Jack Black at his “Get Out and Vote ‘08″ concert in Milwaukee (11/2)
Honestly, I could watch this 100 times and 100 times I would giggle like a schoolgirl.

Oscar winning actor Tim Robbins, 49, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. On hand to help him accept the honor were his partner of 20 years, Susan Sarandon, 62, and his two children with Sarandon, Jack Henry, 19, and Miles Guthrie, 16. Sarandon’s lovely daughter Eva Amurri, 23, from her relationship with director Franco Amurri, was also at the ceremony. Robbin’s friend, actor Jack Black, 39, was also there to help him accept the honor. Robbins is 6′ 5″ tall while Black is a little short of 5′ 10″ tall. Black joked that he literally looked up to Robbins from a young age.
Tim Robbins is known in Hollywood as an Academy Award-winning actor, director, activist and hockey fanatic. On Friday, he added comedian to his repertoire while getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work,” he recalled. “When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down. Now I have the honor of having this done to my star.”
Guests at the ceremony included Robbins’ longtime partner, Susan Sarandon, as well as relatively diminutive actor Jack Black, who said he has known the tall, lanky Robbins for 25 years.
“I literally looked up to him,” Black joked. “I actually became his stalker because I wanted to be part of his world.”
Robbins was nominated for a best-director Oscar in 1996 for “Dead Man Walking,” a movie he co-wrote about the death penalty. Sarandon’s role in it won the Oscar for best actress.
“I am so pleased to be a part of his life, and I want to present Tim’s best production — our three kids,” Sarandon said.
Born in West Covina, Calif., and raised in New York City, Robbins came from a family of entertainers. His father, Gil Robbins, played with the folk group The Highwaymen in the 1960s.

A longtime baseball and hockey fan, Robbins is often spotted playing hockey in NY city with his two teenage sons. Congratulations to Robbins and we look forward to many more years of seeing his talent on the big screen.

Jack Osbourne has come a long way from that slobbish, lazy rock star kid he used to be when his family was filming their reality show. Twenty-two year old Jack has gotten clean and healthy and now gets his kicks from his British tv reality show Adrenaline Junkie.
Jack’s day job spilled over into real life yesterday as he rescued a girl from getting mugged in the street. He stopped the mugging, chased and caught the bad guy, made a citizen’s arrest, and pinned the mugger down until the cops arrived.
“I could see the girl was in trouble, it just felt like the natural thing to do. I’m glad it turned out okay.”
Suddenly Jack Osbourne’s number on the sexy scale just went up 10 points. How often do we girls see real life heroism these days?
She’s well-known for being notoriously late to her gigs, and yesterday Amy Winehouse was true-to-form, showing up onstage 45 minutes late for her concert at the Isle of Wight’s Bestival.
The “Rehab” songstress took the stage sporting a flirty checked sleeveless belted minidress along with her usual massive beehive hairdo and gave a nearly-perfect performance, much to the delight of the patiently-waiting festival goers.

Jack Black may be one of Hollywood's more, er, rotund stars - but it looks like his son Sammy's decided to help him shed a few pounds!
We caught the Tropic Thunder star horsing around with Sammy in the park while his wife Tanya Haden looked on approvingly. Sammy really gave Jack the runaround, too - seriously, we're exhausted just watching the two of 'em go at it!

Man, that kid's got a jet engine in him, doesn't he? He just keeps on goin'!

