Tying Garth Brooks for the most wins in the most prestigious category, Kenny Chesney took home his third straight “Entertainer of the Year” trophy at the 2008 CMA Awards.
Held at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee, the show was hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley with a number of top-notch acts including a strong performance of “All Summer Long” by Detroit native Kid Rock.
In what’s being considered one of the funnier awards shows in the recent past, the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards took over Los Angeles, being held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday night (September 21).

He's a Binghamton '06 grad and works in trade sales at Penguin. Update: Ladies, we hear he's single! Now, we've heard from a few sources that some of the gentleman in the contest were a little embarrassed, given that we're objectifying them and all. An addendum: they are also all quite smart. The 80th Annual Academy Awards have come and gone, and the night’s big winners were all smiles as they were handed their coveted statuettes one-by-one.
Taking best picture honors was the Coen Brothers’ hit film, No Country For Old Men - which was thought to be a front-runner from the event’s onset.
The 2008 Screen Actors Guild awards have come and gone, and the winners of this year’s ceremony took even the biggest movie buffs by surprise.
The top honors for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role went to Daniel Day Lewis for his role in There Will Be Blood, while the top leading lady ended up being Julie Christie for her work in Away From Her.
