“I’m against reality shows. I find them very exploitative. I don’t think they’re that cool.”
But, the loser did admit that he may change his mind “in the later stages of my career, if ever I needed some money”.

From the Department of ZOMG: There is a preview online for the new Whitney Port reality show The City! As I'm sure you're all well aware, Port is the strange, saturnine sidekick to Lauren Conrad on MTV's sideways-spilling, late afternoon sunsplash Los Angeles reality show The Hills. Now Whittles is moving to the Big Apple (that's New York City!) to pursue her dreams of being paid to talk about fashions. Judging from the elegantly produced preview, the show will feature: work intrigue, personal intrigue, lots of great Whitney facial expressions (the Cow Eye, the Bulge Buster, the Battle Toad), socialite of sorts Olivia Palermo, the fearsome and scrumtrulescent Kelly Cutrone, and the most awkward lingering kiss/hug of all time. Just when you thought it was over…it's not!
PerezHilton.com has learned that Diddy's Making The Band is returning in early 2009 with "bonus episodes."
What the hell is a "bonus episode?"
Oh, wait, we know. It's a marketing gimmick!
In the show's "finale", we saw the Mutt-Make-Out-Slut, Aubrey O'Day, and D. Woods get the axe from Danity Kane. The new bonus episodes will chronicle the uncertain future of Danity Kane and oh yeah, those other Bad Boy artists…or whatever.
Who are they again?
We're pretty sure that Diddy's decision to boot Aubrey and D. Woods from the band was just a ploy to keep making money off of unsuspecting fans, and that the "master star maker and a genius at creating drama" will be bringing the ousted members back.
Because what could be more shocking than kicking them out?
Inviting them back in!
EVP Series Development & Programming at MTV, Tony DiSanto, said, "There is so much more story to tell, amazing music and great drama to come. With Diddy you never quite know exactly what's next…But it's pretty certain you won't be able to take your eyes off!"

If you believe a brief sound bite, Hugh Hefner and his main squeeze Holly Madison have ended their 7 year relationship. Holly was bantering with a TMZ reporters when the camera man joked that he wanted to go to the Playboy mansion for Halloween. To which Holly replied, “I have no pull anymore. Hef and I aren’t together.”
I am wondering though if she was joking or being sarcastic in response to all the rumors? My suspicions were raised because as soon as she blurted the “Hef and I aren’t together” comment the video stops. Did she follow it with “Just kidding,” which TMZ conveniently failed to show us? It’s nothing against TMZ but clever editors wanting to get a sensational story have done worse. Let’s see if there is a follow-up statement from Hef or Holly’s rep today. Heads up. I Love Money spoiler alert. Srsly, don't read any further if you care deeply about this soiled VH1 reality competition show (in which cast members from other soiled VH1 reality programs compete for... well, money). Someone called Hoopz wins. LA Rag Mag was at the Fox Reality Really Awards (yes, apparently this exists) last night and the results of the show were divulged. The question we have is: does this make a difference? Will you still watch or has the spoiler truly spoiled?
Remember when those Project Runway spoilers were leaked? Well, they kinda turned out to be fake, but still! 25,000 of you guys clicked and—I'm assuming because why else would you possibly care—25,000 of you watch the show. So you were prepared to soldier on, despite knowing some of the results.
Which, I guess, says something positive about elimination-based reality programming: that you're willing to enjoy the ride as much as the giddy final destination. Which means that the producers are doing something right in their efforts to craft worthy hours of television. Because the other option would be that watching seasons of these shows is nothing but a depressing slog to the bitter end. That—and I would posit that this is the case with a show like America's Next Top Model—if you knew the winner up front you'd just sort of clap your hands and say "yup, that's it! Moving on." Which would probably be good for the world but bad for people like me who make their sad livings with exhaustive and silly recaps of these shows. I like the idea that the early episodes aren't just means to a finale. There's something progressive and achieved in each individual installment. And that either indicates that we're not wasting our time with these things, or that we are, in fact, wasting even more time than we'd ever imagined.
Either way, look at those Fashion Week PR spoilers all you want, because you'll probably keep watching the show and reading about it here anyway, yeah?? And, I suppose, if you can hear the television over the squishing and moaning sound of your brain dying, you can keep watching I Love Money, too. Even though you now know that Hoopz wins.

