Nick Nolte minus one house this afternoon
Nick Nolte’s house in Malibu burned down late this morning. Damage is estimated at $3.4 million. KABC says:
The late-morning fire was sparked by an apparent electrical malfunction at his home in the 6100 block of Bonsall Drive, authorities said. Nolte suffered a small cut to his right hand when he broke a window to escape the flames. (Source)

According to various sources Nick Nolte’s house suffered serious damage early this morning as it was engulfed in flames. Some media outlets are reporting there was extensive damage while others are reporting it was burned to the ground. Nolte was at home at the time and managed to escape, but he suffered smoke inhalation. Fire fighters found him on the scene trying to put out the blaze on his own.
Hollywood actor Nick Nolte suffered smoke inhalation and abrasions during a fire at his Malibu, Calif., home Tuesday morning, TMZ reported.
The blaze is believed to have started in a bedroom due to an electrical problem, the entertainment news Web site said.
Firefighters reportedly arrived to find the house on fire and the 67-year-old actor trying to extinguish it himself.
TMZ said the blaze caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to the contents of the house and about $1 million damage to the structure.

The Associated Press says that the home was burned to the ground and is a total loss. Not that I don’t trust the accuracy of TMZ’s reports one hundred percent, but I’m a little more inclined to go with the AP on this one.
Nick Nolte has escaped a fire that burned a Malibu home to the ground.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says the actor slightly cut his hand when he broke a window and fled the home shortly after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The Sheriff’s Department says an electrical malfunction caused the fire, which caused an estimated $3.5 million in damage and left the home a total loss.

Celebrities often feel so apart and separate from us that we forget that they’re regular people who can lose their homes and get in car accidents like the rest of us. It’s probably safe to assume that Nolte had insurance on the home so it likely won’t be a huge financial setback but will probably be a big emotional one. He’s lucky he escaped and seems to be relatively unhurt.

Nick Hogan getting out early for good behavior
Nick Hogan is getting out early. Though he was sentenced in May to eight months in jail for leaving his friend John Graziano in a permanent vegetative state after a street-racing accident, Hogan will be released three months early on October 21 because of good behavior. His lawyer Morris Weinberg Jr. explained to MTV:
“That’s not early, that’s when he would normally be released, once you figure in good time and all that. When you calculate good time, which everybody that’s there that doesn’t get in trouble [is granted], they come up with a date, and we’ve known that date literally since the day that he went in. October 21 is the day that we expect he will be released, but that’s because of good time and all that.” (Source)
Of course he’s been on his best behavior. It’s kinda hard to act up when you spend the majority of your day curled up in a fetal position in the corner, sucking your thumb. A good day for Nick is being able to eat almost half of his dinner cookie before the other inmates steal it. He’s not exactly the type to stir shit up.

Non profit organization The Freedom Group felt it was best to cancel their annual "National Wave" — which basically would have been a bunch of people across the country waving towels in unison at 9:00 PM on July 4 — because of the Hogans.
Hulk has been 'the face' of The Freedom Group.
The incarcerated Nick Hogan actually used to work for the organization as well!
Freedom Group spokesperson Sean Schumura said, "We didn't want people entangling us into some soap opera."
Ironically, Schumura testified on Nick's behalf at his sentencing.
Hogan's manager, Darren Prince, went on spin offensive and said, Schumura and the Freedom Group "believe and love Hulk and decided it would be best to postpone the event."
He went on to say that the "soap opera" Schumura referred to was the "media and paparazzi that would show up purely to ask about his personal life and not the event at hand."
Uh huh.

Over the weekend, pop singer/newlywed Mariah Carey was spotted hard at work in the Island State of Hawaii filming a new music video.
And the “Touch My Body” babe looked sexy in her skimpy strapless black two-piece bathing suit and a curly hairdo as she primped in between takes.
Well, these aren’t pictures of the exact cell that Nick Hogan is serving his jail time in, but the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says this is close enough. Due to numerous media requests, the PCSO released these pictures of a cell that is “identical to his cell size, configuration and furnishings” as Nicks.
A judge denied Nicky’s request to serve the remainder of his sentence in his family’s mansion, because well, he all but killed his friend and then acted like it was no bigggie. Apparently Nick doesn’t think his punishment fits the crime. He thinks it’s fair to be under house arrest in a Miami mansion while John Graziano lays in a permanent vegetable state, unresponsive to light in his eyes and parents voices. Every once in a while the courts get it right. Rock on Justice!

Nick Hogan’s out of solitary
I guess Nick Hogan’s bitching and whining paid off. The black sheep of the Hogan family has been transfered out of solitary and into a cell with three other individuals. TMZ says:
Nick Hogan has finally gotten his wish — kinda. He’s not going home to Mama, but Nicky Boy just got transferred out of his solitary cell and will be in a cell with three other juveniles … and a TV. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office tells TMZ the transfer was made as a result of “ongoing assessments of inmate situations.” (Source)
Is being forced to watch daytime TV really considered an improvement in Nick’s situation? I’d rather be transfered to the “hole” or waterboarded than have to sit through mind-numbing hours of Oprah and Dr. Phil. If there IS any justice in the world though, Nick will be locked up with new cellmates that are huge fans of The View . . . of his colon!
