She’s one of the most precocious soul singers in recent memory, and earlier today Joss Stone was over at the Hard Rock Café in London, England for the launch of the Serve3 benefit album.
The “Tell Me What We’re Gonna Do Now” songstress looked excited to be a part of Hard Rock’s 2008 global “Imagine There’s No Hunger” campaign, even offering up a performance as part of the festivities.
British soul singer Joss Stone reportedly headbutted her own brother at a baptism where she was to be the godmother of his son! Joss arrived 30 minutes late at her half brother’s year-old son’s baptism, angering her family. She then refused to properly read some church prayers and when confronted by elderly relatives she called them “old biddies”.
A guest reported that Joss blamed traffic for being late, but went on to say, “You would think as the kid’s godmother she’d be on time. And as she recited the order of service, she failed to read what she was given. It showed lack of respect to the family.”
When her brother intervened on her obnoxious behavior, the willful singer turned violent! One guest revealed to the Daily Mirror:
“She was absolutely furious and they had a full-blown argument. They were screaming at each other and the next thing, Joss headbutted him. Other family members ran over to break it up and she stormed off. It turned from a nice family affair into a brawl between Joss and her brother. No one could believe it.”
That really sucks that she turned a happy family moment into a total disaster.
Hosted at the Four Seasons hotel, Joss Stone was looking especially sexy at Bafta/LA’s inaugural British Comedy Awards on Thursday night (May 1).
The “Baby Baby Baby” singer was there for the shindig honoring the best of 2007’s television and theatrical comedies - held as part of a week of screenings and dinners promoting the British film industry.
Joss Stone and Cat Deeley got friendly in front of the camera at some event yesterday. Nothing happened. However, inside my head it was quite a night. A night filled with full body massages and someone screaming “It’s My First Tiiiiime” into a camera. It also involved a restraining order and a tazer, but that’s not something I want to talk about. I’m not sure why all my sexual fantasies end in someone getting painfully tazed.

One of the biggest names in the high fashion scene these days is Max Azria. And his BCBG Fall Line was on display and looking sharp at his New York Fashion Week show yesterday.
And the celebs were out in full force to catch a glimpse of Azria’s latest creations. Stars like Fergie, Rihanna, Joss Stone, Amy Smart, and Natasha Henstridge all clamored to take a peek.
Joss Stone was on hand as a front row spectator for the Red Dress Collection fashion show that kicked off the start of New York Fashion Week. She watched the models shimmy down the catwalk Friday for Laura Bush’s healthy heart campaign but wasn’t too impressed.
“I hated the modeling — it was so embarrassing!” she said. “I’d never do that again.
the 20-year-old British soul singer also saw Laura Bush and pulled no punches on her impressions:
“I saw the Bush lady” Stone said. “I care for American politics because it affects the rest of the world so much, but I just don’t really care for the Bush family,” Stone continued. “I’d actually met her before at the White House and it was like ‘Hey how are you,’ and then she was gone. I mean, to be fair, I guess she seemed like a nice enough chick, but I don’t really know.”
What did excite Joss was meeting actress, Ana Ortiz.
“I met Ana from ‘Ugly Betty!’” Stone gushed Saturday night. “I just love that show. I don’t really watch TV, but I download it and ‘Lost’ from iTunes.”
Joss Stone’s view of the world aside, Laura Bush’s speech at the show encouraging women to exercise to keep their hearts healthy shouldn’t be ignored.

Many times I have written articles about pregnant celebrities and mentioned how absolutely terrified I am of the concept of giving birth. I mean I want to have kids more than anything in the world, but I really wish I could pick them up at the local market, instead of growing them from scratch. Well it turns out all of my fears have been diminished. Why? Because not-very-well-respected-anymore singer Joss Stone wants to be a midwife. And what rational person wouldn’t want a barefoot-in-public, purple-hair-sporting quasi-soul-singer pulling a baby out of you? That’s right, no one.
Joss sat down for an intimate question and answer with the Sydney Morning Herald, and talked about her plans for the future and her struggles as an artist.
At midnight, sitting in a Swiss hotel room, the rest of her life weighs comfortably on the conversation. “I really don’t plan on dying and saying I was just a singer,” says Joss Stone, thinking about her future. “I want to do many different things. I’m really excited to see what’s going to happen in the next couple of years because it’s not going to be the same.”
“I would actually like to go back to school, which is funny because I really hated school with a passion. I’d like to go back and do some degrees and I want to be a midwife, actually. I think that would take me about three years.”

Well I feel relieved. I love how almost all celebrities say they’re going to do this or that other thing because they know what they’re doing isn’t helping people and they want to enrich their lives and all that stuff. How often does it come to fruition? I know there’s a couple famous people out there that have tried their hands at other professions, but how many have done so successfully? Can anyone think of a well respected actor/cardiothoracic surgeon? A brilliant model/trial lawyer? An esteemed former-teen-prodigy soul singer/midwife? It’s just too weird. I mean it’s cute for a movie of the week, but you don’t want someone like that between your legs.
Incidentally, spending a bit too much time between her producers’ legs is exactly how Joss Stone got her current reputation/lost all credibility as an artist.
Last night marked the 10th annual Angel Ball, put on by Denise Rich and friends to raise money for the G&P Foundation for Cancer Research.
According to Fox news, “She (Denise) stuffed 1,400 people into the Marriott Marquis ballroom, mingling her performers with big A-list names such as Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Joss Stone and John Legend with Kelly Ripa, Joan Collins, Clive Davis, Bar Refaeli, Petra Nemcova, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Chace Crawford… and so on.”