A friend of cancer-stricken British reality icon Jade Goody revealed to The Sun that although close, fighting cancer is not the star's worst nightmare, it's "dying and leaving her children."
The insider also revealed that Jade's chemotherapy treatment will take about a year, as opposed to just the few months she expected.
The star had been praying that her chemo would only take six to nine weeks so she could again care fully for sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, three.
The friend went on to say, "She’s really, really upset. Jade is really worried that she will feel so ill and weak that she won’t be able to look after the boys or do anything.”
In a previous interview Jade dedicated her battle against the disease to her sons, but admitted, “I have to be realistic and face the possibility I might not see them grow up.”
The paper saying that her survival rate is 50/50.
So sad.

With all of the hard work and dedication she’s been putting into her Dancing With the Stars gig, it’s good to see Kim Kardashian taking some time for herself.
The “Disaster Movie” dame was spotted filming a segment for her reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” yesterday (September 18) on a shopping trip to H&M.
Remember the very first episode of Big Brother 10?
Memphis won a 1969 Camaro in the first competition of the house. Throughout the rest of the season we was like, “at least I won the car,” indicating that if he walked away with nothing else he would be satisfied with that prize. Memphis did end up winning $50,000 with his second place finish, but as it turns out, he may not have won the car of his dreams.
TMZ is reporting that the problem is that the car is actually owned by someone else. Not Big Brother. BB didn’t even have the title to the car. And get this, after the show, the car was returned to it’s original owner and soon after it was repainted!
While in the BB house Memphis was never told about the situation. Then on Tuesday, after the show’s finale, he was informed and we’re quite sure he wasn’t very happy about it.
Producers of the show are now in negotiations to purchase the car from the owner or face shameful publicity over the incident. The owner of the Camaro, which can have a value from anywhere from $8K to $80K, wants $24,000 for the vehicle.

A spate of reality shows—some old, some new—will soon be tumbling out of the gate and into our living rooms. Many of these shows, sadly, feature layabout socialites like Olivia Palermo and Kelly Killoren Bensimon. I've compiled a little rundown of these shows for you after the jump because, well, who doesn't like a Monday listicle.

