Getting help from the court against a possible stalker, Kirsten Dunst was granted a protection order against a man who allegedly was caught trespassing at the actress’s home.
According to AP reports, “Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard E. Rico granted Dunst’s request to order 25-year-old Christopher R. Smith to stay away from the actress, her personal assistant and any place they work.”
While most of the celebrity lifestyle seems glitzy and glamorous, Jaime King recently found out that fame also has its down side.
The “Sin City” actress reported that she’s recently been victimized by a stalker, to the point that police have already been involved to run interference.
In the latest chapter of the embarrassing Panettiere domestic violence ordeal, Hayden Panettiere’s dad Alan appeared before a judge in a Beverly Hills court earlier today (October 14).
Accompanied by his wife Lesley Vogel, Mr. Panettiere was somber, with neither of them commenting to press. Their “Heroes” actress daughter was not in attendance.
Tropic Thunder, the hilarious-looking movie-in-a-movie that has so far failed to score a boycott for featuring Robert Downey Jr. in blackface or Tom Cruise as reportedly the most offensive Jewish stereotype since... Well, I don't find those very offensive, so don't ask me. Anywho, Ben Stiller's character is an actor who failed to get an Oscar nod for portraying a "retard" in the film "Simple Jack". And that's what's getting the pic boy-the-fuck-cotted. "'Not only might it happen, it will happen,' Timothy P. Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics, said of the expected push for a boycott." Because it's fine for actors to cynically go bobbing for Academy apples every year by playing a special character, but it's not okay for a comic actor to make fun of them for doing so.
And when the movie-going public inevitably ignores Shriver's inevitable boycott, he'll bring the government into it. "Mr. Shriver said that he had also begun to ask members of Congress for a resolution condemning what he called the movie’s 'hate speech' and calling for stronger federal support of the intellectually disabled. "In a statement on Sunday, Chip Sullivan, a DreamWorks spokesman, said the movie was 'an R-rated comedy that satirizes Hollywood and its excesses and makes its point by featuring inappropriate and over-the-top characters in ridiculous situations.' Mr. Sullivan, in the statement, added that the film was not meant to disparage or harm people with disabilities and that DreamWorks expected to work closely with disability groups in the future. But, he said, 'No changes or cuts to the film will be made.'"
Which is good to know, because the "Simple Jack" bits will probably be amazingly wrong—therefore funny! We could go preview it on the website the movie makers set up for it, but it's been disabled. [NYT]
Poor R. Kelly. All the R & B singer did was maybe videotape himself having sex with a peeing on the face of a girl as young as 13 and now he faces 15 years in prison. Well, Mr. Kelly met his prospective jury this week and it did not go well. "Some of the potential jurors looked uncomfortable, and at least a few placed their hands over their eyes as the judge read some of the more graphic sections of the indictments, said Verna Sadock, a sketch artist who was in the room."
"Before jury selection began Friday, [Circuit Judge Vincent] Gaughan denied a defense motion to again postpone the trial because of intense publicity surrounding the case, appearing to accept arguments from the prosecution that jury selection could weed out any tainted jurors.
"But defense attorney Marc Martin said the jury pool had been 'irrevocably poisoned' by a front-page story in Friday's Chicago Sun-Times that cited unnamed sources talking about a potential witness.
"Many of the potential jurors would have read the article on the way to the courthouse, Martin said. 'There is no escaping the fact that the Sun-Times will be in every news box in Cook County,' said Martin, adding that the contents of the story were also broadcast on TV and radio stations. 'I heard it when I was putting on my tie this morning.'
"'Somebody out there is trying to sabotage Mr. Kelly's right to a fair trial,' Martin said. As he arrived at the courthouse Friday morning, Kelly didn't acknowledge the crowd outside as he walked through a special entrance. One raucous onlooker shouted 'I love you'; another shouted 'R. Remember that whole thing six years ago with R. Kelly where this happened? "The [Chicago] Sun-Times reported it had received a 27-minute video of Kelly having sex with various women, and most troubling, the paper said, one scene appeared to show Kelly having sex with an underage girl and urinating on her face." [MTV] But then nothing much happened and people still bought his CDs and went to his concerts and all? Well, his trial finally starts this week and things are looking downright shitty for the singer.

The 'I Believe I Can Fly' hitmaker is currently awaiting trial on 14 counts of child pornography, with proceedings due to start in May (08).

"But reports now claim a new witness has come forward to testify against the star, claiming she enjoyed a threesome with the singer and the teenager at the centre of the case.