I remember one of the first things I learned in philosophy class was how to write guarded statements in papers so it was harder to argue with your idea. Making sure not to make definitive statements, and using rejoinders like “often”, etc. I found this annoying as hell because as a result you never actually said anything or stood for anything. But celebs – and anyone who is quoted a lot – could learn a lot from the guarded statement idea.
Say your dad is Ozzy Osbourne. And you give a nice long interview, and at one point say, “My dad is not an idiot.” That would have been a great time to preface it with, “generally,” or “for the most part,” or even “with the exception of when he’s on a lot of drugs.” Because when your dad is Ozzy Osbourne, making such a definitive statement is really asking for people to argue with you, and hunt around YouTube for a few minutes to prove exactly why you dad IS an idiot.
Jack Osbourne wants to set the record straight about his famous father. And that means taking a few swipes at the MTV reality show that put his family back on the map. “I think The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public’s perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy,” Jack tells Rolling Stone magazine. “Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it’s not [all of] him.” Now Jack is trying to rejuvenate his dad’s rocker legacy. He has recruited his own pals and his dad’s former bandmates to contribute to a documentary he began shooting in January.
The result, he told the music mag, will be a kind of filmic memoir. The Black Sabbath frontman is dyslexic and “refused to do a book,” Jack adds. “So this is more like a talking book, a really thorough autobiography.” And despite their close family bonds, Jack insists the film won’t be a puff piece.
“My dad’s not an idiot – he’s nothing short of a genius, in my opinion,” he explains. “He does have huge flaws, and we’re trying to really paint an honest picture of that.”
[From People]
To Jack’s credit he did point out that Ozzy can be bumbling. But he really shouldn’t have allowed so much as a two second pause to breathe between that and the [but] “he’s not an idiot,” quotation. In fact just to be safe, I’d say something like, “For the most part, generally, he’s more often than not not a complete idiot most of the time.” Yeah it’s a grammarian’s worst nightmare. But it’s really, really safe. I kid of course.
Jack’s documentary sounds like it could be pretty interesting. While both he and sister Kelly spent some of their most struggle-filled, least-attractive years on television (everyone goes through that stuff at their age, they just did it on MTV), they both seem to be slowly growing into reasonably healthy adults. Jack in particular. It’ll be interesting to see what perspective he brings to his “talking book,” and see to what extent Ozzy’s problems were exacerbated by being over medicated by his doctor like the family has long claimed.
Here’s Jack and Ozzy this past Halloween. Images thanks to Fame.

No question that Jack Black is a funny man, but it's also nice to see him just be a regular 'ol dad!

It was a tense night for celebrity fans of the Los Angeles Lakers. Facing the Boston Celtics in Game 3, the Lakers managed to nab a win of 87-81. I'm not much of a sports person myself at least not until celebrities are involved, so clearly that's the only reason I'm writing this.
The crowd at the Staples Center was positively star-studded, with staunch Lakers supporters in the crowd as Jack Nicholson and Magic Johnson. There were, of course, a lot of pretty people including Hilary Duff and her hockey-playing boyfriend Mike Comrie. Hugh Hefner showed up with his plastic surgery posse and, of course, my girl Kendra Wilkinson.
Fergie and Kanye West obliged photographers with a cute little pose and David Beckham looked as tense as he would be if the L.A. Galaxy were playing. Also, Vanessa Minnillo is making the most amazing face in reaction to something that Hilary Duff is telling her and you'll be very upset if you don't take a look at it after the jump.
Hmm, I don't think I see Eva...

It seems that it isn’t just women in Hollywood who are under pressure to be slim - Jack Black wants to lose a few pounds after seeing his bare behind on the big screen. I can completely sympathize, I feel the same way after seeing mine in a hand mirror.
“When I saw my rear end in my nude scene in Margot at the Wedding, it actually had a double chin,” he tells Parade.com. “I’ve joined a gym because the next time you see me naked I’ll be trim.”
Although looking good in nude scenes is priority No. 1, health played a factor in the 38-year-old’s decision as well.
“I want to feel good too,” he says. “Now If I eat a cheeseburger and fries, it tastes so good at the time and then right after it’s like, ‘What did I do? Why?’”
Rather appropriately, the character that was nude in the film is named Jeff “Fats” Portnoy, who is filming a Vietnam War movie when the director fires him mid-production.
I wasn’t really aware of the fact that Hollywood leading men felt the pressure to be slim, but I’ve heard that the camera adds ten pounds, so I guess it stands to reason you might feel the pressure to look your very fittest. I can’t say that I think it’s great that the men seem to be feeling the pressure too. I’d much rather hear that weight isn’t a concern if you have talent, which isn’t likely to happen.
There does seem to be a double standard, that even female comedians need to be slim and attractive in films. OK! Magazine describe Jack as being ‘lovably rotund’, which is not a description I expect to be given to any Hollywood actress anytime soon.
It’s great to see Jack doing it for his health, all the same. I never feel good after eating fast food, either.