In Which Blood Bubbles Up Through The Cracks Of New York City Streets
Real Housewives of New York City is not new. It premiered to horrified lookers on last year, its particular brand of gonzo nouveau riche tackiness eventually wooing viewers close to its leathery bosom. Now it's filming again, with a new "housewife" called Kelly Killoren Bensimon who films little internet movies with famous people in the Hamptons. No word yet on when the new season will begin but, again, they are filming. A tipster tells us: "I live VERY close to Alex and Simon of Real Housewives (I see them daily) and they were filming ALL weekend. I was most excited to see Jill Zarin there, happily chatting with Alex. I noted that Alex changed her outfit multiple times over the course of a day. Simon enjoys smoking outside with the crew."
In Which The Blood Seeps Under Doors, Into Homes and Shops, Threatening to Drown Small Dogs and Children
We warned you about this long ago, and now it seems to have become a reality (hardee harrr). Whitney Port, the dove-eyed and ghostlike silent observer from MTV's Los Angeles dream ballet The Hills, is currently working for the tremendously scary fashion PR guru Kelly Cutrone, which brings her and her cameras! to New York City. Yes, she's filming a show, rumored to be called The City, about her trials and travails in this biggest of rotten crab apples. Joining her on the carefully moderated ride will be Olivia Palermo, the confusing socialite who does something having to do with fashion sometimes. Fellow socialite Inevitably Emily Brill does not approve. Palermo's people have denied her involvement, but The Brills seems fairly convinced that she is. Sigh.
In Which The Blood Gets In the Elevator Of the Empire State Building and Lurches, Ominously, To the Top
As reported earlier by the Guest of a Guest, a new show called Social Heights will soon be leaving us bleary eyed and irrationally afraid of door knobs and streetlamps. It's to star various society types like socialgay and PR ninny Kristian Laliberte and friend of reality-TV hating Emily Brill Devorah Rose. Ms. Brill was approached at one point to be on this show, formerly titled 10021, but she eventually turned it down. The ins and outs of getting this stupid thing off the ground are probably more "interesting" than any of the tiresome plotlines the producers could ever hope to come up with. Either way, fellow socialgay Micah Jesse sits in a corner and sulks.
In Which the Blood Oozes Out of the Elevator and Precariously Close to the Edge...
We just don't really know what's going on with Julia Allison's reality show. The former Star editor-at-large and current fancy apartment-haver and her two Weird Sister buddies, "tech geek" Megan Asha and Fulbright scholar Mary Rambin, recently started NonSociety, an internet amalgamation of their Tumblr musings and various photo and video diary entries. Supposedly this is all being turned into a reality show for Bravo, which may or may not be subsidizing Ms. Allison's apartment. It's all terribly confusing and I'm not really sure these girls are actually considered "socialites," but whatever; they're pretty and have money and people seem to sorta pay attention when they do things. Again, sigh.
In Which the Blood Spills Over, Set to Rain Down and Destroy the City's Populace, Until a Bright Yellow Umbrella Catches It All and Protects Us Forever
Tinsley Mortimer and her indefatigable (if exasperated) housekeeper Guadalupe get a reality show in which they putter around the house and say funny things, Tinsley tells long rambling stories to the camera, and they go on various car trips. In one episode they go to Vermont to "see the exfoliage" as Tinz puts it, and she ends up getting stuck in an apple tree. The credits roll while Guadalupe pokes at the tree with a stick, trying to shake the socialite and handbag designer loose.
Get ready to rock and roll, Oz style!
According to a new report, The Veronicas are close to sealing a reality show deal with MTV.
It should make for an interesting show.
Just recently, one of the band's twinsies, Jess, was involved in a celesbian fling and a nude photo scandal.
What else do the girls have in store for us?
Jess revealed to a music writer that the project makes sense because, "We document everything we do anyway."

Well if it isn't a blessing from the Gawker Media Gods who brought us that pretty fundamentalist rape victim hating Alaska Governess! The Style Network plans to double your viewing rations of Project Runway judge Nina Garcia! This was known already, actually, but now there are details: the show is called Running in Heels and revolves around the staff of Marie Claire magazine, Elle having fired Garcia after deciding to make a reality show featuring Garcia rival Anne Slowey. Nina vs. Anne! Elle vs. Marie Claire! It is like Road Rules vs. The Real World, only…something we'll actually set our DVRs for! But can the show be anywhere near as awesome as the reality-TV-esque circumstances that enabled it to be?
Nina told me1 last month she'd had plenty of offers to do other shows before, but didn't want to do a makeover show. She hasn't: According to Marie Claire, Running In Heels intends to "offer unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Marie Claire and the stylish, smart women who put the magazine together each month," including "private video confessionals," in which "viewers will learn how the interns cope with their jobs, their superiors and each other." That sounds so good!!! Except, of course, for two things:
1. Seriously, it's Marie Claire.2 How bad could the bullshit be at Marie Claire? The show runs the risk of being as boring as Vogue's stupid three million dollar "documentary" web show no one except Tatiana watches. At least Elle's Stylista has the virtue of being watchable, at minimum, as a trainwreck.
2. It's going to be on the Style Network. Which is owned by Comcast, unlike new Project Runway host Lifetime, which is half-owned by Marie Claire publisher Hearst. What kind of entertainment conglomerate snatches up Nina Garcia only to not air her new foray into "docu"-reality TV? Something is off there. My guess is that Nina, who is pretty controlling of her image, did not want to make a campy gossipy addictive voyeuristic Devil Wears Prada-type reality show when she is already, you know, famous.
1 Yes, I know! I talked to her many times. Her favorite movie is "Scarface"! But Anne Slowey is more fun to hang out with. Which is to say, Anne Slowey would actually hang out with me.
2I mean, I know people who work at Marie Claire. They are completely totally normal, and not in that "for a brainwashed person" way!
The second season of VH1’s ‘Charm School‘ is on the way, set to premiere next month.
Another 14 contestants from Bret Michael’s, ‘Rock of Love’ will learn etiquette, poise and tact. Well, that’s the plan anyway.
And who better to coach the girls on the importance of being lady-like than the regal Sharon Osbourne. Yes, I am being catty for those who are slow.

