Stepping out for a night at the movies, Emma Watson attended the UK premiere of “Ano Una” at Curzon Renoir Cinema on Saturday night (November 29).
Sporting a big smile on her face as she chatted with fellow attendees, the “Harry Potter” actress thoroughly seemed to be enjoying her time at the Jonás Cuarón directed film’s London debut.
We’re used to seeing her at swanky premieres and high-profile fashion shows, but earlier today Emma Watson indulged her inner child at the VIP Opening Night of the Somerset House Ice Rink.
The “Harry Potter” hottie arrived at the London locale looking super fine in a black ¾-length coat overtop a black dress with red and white accents, black stockings, and black heels.

To get to this glorious point, the mystery genre has undergone a wholesale reinvention, with shows like Dexter and True Blood shaking up the form with more than just violence and sex. Why are mysteries back?
The scarcity of worthy Hollywood properties means that every halfway decent book will see itself staged eventually. And since young people today don't read books, this may be the only way for some of the best storytelling in our culture to get its proper appreciation.
Among the different literary genres, some are more suited for the process than others. What always works, and always will work, is a mystery. While networks have been mining the soap opera with some success, mysteries work just as well in the serial form. Sure, CSI can fall into the general category, but the best mysteries aren't procedurals — they are true whodunits, giving the audience a litany of engaging small clues that keep them guessing.
The best shows on television right now are all mining this territory.
You can write your way out of any jam with forensics, Showtime's Dexter suggests, but a serial killer still has to lie to the people he loves. After a second season that ranked with any in recent memory, the show has been built around the uneasy friendship between Dexter and district attorney Miguel Prado, played by Jimmy Smits. Based on Jeff Lindsay's Darkly Dreaming Dexter series, the show has overcome the corniness of its premise — "serial killer is a cop" — and become a far deeper exploration of what we hide from each other. And it's also really funny.
The Skinner is this season's mysterious killer, and there's already more than fifteen potential suspects. (This isn't the first time Dexter has had to fend off another killer moving in on his territory.) The thread has been masterfully drawn out over nine hours of television, and it's one of the TV season's best storylines — one that has viewers watching in record numbers. The only fear is that when this show re-airs on sister network CBS it will have so much profanity and violence cut out that the show will be madeall but unrecognizable for a mass audience craving something new.
Then there's True Blood, Alan Ball's HBO series marketed largely as a supernatural sex odyssey. For those who look past the vampires and shapeshifters, the basic story is no different — Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is a detective (albeit an unusual one) who hears the thoughts of humans as they beat in their skull.
In Bon Temps, Lousiana, someone is killing people close to her, and once again there's an entire town full of motives, not to mention supernatural beings with reasons we couldn't begin to fathom. The unfolding vampire mythology is just as compelling (and bizarre) as the murder mystery. Alone, neither of this elements is particularly original, but stirred together, Ball's show is a triumph. If you tuned out because of Anna Paquin's accent, you made a critical mistake.
Based on Southern mystery writer Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark series, the HBO show is a scene-by-scene reenactment of the books, highlighting how much easier it is to translate something to the screen when the original follows a familiar structure.
In both of these shows, part of what's refreshing is that we never have all the information about the characters. Instead of keeping the viewer perpetually ahead of the action and characters, Dexter and True Blood keep you spinning in the ether. Since we're so jaded about knowing what's coming in television, that's a good thing.
Guy Ritchie and company are intent on making Sherlock Holmes a successful film franchise, and it'll need new elements just like Dexter and True Blood. Early rumors seem to imply the supernatural will be more heavily involved than in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's day. Still, the structure's the thing. Young people aren't raised on Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, let alone Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, so this revival could really get a new generation interested in watching (and reading) the genre. Were The Hardy Boys taught to more young men instead of the decidedly less optimistic Lord of the Flies, we might have better television to watch today.
While she may be best known for her “Harry Potter” films, Emma Watson would rather be known for something else - her mind.

And the paparazzi caught up with her earlier today as she checked out the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2009 show in Paris, France as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Most people know her as the spell-casting redhead from the Harry Potter movies, but Emma Watson is a bona fide fashionista!
And she was spotted checking out all of the latest lines from the world’s top designers at London Fashion Week while looking quite sexy herself.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson is considering moving to America to get a degree at a university.
The actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the wizard franchise, has always had a goal to supplement her career with a degree. Watson scored straight As in her Geography, Art and English Literature A-levels last month, and recently completed a summer course at RADA.
And the 18-year-old, who was born in France, has revealed that she may go abroad to start her studies next year though Cambridge is still a strong consideration.
She says, “I’ve applied to a few universities for next year, including several American ones. If I do go there I will do a liberal arts degree, but if I stay in the U.K. I’ll do English literature.”
And speaking of Emma being born in France, she has just paid out 2 million dollars on a ski chalet in the French Alps. She can afford it easily enough as she has amassed an estimated 20 million dollar fortune from her acting roles and Chanel perfume deal.
She gained control of her cash when she turned 18 in April this year. She is likely to spend thousands more decorating up the home at trendy Meribel in the French Alps. Emma, a keen skier, lived in France until she was five and speaks fluent French.
You know, after seeing Emma Watson in the Itallian Vogue, it’s nice to know that the entire cast of Harry Potter isn’t going completely down the crapper like some other people (cough cough Daniel Radcliffe cough cough). She looks really nice here, and loves giving those people that counted down until she was legal jailbate just what they’ve been asking for. However, that still won’t stop her from being a main feature in ten to twenty years on “Where Are They Now?” where we’ll discover she’s standing on London’s corners offering blowjobs to anyone that can get her dope. Well done.

