Great news for all you Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte lovers: HBO announced today that they are very interested in making a sequel to the mega hit Sex And The City!
Michael Lombardo, head of HBO programming on the west coast said:
Most actors seem to get really stressed when they become famous for perfectly portraying a certain role. They get all paranoid that they’re going to be pigeonholed and typecast forever more. So someone like Jennifer Aniston might do a really macabre horror movie after becoming super famous as Rachel in Friends, or Courtney Cox might do some softcore porn. You know, whatever it takes to remind us that they’re multifaceted and multitalented. Because who wants to be stuck playing the same old character or in the same type of show over and over again?
Well, Sarah Jessica Parker, for one. The actress is in talks to star in The Ivy Chronicles, a show about a single gal making her way in New York. All that’s missing are the shoes.
Taking Carrie Bradshaw to the big screen proved a shrewd move for Sarah Jessica Parker – the Sex and the City movie’s so far raked in more than $300 million – and now she’s eyeing the role of another single urban professional.
The star, 43, is in discussions with Warner Bros. about a screen version of novelist Karen Quinn’s The Ivy Chronicles, described by the Hollywood Reporter as an up-to-date take about class and the single woman in Manhattan – though unlike Bradshaw, title character Ivy Ames moves out of the Upper East Side after the double whammy of a job loss and a divorce.
She has to withdraw her children from their expensive private school, though they also provide her with a eureka moment: Ames starts a service to help women land their kids in upper-crust kindergartens.

So… Carrie Bradshaw in ten years? Obviously it’s not the exact same as Sex & the City, but it’s similar enough that you’d think Parker would be a little worried about getting stuck playing a New York single gal over and over again. Throw in a few pun-loving girlfriends and you’ve got yourself a guaranteed hit. Frankly it’s probably not a bad decision – Parker’s last few movies haven’t exactly seen critical and/or box office success. She might be wise to play this role until she’s a granny.

It seems like every celebrity has gotten their own TV show in the past week - Matthew Perry, George Clooney and Janet Jackson to name a few.
Sarah Jessica Parker can be added to that list, as is currently in talks with Warner Bros. to get her own television show called The Ivy Chronicles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Ivy Chronicles follows the story Ivy Ames, a single mother in modern New York. Ames is an Upper East Side woman who gets divorced, loses her high-powered job is forced to start over. After taking her children out of private school, Ames launches a business to help upper-middle-class women get their children into elite kindergartens.
Though there's no Samantha or cosmopolitans, this show does sound pretty interesting!

Apparently Sarah Jessica Parker still shares the same filthy habit with Carrie on SATC as well as her hubby, Matthew Broderick. And the worst part is, it looks like their young son may be following in their footsteps, according to NY Magazine.
At the screening of Broderick's new flick, Finding Amanda, Matthew told the magazine, “I used to smoke cigarettes, and I still do, lately. I gave that up a long time ago, but every now and then I will fall off for a week.” Broderick says SJP is “worse than me on that,” and that their 5-year-old-son, James Wilkie is “already curious. He’ll see a cigarette butt and say, 'What is that? Why do people smoke?' I can just see the little budding gene of a smoker in there.”
Um, yuck! Smoking kills, makes your breath smell and a bunch of other nasty things - let's hope SJP doesn't try to write a parenting book - we'll boycott it!

SJP recently got a serious shock to her fashion-loving system when she realized that the Nina Ricci dress she wore to the NYC premiere of Sex and the City has already been worn on two separate occasions by two other high-profile women. At this year's Met ball, socialite Lauren (Davis) Santo Domingo showed up on the arm of the designer of the strapless silver ensemble, Olivier Theyskens.
In addition, Lindsay Lohan was also seen sporting the gown in a campaign for Disney. (Disney? Seriously? Is Courtney Love doing one for them next?)
Unfortunately, this is the very type of incident that sends SJP right back to her nasty habit of wearing completely ridiculous, unwearable giant blue donuts and/or cocktail garnishes.

It’s getting to be that time… one week until the nationwide release of “Sex and the City: The Movie!” And last night Sarah Jessica Parker was all about promoting her new movie.
The “Failure to Launch” hottie made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, sporting an all-black ensemble as she schmoozed with fans outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre.
Who knew Sarah Jessica Parker had Madonna arms? It must be from having to lift all those terrible hats and plunk them on her head. I wasn't allowed to write that post because I had too many things to say about that butterfly conservatory she had on her melon for the premiere. What the -? Bitch, you are too old/not old enough to be that whimsical! Your gay husband should have put the kibosh on that! Unless it was his idea...
Sarah Jessica took part in a press day for some movie she has coming out, and answered many a question. She already has two fragrances on the market, and has a third "genderless" one coming out. She feels that if you don't smell, you're naked.
"I have a genderless one that I've been working on for about six months," she said, "and wore it a lot when I was shooting the movie. If I walk out without wearing fragrance, it's my version of being completely nude. Which, as you know, I never am." Yeah, you made Kim Cattrall handle that portion!
Sarah says she gave the Sex and the City movie her all.
"I would rather be cold and look good," she says. "I would rather wear heels and run down the block for 14 hours, and in six months see it on screen and think, 'Yeah, I should have been in heels running down the street after that cab.' You have to be a thoroughbred about it if you care."
She did not just publicly compare herself to a thoroughbred when she has horse face. Look, I love SJP but she's just lobbing softballs at bloggers now.