I love how VH1 just keeps recycling the same reality whores over and over and over! The crazy thing is that they pay the winners pretty good, in this show the grand prize is $100,000, and that probably means more to these bitches than Bret Michaels.

It seems like yesterday that I was complaining about the new cast of Big Brother 10, deciding right away that I thought the cast was unimpressive.
Well, some of them have since grown on me, some not. One thing is for sure though, this season has flown by. Already the house is down to five competitors with another being eliminated tonight.
This week the women, Renny and Keesha are on the block. And damn it all, because they are my two favorite players.
Although Keesha has a totally annoying laugh, I like her. I think she’s pretty down to earth and chill. Renny, is of course, my favorite player by a landslide. Poor thing usually does absolutely terrible when it comes to competitions, but she is a riot to watch - and would be a total kick to party with.
Now that we’re nearing the end, who do you want to win Big Brother 10?

Looks like Celebrity Apprentice can't really get any real talent to join.
The latest "celeb" said to be joining the cast is former jail inmate Khloe Kardashian.
The 23 year-old , who's really only famous due to the "reality" TV show her sis Kim got the family, is expected to join Donald Trump on his new season.
And though NBC has yet to confirm the competitors, Joan and Melissa Rivers are also said to be part of this year's Celebrity Apprentice, along with former NBA player and cross-dresser Dennis Rodman.
Petra Nemcova and Tony Danza are among the other names being quoted as appearing on the show as possible contestants.

Top Chef, Bravo's supposedly "upscale" cooking competition show that is really about three or four food snobs berating 15 or so drunken egomaniacs for an hour, is filming, tonight!, at hoity-toity midtown restaurant Le Bernardin. The gourmet seafood restaurant—three Michelin stars! 20th best restaurant in the country!—has lent out its own top chef, Eric Ripert, as a guest judge to the show in years past, but this will be the first time the cameras have entered the hallowed eatery's inner sanctum. See you in hell, refined elegance!
I mean the restaurant has a jacket-required dress code, for God's sake. Their tasting menu is $220 a head (with wine pairings)! It's one of those storied haunts that needs only to quietly go about its gourmet way to drum up praise and customers. But now, like Faye Dunaway and now Vogue before it, Le Bernardin is bowing down to the reality gods in search of, well, that hideous term "relevance." While this evening's reserved patrons won't actually be served by the blotto, under-the-bus-throwing, vain yet desperate contestants, they still have to sign waivers (to be faxed over!) and deal with camera crews and all that reality jazz.

