After competing at the box office for years, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are now apparently good friends.
The former movie rivals grew close after Schwarzenegger landed the job of California Governor in 2003, ending the competition for box office bucks. According to Stallone, they meet every Saturday to smoke cigars and discuss how to run California.
Stallone reveals, “At one time Arnold and I were like Sodom and Gomorrah, Cane and Abel, very competitive.
“After he became governor, we started to build this relationship. We’d go to this place called Cafe Rome and smoke cigars, then they banned smoking, so the governor and I were in an alley stealing a few puffs talking about how to balance the budget. Now we meet every Saturday.
“He saw the first version of (the new sequel) John Rambo. How ironic, the guy who used to be my competition. He really loved it.”
And Stallone has this to say to critics of the California Governor: “He’s a genius. Never judge a muscular book by its cover.”