Uma Thurman now gets to have a little peace of mind. After a weeklong trial, her stalker Jack Jordan has been convicted of one count of stalking and one count of aggravated harassment. Jordan was acquitted on two additional stalking counts.
A lovesick former mental patient was convicted Tuesday of stalking and harassing Uma Thurman for more than two years, showing up on her front doorstep and movie set and sending the actress a series of creepy love letters.
Jack Jordan, a 37-year-old out-of-work lifeguard and pool cleaner, faces up to a year in jail. He was convicted of stalking and one count of aggravated harassment, and acquitted of two other harassment counts.
The verdict comes after a weeklong trial that featured riveting testimony from the Academy award-nominated actress, who told the jury she was “completely freaked out” by Jordan’s behavior.
Prosecutors say he had stalked her since 2005, when his crush on Thurman become so intense that he just had to be with the “Kill Bill” and “Pulp Fiction” star.
He showed up at her doorstep and the SoHo set of her movie “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and sent a series of bizarre cards and letters to Thurman, including 20 of them while he was locked up at a mental institution.
[From the Huffington Post]
Jordan was involuntarily committed specifically for his obsession with Thurman, so I was surprised that he was still allowed to send her mail from the mental institution. Obviously his time there didn’t do any good, as he upped his efforts once he was released. In one of his letters, Jordan said that Uma’s two kids didn’t exist and that they were “an illusion.” Freakishly bizarre stuff, to say the least.
A friend of mine sat in on the trial for several days, and said that when he testified, he didn’t seem crazy, just way too intense. It sounds like he either got a lot of coaching from his lawyers, or is on some medication that’s straightening him out a bit.
Jordan testified in his own defense, saying Friday he now understands how Thurman could have been frightened by his attempts to see her… “In a misguided way I was trying to give her an opportunity to meet me and give myself an opportunity to meet her,” Jordan testified. “I was feeling distressed,” said Jordan. “I had this feeling of longing for Ms. Thurman and I was trying to explain it. I was not trying to scare her in any way.”
[Explaining his intent behind a card on which Jordan had drawn a picture of an open grave, a headstone and a man standing on the edge of a razor blade]: “I felt I was walking on the razor’s edge,” Jordan said. “I felt that it reflected this relationship that I unfortunately imagined that we had. … This cartoon was meant to amuse her, to endear me to her.”
The defendant also admitted that he told Thurman and her family he would kill himself if he couldn’t meet her. He said it “was a clumsy and poor way of expressing my emotions for her. I wasn’t feeling suicidal, but I was expressing a depth of feeling that was very distressing.”
[From the Huffington Post]
It seems like a good idea for Mr. Jordan to spend a bit of time in a hospital, at least for his own mental health. It’s hard to tell to what extent he was a danger to Uma Thurman, but clearly he broke the law, and knew what he was doing. Hopefully Uma and her kids will get some peace now, and be able to move on with their lives.

Uma Thurman’s parents and employees have been testifying this week in Manhattan State Supreme Court in the case against her stalker, Jack Jordan. Jordan is a diagnosed as schizophrenic with bipolar disorder who stalked and harassed Thurman and her family members from early 2005 – September 2007. He was arrested this past October. Both Thurman’s housekeeper Dorota Janas and former personal assistant Samara Koffler testified that Jordan would hang out on the stoop her Greenwich Village home, ring the doorbell multiple times a day, and leave creepy letters.
Thurman’s housekeeper Dorota Janas testified on the second day of Jack Jordan’s trial that he rang the bell at the actress’ Greenwich Village town house at least twice a day for at least 10 days last summer…Janas, testifying through a Polish interpreter, said she saw Jordan sitting on the front stoop a few days before another employee called police. Some time later, she retrieved a letter Jordan had left for Thurman on the stoop.
Samara Koffler, a film producer who was Thurman’s former personal assistant, testified that she returned from the Bahamas in August 2007 and saw the letter Janas had found. She read part of it in court. “Dear Uma,” Koffler read, “I love you completely. Unless rousted, I’ll spend the night in front of (Thurman’s address).” At another point, she read: “Ask your assistant to let me wait inside until you return. I feel afraid that if I see you with another man I’ll kill myself.”
Koffler said she told Thurman about the letter and called 911 and told police “an unstable man” was hanging around the house.
[From the Huffington Post]
Thurman’s parents Birgitte and Robert Thurman testified as well. They received multiple emails and phone calls from Jordan at their Woodstock, New York home – further indication of just how far Jordan was willing to go to be with Thurman.
Her father, Robert Thurman, said his reaction after reading e-mails from Jordan was to try to remember the FBI’s telephone number. He said in court Tuesday he was seeing Jordan for the first time.
Her mother, Birgitte “Nena” Thurman, testified that she believed Jordan “was someone who would benefit from medical attention.” She said the first time she spoke to the defendant was in 2005 when he called her home in Woodstock, N.Y., and told her that he “and my daughter had a predestination to be together.” She said he asked her to relay that message.
“I tried to assure him in no uncertain terms that this was just a fantasy and he was projecting,” Thurman said, and that her daughter had no interest in him.
[From the Huffington Post]
One of my friends works for the Manhattan D.A.’s office and sat in on the trial for a few hours on Monday morning. She said Jack Jordan wasn’t one of those visibly crazy people that gives you the chills just looking at him. He looks normal, like a guy you could pass on the street. No odd behaviors or anything in court. She also said that he carries a large backpack with him wherever he goes in the courthouse and the courtroom, which is unusual.
The defense’s arguments so far are just that Jordan is a guy in love. With a side of crazy. But apparently they’re focusing on the love, and saying he needs mental help but not jail time.

