobiles that promote Chevy’s recent commitment to a “Gas-Friendly to Gas-Free” initiative.

  Oh, but it gets better…much, much better. Instead of the same old red carpet (boring) entrance with Joan and Melissa Rivers screaming their face off (literally, Joan River’s face is falling off), Movies Rock is taking it to the next level-the green level. Conde Nast Media Group- a powerhouse in publishing and a Movies Rock sponsor- will be making a $25,000 donation to various environmental causes and will provide a 100 percent recycled green carpet (literally, the color green) for all of those fine famous feet to trample upon.

  So in the spirit of Movies Rock I’ll close with that famous line: “I drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee ran dry.” Well if Chevy keeps this up and helps to reduce on global warming, maybe next time that levee won’t be so damn dry. Keep it mean. Keep it clean. Keep it green! The television special will air later next week on CBS.

  Global Green USA, the domestic affiliate for The Green Cross International, is having their 8th Annual “Designing A Sustainable and Secure World Awards”, on December 3rd, 2007 here in lusty, dusty NYC! Bring your appetite and checkbook because this hoedown will feature not only buckets full of classy nosh, but also an eco-auction bound to satisfy the inner Angelina Jolie in all of us. Special guests are rumored to include Kyra Sedgwick, Josh Lucas, Parker Posey and Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

  Big ups to the Global Green USA on their special day for rocking el verde all across the continent, but guys honestly…The Designing A Sustainable And Secure World Awards? Are we serious here? This title doesn’t even leave room for a clever acronym. My advice: ditch the tongue twister and come up with something a little shorter and a lot sweeter. I mean just think of all the ink you’ll save on invitations alone.

  NYC Go Green Expo To Feature Eco Film And Fashion Shows

  This past October, a Green Drinks meeting in NYC was used as a platform to announce a brand new “eco-conference” for the Big Apple next April. Called the Go Green Expo, the inaugural event will take place April 25-27 at the Hilton New York Hotel. With partners such as the NY Post and Newscorp (and sponsors such as your’s truly, Treehugger, and the Nature Conservancy on board), we’re excited to see NYC be the center of attention for the latest in green.

  Beyond the bevy of speakers, companies, and organizations on board to help fill up the conference venue, GGE will also have an eco film festival and fashion show. In addition to promoting the goods, this event will also walk the walk. From The Goode Life,

  Rockefeller Tree to Shine Green

  Mega-stars are beginning to show their holiday spirit: Celine Dion, Josh Groban, country-girl and World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Carrie Underwood, and High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale are revving up their performances for the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will make it’s ‘green’ debut next week.

  Called the “first ever ‘green’ Christmas tree”, this year’s tree at Rockefeller Center will be draped with 30,000 light-emitting diodes- a five-mile strand of starry lights that will not only illuminate New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg believes will “inspire private-sector creativity” and allow the tree’s 500,000 daily visitors to “dream of a ‘green’ Christmas”.

  While the 2007 Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony isn’t until Wednesday, November 28th at 7 p.m., some lucky passersby have already spotted Carrie Underwood and her backup (ice) dancers
