Though for now he is known only by the moniker of “The Prince of Polo,” today it sounds like he soon could become the King.
In an article in Fast Company, David Lauren spoke about his role at his father’s namesake company, where he overlooks global marketing and e-commerce in his position as the head of Ralph Lauren Media.

Of the three Lauren children, David was the only one who wanted to work for the family business (Andrew does film production and Dylan runs a sweetshop empire called Dylan’s Candy Bar when she is not posing for Vogue magazine).

So when 71-year-old Ralph Lauren retires it looks like it will be David who will be taking the reins.
“Maybe” is the response David gave. “Probably” is what it sounded like. Writes Fast Company:

David is happy to discuss certain personal milestones… but he is mum about his future at the company. “My role has been growing every year,” he simply says. “I’m very fortunate.”
His brother Andrew added, “At some point [my father] will say, ‘I can’t do this all the time,’ and it’s not out of the question that one of us would step in… But time will tell. David is succeeding where he is.”

As for Ralph, he merely stated, “David is, and will be, a major person in the company. I can’t say today where we’re going, but David will be very important.”
Hm, sounds like a CEO appointment to us. David even has the approval of the Most Important Person In Fashion, Anna Wintour herself. “It’s never easy to be your own man and your father’s son, but David is absolutely both,” the Vogue editor-in-chief told Fast Company.
We’re just hoping that the big promotion doesn’t come anytime soon, seeing as David will be just a bit busy throwing a fancy schmancy wedding to fiance Lauren Bush and getting to know his high-profile in-laws.

For those of you who didn’t hear, Prince Albert of Monaco, 55, finally tied the knot yesterday afternoon in a civil ceremony with 33-year old South African-flavored fiancee Charlene Wittstock. She’s a former national champion swimmer. Their wedding is the first for a reigning prince in Monaco since Albert’s late parents, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier, married in 1956.

After fucking around for most of his 55 years, the Prince finally decided to settle down and we’re sure he’s gonna regret the decision a few weeks from now! He reportedly has a couple love-children floating around the globe, but if you’re sexing-up multiple hotties per day for 30-40 years, you’re bound to get at least a couple of them knocked up. How the rich & famous work, we’re pretty sure he tossed a few million to cover up his mistakes.

Regardless of how their marriage goes, it’s fairly certain that Charlene will spend the remaining years of her life lounging on luxury yachts moored off the coast of one of the most beautiful places on the planet, cruising around in cars worth no less than $500K, wearing only the finest clothes & relishing in every other luxury available to the obscenely rich & famous. Just writing that last sentence makes me somewhat depressed.

The wedding, which kicked off on Thursday with a performance by the Eagles and a televised civil ceremony held yesterday at the royal palace, will hold a Catholic Church service today followed by a star-studded celebration (some of the guests included James Bond star Sir Roger Moore, and designer Karl Lagerfeld). When you already rule over such a beautiful place like Monaco, anything short of going to the moon for your honeymoon will probably be a disappointment.

With the big day finally upon us, Prince William and Kate Middleton are all set to exchange vows at Westminster Abbey in London, England today (April 29).

The soon to be married couple have a full day ahead of them, with royalty, dignitaries and celebrities all on-hand to watch the lovely pair say their “I Do’s”.

With multiple live feeds available below to catch all of the happenings, the complete rundown of what’s to come via ABC News is as follows:

3:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m. — The morning of April 29 will start with an announcement from the Queen’s office stating the titles that Prince William and Kate Middleton will take.

3:15 a.m. — General wedding guests will start showing up at Westminster Abbey. These guests will enter the church through the Great North Door.

4:50 a.m. — VIPs, such as Governors-General and Prime Ministers of Countries under the Commonwealth of England, Diplomatic Corps and distinguished guests, arrive at Westminster Abbey. They will enter the church through the West Door.

5:10 a.m. — Prince William and best man, Prince Harry, depart Clarence House.

5:15 a.m. — Prince William and Prince Harry arrive at Westminster Abbey.

5:20 a.m. — Members of foreign royal families, including Prince Albert of Monaco and Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Spain, arrive at the church.

5:20 a.m. — Kate’s mother Carole Middleton and brother James Middleton, depart the Goring Hotel.

5:27 a.m. — Carole and James Middleton arrive at Westminster Abbey.

5:30 a.m. — Members of the Royal Family begin arriving at the Abbey.

5:38 a.m. — Father of the groom, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, depart Clarence House.

5:40 a.m. — Prince Andrew (uncle of the groom) and his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie; Princess Anne (aunt of the groom), and her husband; Prince Edward (uncle of the groom) and his wife, arrive at Westminster Abbey and enter church through the West Door.

6 a.m. — The ceremony begins. The service is set to last just over an hour and will include vows and a sermon delivered by the Bishop of London, private clergyman to the queen.

7:15 a.m. — Prince William and the new Princess Catherine will depart Westminster Abbey, by carriage, and process to Buckingham Palace. The carriage carrying the bride and groom will be followed by 4 other carriages carrying their bridal party, parents and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

The comments come on the heels of the royal wedding news, with Prince William and Miss Middleton currently planning a sure to be lavish ceremony to be held at an unknown date in 2011.

Don’t look down!

Prince Harry looked delighted with himself yesterday as he helped Scouts scale a wall at the Imperial War Museum at the launch of a forces charity campaign.

But what comes up, must come down, so the saying goes, and Harry’s trousers certainly looked like they could do with a heave-up as the prince revealed he was wearing a very pink pair of pants.

The carefree prince didn’t seem to notice his wardrobe malfunction as he joked with survival expert Bear Grylls.

Like many young men, Prince Harry seems to have adopted a low-slung approach belting up and appeared completely unaware that he was revealing his underwear.

Although tough-guy Harry may wish he’d have chosen a more manly colour and it’s probably safe to say that his grandmother, The Queen, would not approve.

Harry, an Army officer who is learning to fly Apache helicopters, joined fundraisers in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The project will see soldiers and civilians take to the streets of London to tackle military-style challenges to raise funds to help provide lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families.