"It's with great shame that I confess that Slate is a nominee" in the Webby Awards, says Jack Shafer, the site's lead destroyer of all fun. He's upset that so many people get to come home with a trophy: 600 winners and over 1100 pre-announced "honorees," out of almost 10,000 contestants who paid $275 or more each to be considered. He estimates the awards show pulls in $2 million (which honestly doesn't sound like that much to me, considering costs). Of course Shafer's hate-on, like any promising Slate piece, has a caveat.
Shafer even promises that if Slate wins a People's Choice award, he'll insult the whole event from the podium. So, er, go vote for him.

Jack and Kelly Osbourne on 10/21/07. Scroll down to see video of their interview
Jack and Kelly Osbourne were on ABC’s “2020″ last night and talked about their battles with addiction. Jack, 22, says he’s been sober for 5 years and that he still struggles with urges to drink. Kelly, 23, wouldn’t specify how long she’s been sober after three stints in rehab, and says that as soon as she starts to count time that’s when the bad thoughts creep in, telling her it’s ok to get high again.
Kelly was the one who did most of the talking and who seems to be still battling her demons. After watching this I have a lot more respect and sympathy for her. She was very candid about what she’s been through.
Kelly’s early start: Vicodin at 13
Kelly said that she first experimented with drugs at 13 and took Vicodin. She said it silenced all the self conscious thoughts in her head telling her she wasn’t good enough. All the negative coverage of her weight in the media fueled her drug use, she said.
Kelly was usually high on “The Osbournes”
Kelly said that a lot of the screaming and fights you saw on “The Osbournes” were due to all the drugs she was on at the time and that they really heightened her emotions. She said it made her bratty and selfish.
Kelly took 100 pills a day; threw up blood
Kelly admitted that her parents did find a bag of pills that she had with 500 pills in it before she went to rehab, and explained that, “my mom would come into my room every single night and I was throwing up blood, because the Tylenol in the Vicodin was wearing away at my stomach lining.”
Kelly’s low point
She said her low point was waking up to her mom pounding on her back trying to resuscitate her because she had stopped breathing. She had peed the bed and said “At 20 years old, to wake up, by your mother trying to resuscitate you in a bed of your own piss. That is mortifying.”
Jack drank and smoked a lot of pot
Jack said he drank to go along with the crowd and that he used to limit pot-smoking to weekends, but that he was doing it more and more and had no boundaries.
Kelly told a story about how she found him throwing up on the floor and that’s when she realized he was “really f’ed up.”
Jack said he had suicidal thoughts on a daily basis before suicide attempt
After their mom Sharon was diagnosed with cancer, Jack said he struggled with depression and had suicidal thoughts “pretty much on a daily basis.”
Jack attempted suicide with booze and prescription drugs, the narrator explains, and he said “I wasn’t happy when I was drunk or high and I wasn’t happy when I was sober.”
Rehab worked for Jack, didn’t work at first for Kelly
Jack went into rehab after his suicide attempt at 17 and it’s safe to say it worked for him as he says he hasn’t had a drink since.
Kelly said that after she went into Promises rehab for the first time in 2004 she got high the day she got out and that it didn’t help her. “All I did there was buy 30 days of time and learn tricks from other addicts. And get a massage, lay by a pool… I was out of there… that night I was high.”
The narrator explains that Kelly’s third stint in rehab worked for her, and she said “It just clicked. You have to have that realization that you’re never going to win.”
Kelly and Jack’s futures
Both Kelly and Jack are living on their own now. Jack is hosting a reality show in Britain called “Adrenaline Junkies” that features people having adventures, and he said he wouldn’t be doing it if he were still drinking, and that “it’s taught me to live life to the fullest.”
Kelly is hosting “Project Catwalk” in England, which is their version of “Project Runway.”
Kelly always came off as a bit of a spoiled brat to me, and if she was taking handfuls of pills throughout the day you can see how it would radically change her personality. Both Jack and Kelly seem to have come to terms with their addictions and to be living a sober lifestyle now. I admire them for talking about it candidly and not glamorizing what they were going through.
Addiction is a lifelong struggle and maybe their story will help others who are facing similar problems realize that they’re not alone.