Causing a paparazzi frenzy as she arrived at her hotel in Paris, Sarah Jessica Parker settled into her room and headed out to promote her perfume on Monday (May 19).
The Sex and the City star was in town to add a little hype to her new fragrance Covent by Coty at a Sephora shop on the Champs Elysees.
With an overwhelmingly successful premiere in London, England earlier this week, the Sex and the City girls were riding their own momentum when they rolled into Berlin, Germany on Thursday (May 15).
It seems the Deutschtum were as eager as the Anglos to get a peek at the new flick “Sex and the City: The Movie.” And Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis were more than happy to oblige.
On Monday night she was all about promoting her new movie “Sex and the City: The Movie.” And last night, Sarah Jessica Parker took some time for herself.
Taking full advantage of her time in London, England, the “Failure to Launch” actress headed over to Annabelle’s restaurant to sample some authentic English cuisine.
Look at Sarah Jessica Parker laughing spitefully at us sheep. All these years, she's been the one getting the punchline of the joke that has been her ridiculous Sex and the City wardrobe and the ultimate prank has been her arriving to the UK premiere of the SATC movie with a flower arrangement jutting out of her head.
Meanwhile you can tell that the other ladies are finally realizing what we've suspected for some time, which is that SJP has been testing the limits of what the world will swallow in the name of "fashion."
The strained smiles on her co-stars' faces reveal that they're simply planning on making it through this promotional tour of the movie before cutting all ties from Parker, hoping that maniacal Sarah Jessica will refrain from wearing the champagne cork ball gown she's had designed specifically for the next premiere while wearing a costume axe and her hair dripping in fake blood.

Last night all four of the 'Sex and the City' actresses graced the red carpet with their presence - and squealing.
Sarah Jessica Parker noted that have all four of the stars at the same place was 'very rare.'
Kim Cattrall, noted that, 'It's like champagne. It's intoxicating,' about getting the opportunity to see all of her co-stars.
Right. Maybe she's referring to being around the tension of dueling stars - which might make one wish they were intoxicated.
Cynthia Nixon received a Point Courage Award from the Point Foundation, an organization which offers scholarships to gay, lesbian and transgender youths.
She accepted her award, saying 'When you're a young gay person, you yearn for nothing so much as the presence of other gay people, most especially, an older generation of gay people who can encourage and inspire you.'
Kudos to the ladies for supporting their castmate, and dressing themselves much better than Patricia Field does. Not that it's that difficult or anything.

Sarah Jessica Parker got all dressed up last night for the ShoWest 2008 Banquet and Awards ceremony held at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The Sex and the City actress, who wore a cute mini shift dress along with long white pearls, was on hand to receive the inaugural ShoWest Vanguard Award.
Sarah Jessica Parker holds up the Vanguard Award she received at the ShoWest film awards in Las Vegas. It's not exactly the most notable of acting awards, but it is a good excuse for stars promoting movies to pump their statue in the air, thank God and their agents for their award and add, "Don't forget to see my other movie!"
And speaking of the statue in question, whoah. This one looks kind of wacky--exactly how I would expect an award that you would win in Vegas would look. It probably popped out of a slot machine. That swirly metal thing looks chintzy and I bet that if you held it too long, it would turn your fingers green. I doubt any winners were anecdotally gushing about how they'd be keeping this puppy in their bathroom. It's straight to the garage sale for this guy.
Robert Downey Jr. also won an award, looking endearingly goofy in his expensive jeans and blazer, Jodie Foster, having had shaken her stalker off her trail, looked stunning in a simple, summery dress with Nim's Island co-star Abigail Breslin. Kate Bosworth still looks thin and uncomfortable, probably still chafing from this wacky ensemble and now dressed as an 80s mobster mistress in mourning. Isn't her life story the one on which this Alyssa Milano movie is based?
And I kid you not, Brendan Fraser took home the Distinguished Decade of Achievement in Film award. And I would scoff, except that I've been on the Revenge of the Mummy ride at Universal Studios and it is both distinguished and an achievement.
