In the ongoing bizarre life of Amy Winehouse, this morning the troubled singer was spotted sporting a new curly hairdo as she stepped out of her North London home to borrow a paparazzo’s mobile phone.
The “Rehab” songstress then disappeared inside for a bit before returning with the phone as well as some slices of toast with cheese as a thank-you gift to the shutterbugs.
We know some opportunistic types have been trying to capitalize on the magnetism of the iconoclastic updo of our favorite she-mav, Sarah Palin. But the true story of that hairstyle's humble beginning will move you.
According to The New York Times, "The ballerina-pink Beehive, in a 1,400-square-foot ranch house, is a cut-and-color shop. A haircut is $30, discounted to $20 if you get the $95 color treatment. In a phone interview, Mrs. Steele, 37, described a kind of “Steel Magnolias” on permafrost, featuring Ms. Palin as a recurring presence."

"With more-established salons throughout the valley, the Beehive would seem a surprising choice for Wasilla’s then-mayor. Mrs. Steele started the salon in 1997 when she, a recently separated mother of two, put a salon chair in her garage and painted the interior Barbie pink.
The two experimented with full bangs, side-swept bangs, clips, curls, twists and blond streaks. "We just kept polishing her look," Mrs. Steele said. "We would try more warm, red and coppery highlights or more of a contrast with pale highlights, not to be severe but just more striking."

The plot synopsis on IMDB is empty for this film, and I couldn’t find any more details about the story. It’s written and directed by Terrence Malick.
It’s being filmed in Smithville, Texas, and The Austin American Statesman notes that Angelina has been seen in the town of Barstrop nearby looking for a chef for her family.
Queen of Hollywood Angelina Jolie has been spotted around Bastrop, according to several credible reports.
The actress has also been polling local chefs for a cook to service the Brangelina crew while her partner, Brad Pitt, is making “The Tree of Life” in nearby Smithville. Filming on the Terrence Malick movie is scheduled to start Monday.

Maybe we know now why Pitt was growing out his hair while cultivating that 70s look for a few weeks. He needed enough on top for his character’s goofy cut. I think he looks better than he did with the floppy hair though.

Ken Paves, the man responsible for the flowing fake locks of Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, and Lindsay Lohan, says that he has test subjects at home to try out his hair extensions, now available to the public through his Hairdo line. Paves claims his three Saluki dogs are perfect for trying out his hair and that they let him know if a piece is not worthy.
“I have three Salukis - Afton, Taj and Honorree,” he tells Life and Style. “The dogs test all my hairdo pieces first. That’s how they make it in the collection. The dogs love to play with the hairpieces and if they ignore one of them, I take it as a sign.”

That makes so much sense. Dogs naturally know what kind of fake hair would best suit b and c-list celebrities. It’s surprising to me that Paves is making this trade secret known. All of his hair extension industry competitors are going to get dogs to try out their wigs and filler hair too.
Paves doesn’t have much to worry about. Simpson and Longoria are fiercely loyal to him, and are frequently seen out at events with him. Hairdresser BFFs can get away with almost anything, including an atrocious style now and then.

Daily Mail published the results of the LoveFilm's poll of the top ten best hairdos in movies and all I have to say is I way disagree with the winners. WTF Princess Leia's buns are number one?