Jack Nicholson's still got it. Hey, you know what? He's 70. So he has a pair of knockers that Pamela Anderson is jealous over. But notice that he's still got bikini-clad young women flocking around him. You know he got the digits and probably a couple of peeks at a nipple. That's how he rolls.
Jack acknowledges that he's had to slow down, but not stop. You would too, if you couldn't produce saliva anymore.
"I'm a quieter, more introspective man than I was 20 years ago," he says.
Here he is on vacation in St. Bart's. I pray to God I don't live to 70. But if I do, I want to be running around like this cat. He's into politics, too. He recently put together a YouTube video combining some clips of his most famous film characters and dubbed them supporting Hillary Clinton. He does it all. He needs a bikini top but he does it all!

Actor and Tenacious D frontman, Jack Black, is expecting his second child with wife Tanya Haden.
Black confirmed the news at a press conference for his latest film, Be Kind Rewind. “Yes, she’s expecting,” he said, but refused to give further details.
Black was married in 2006 and has a son, who’s one and a half. He loves being a dad, and I imagine with the sense of humor this guy has, he is a terrific father.
Congratulations, JB!

Movie funnyman Jack Black and wife Tanya Haden are on the fast track family wise. The couple, who eloped in March 2006, are already parents to 1½-year-old son Sam. And today Jack announced that his wife is expecting a second child.
Black told reporters at the Be Kind Rewind press day at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills “Yes, she’s expecting,”. He declined to name a due date. So far, Black says he’s taken on parenting with a “day-by-day” strategy. “I’ve been told that two children is three times as hard as one child,” he joked, “but then strangely three children is easier than one.
Jack Black

Living in Hollywood has really gone to Jack Osbourne’s head. Not in the traditional “I think I’m so hot” way – because let’s be honest, he’s Jack Osbourne, how hot could he think he is? But they guy is certainly jaded, and clearly has no concept of what the real world is like. After Mischa Barton’s recent DUI arrest, someone thought it would be a good idea to look up Jack Osbourne and ask what he thinks about the whole debacle.
Jack Osbourne has said he doesn’t think people should be so surprised when celebrities are arrested for drink-driving offences because they’re “not a big deal”.
Speaking in response to Mischa Barton’s arrest last week, Jack explained recently: “Everyone gets DUIs… but you only hear about it when celebrities get them. It is a big deal but it’s not a big deal, just a slap on the wrist.”
[From Fametastic]
You know it’s funny, because I have known a few people who got DUIs. And each and every one of them got their asses into rehab right away, and were guilt-ridden and humiliated. I remember one of them telling me he didn’t think he’d ever be able to find someone who’d be willing to marry him, because a DUI was that horrendous. And I have to tell you, I couldn’t help but agree with him. I mean I know he’ll probably find someone someday, but it sure shrinks the pool, doesn’t it? I would never date someone with any kind of record beyond your run-of-the-mill traffic tickets. Most people do not have DUIs. And those that do seem to inherently understand that they should feel a deep sense of shame. Unless they live in Hollywood. Then it’s a rite of passage, and a sure way to get your name in the papers when no one’s paying attention to you.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving CEO Chuck Hurley responded to Osbourne’s idiotic comments.
“Drunk driving is not a rite of passage but it does seem as though some high profile celebrities in Hollywood and in professional sports think it is&