It is understood that she will replace Keira Knightley, 23, whose contract with Coco Mademoiselle ends this summer. Sources said Chanel is creating a new role for Miss Knightley who, in her latest advert, poses provocatively with just a bowler hat covering her modesty.
A source said Miss Watson’s appointment will be announced next month. ‘Emma has been excitedly telling friends that she is going to be taking over from Keira. Watson is certainly a lovely girl, and brings with her a younger fan base than other Chanel models like Nicole Kidman, and maybe even a bit younger that Keira Knightley’s fans. It’s good that Chanel isn’t actually kicking Knightley to the curb. Hopefully that’s not a bunch of PR bull to make them sound good. Chanel is obviously one of the classiest brands out there. They must not have paid too much attention to Watson’s drunken behavior on her 18th birthday.

Knightley has been the face of the advertising campaigns for premium fragrance Coco Chanel since 2006, but the actress’s contract expires this summer.

She's giving the paparazzi a decidedly mysterious smile, but recently cleared up any mystery a to whether or not she and co-star Daniel Radcliffe are dating.
According to Watson she is constantly having to answer the question of whether or not she and Radcliffe are romantically involved, "Because it doesn't happen in the books, everyone is so desperate for it to happen in real life that any opportunity to come up with a story about it is taken."

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson celebrated her 18th birthday in style at Mayfair’s Automat Club and Restaurant in London on Saturday night (April 19).
Accompanied by family and friends, the young star showed up to the affair in a cute little black dress with matching black flats.
Actress Emma Watson, 18, is set to star in the period romance “Napoleon and Betsy,” replacing Scarlett Johansson, 23, who was deemed too old for the role after it was rewritten toward a more youthful personna.
Watson, will play Betsy Balcombe, a young, impetuous noblewoman trapped on the isolated British island of St. Helena who falls in love with Napoleon, who has been exiled there.
Johansson, is still staying involved in the project as a producer for the Indie film from writer-director Benjamin Ross.
Watson is known for her role as Hermione Granger in Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter” films, and is completing filming on the sixth installment, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” She just had her 18th birthday, on April 16th, gaining access to her huge $20 million fortune built on the Potter films.
With filming of the last chapter, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” scheduled to commence in early 2009, Watson hopes to shoot “Napoleon and Betsy” in the fall.

And at the Empire Awards in London last night, the “Harry Potter” actress stepped out with a self-confessed “nobody,” looking very happy and very much in love.
17-year-old actress Emma Watson stepped out for the Empire Awards in London last night and made quite a splash with a new boyfriend.
The Harry Potter star famous for her role as Hermione Granger, made her latest romance very public at last night’s Empire Awards aftershow party. She was kissing a handsome blond man named ‘Jay,’ at the after-party of the Empire film awards last night, and the couple made it very clear how they felt about each other.
The young couple spent the night making out in trendy London club Carbon, with him fondling her thigh and bottom whenever he had the chance.
Emma, who turns 18 next month was discreet at first but became more open as the cocktails flowed before she discovered a slightly more private area upstairs.
When her mystery man came up for breath and was asked by one of Emma’s female fans what she’d seen him in, he replied: “Nothing. I’m a nobody. I work in admin.”
The couple left the London hotspot separately at around midnight, with some sources reporting they went to their own homes, while others saying they reunited and spent the night together in a hotel.

If I didn't know any better, I would guess that before this guy was undead, he was an unkempt librarian. However, I happen to know from my scientific gossip research that this is Johnny Borrell, former flame of Kirsten Dunst.
These pictures were taken during an evening when Emma ran into the scruffy rocker at the Vanity Fair and Burberry Portraits party at the National Gallery in London and the two continued from the event to two other stops that evening. A witness at the event recounts how they met, saying, "Emma had gone over to speak to Pixie Geldof, who was chatting to Johnny at the time - and Emma and Johnny immediately hit it off."
In the early hours of the next morning, however, Johnny was seen with another female companion, after the two of them had been booted from the Dorchester Hotel for disruptive behavior as the two headed home. I really hope illicit substances are to blame for his vacant stare, otherwise that's just sad.

In his statement, Watson kinda apologized again, though still didn't really clarify, and also made odd mention of "his Scots and Irish forebears, saying their lives were guided by faith in reason and social justice." Not to mention alcohol and spousal abuse am I right?

There’s the Emmys, the Oscars, the Golden Globes… but none of those compare to the UK Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. It’s the first year for the show in Britain, and they’ve honored one of their own, Emma Watson, as Best Movie Actress.
The ExCel arena in London was the scene of the awards show this past Saturday, which saw Watson fend off the likes of Dakota Fanning, Keira Knightley and Cameron Diaz to win the accolade. As she accepted the award, the Harry Potter actress exclaimed, “This is so cool. I’m so thrilled.”