Rumors have been circulating for some while now of trouble over at the Playboy Mansion.
As recently as last week reports stated that trouble was brewing with Hugh Hefner's three main girlfriends over the introduction of a brunette Ukranian model named Dasha Astafieva.
Apparently Hef has been spending plenty of time with Dasha and it's threatening the girls.
But even more interesting are the rumors that Holly and Bridgette want Kendra Wilkinson out.
Though, in a calculated PR move, the ladies quickly took to their official website pages to deny rumors that Kendra was being kicked out.
However, In Touch Weeklyis now reporting some interesting news.
Looks like Kendra might be moving out after taping the fifth season, and most likely the show's last season, of the Girls Next Door.
An insider tells the mag, "Kendra Wilkinson has been offered her own reality show about starting her life over again when she moves out of the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner knows her time is coming."
Poor Holly and Bridgette. What are they going to do if Hef ever dumps them?

I guess there are probably two camps on this story, about an Indian reality show star who will have her reaction to a cervical cancer diagnosis broadcast around the entire subcontinent. Some feel that Jade Goody, a British woman on the Big Brother-esque reality program Bigg Boss, should have had her tearful reaction to the news she received over the phone kept private. Others, like me, feel that these are the few moments when reality television actually feels like, well, reality.
Remember when Danny's mom passed away on Real World: Austin? It was terribly sad and awkwardly on camera, but it also transformed Danny from complete drunken buffoon into actual, sympathetic person. I'm not saying that he needed his mother to die in order to become "real," rather that we on the on the other side of the glowing box can be pretty jaded—we forget that, beyond the silly feather ruffling and preening, these really are people with lives and mortality and family. It's a bitter little pill to swallow, sure, but I think it lends an air of legitimacy to a landscape that is, for the most part, lacking in that department.
Well, except for Beauty and the Geek which is sweet and lovable and all about feelings and makes me happy. That show is pure gold. But these other ones, especially this Bigg Boss where I hope Ms. Goody makes a speedy and full recovery and that maybe she's helped raise awareness for vigilance in detection and prevention, shouldn't be at fault, in my opinion, for airing these difficult moments. Reality show "stars" (contestants? participants? guinea pigs? victims?) may mostly be signing up to have their drunkenest hot tub kadoodle flicker on their horrified parents' television set, but once in a while something true and difficult and all-too-relatable will happen and you remember that, despite all the silliness and Jell-O shooting and gonorrhea having, in the words of High School Musical, we're all in this together. And that's a good thing.
(Also you should really just read the article because it's sort of crazy and reads like a book about magic. India!)

Even those who care nothing for the "lifestreaming" website NonSociety, the Bravo reality TV show pilot being spun off from it or the fameballs behind it can appreciate the fundamental truth on display on the site this weekend: Conflict is central to any "reality" driven broadcast. Without conflict, reality television would be watched mainly by sociology professors and prison inmates. That's why producers in the genre tend to seek out dramatic clashes of any sort, going so far as to line up racists, sexists and just overall idiots for their casts. Well, at least Rambin is learning to stand up for herself, I guess. Though the whole fight leaves me feeling like the third cat (off to the side) in this video from our tipster, Cajun.
So yeah, one of the contestants on the next cycle of Tyra Banks' home movie series America's Next Top Model is transgendered. (Or "tranny," as they prefer to be called. Much like Native Americans prefer "Injun.") There was a big splashy announcement about it on Us Weekly this morning, all in the hopes, I'm sure, that people will come lumbering up to their screens when the show airs so they can point and heehaw at the strange thing. Gender politics aside, it seems like sort of a dopey blunder to air this information before the show airs, doesn't it?
Why not let the drama unfold organically, letting the audience figure it out at the same time as the other contestants. I mean it would probably come finger snapping out after like three seconds because these girls always love to talk about their damn issues, but still. At least then it wouldn't seem like this big gimmicky thing, like having a plus sized model win a fixed competition last go around. Now it's not so much of a "surprise tranny! so what? what're you gonna do about it?" like it could be. It's just a "hey hey hey! look look! weird person! whole lotta weirdness going on between the legs! wait look back at me I'm still Tyra!" and great googly moogly that is a tiresome old trope. And the pre-arranged shock value is only going to be good for one episode this way. Ah well. Meet the whole cast at Jezebel.
